QUOTE(klaus kinski @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 02:39 PM) Really, I dont get upset any more. Its a rebuilding team-plain & simple. No expectations. A rebuilding team that has no one to build anything with. -
Borchard?

Realistic Best/Worst Case Scenerios for 2007?
SoxFan1 replied to rangercal's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Best case: Bats catch fire, pitching improves, serious WS contender. Why? We've been hitting the ball harder as of late. Starters have been pretty good and consistent. Bullpen has been bad, and I think KW will pick someone up. It's a stretch, but it could happen. It only takes 1 big break to get this team rolling. Besides, I'm a Sox fan and I'll always hope for the best. Worst case: Baseball Prospectus is right. Why? By no means will KW have a firesale. It's not in him, it's not like him to do it. It just won't happen while Williams is GM. Maybe the hitting does heat up, but with our luck, the starting pitching will go down the s***ter. -
Pierzynski and Jenks came to mind for some odd reason. 100% speculation on my part, just for clarity.

Ken Griffey Jr heading to Atlanta?
SoxFan1 replied to Steve9347's topic in Sox Baseball Headquarters
QUOTE(BearSox @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 10:58 PM) What about a combo of Buehrle and Jenks for Salty, Lillibridge/Escobar, and Devine? I'll blow my brains if Jenks is dealt this season. -

QUOTE(BearSox @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 10:51 PM) When I got home to watch the game on Tivo, I got a little surprise when I saw the back-to-back homers and felt kinda excited to watch the rest of the game. That feeling quickly changed midway through the bottom of the first. Hey, at least if Dye keeps hitting like that, we could possibly get Billingsley. Or be stuck with JD for the rest of the season... -
QUOTE(Top Notch @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 06:06 PM) Cape Cod Not exactly the hottest place in the summer. And the only place I want to visit in New England is Maine. So, if anyone has gone to Myrtle Beach before...and suggestions on activities? Must sees? Places to stay away from?
-
Anyone else think that if the Sox win on Opening Day, this is a totally different season? I mean, the worst possible start to the season is giving up a lead off homerun. It kinda set the tone for a s***ty season.

I think I'm going to go watch Game 4 of the WS. And then Anchorman.

QUOTE(Whitewashed in @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 09:25 PM) Get rid of everyone that swings at the first pitch is his goal. He must have hated Konerko's Game 2 Grand Slam in the WS. Stupid first pitch grand slams! -

QUOTE(DonnyDevito @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 09:23 PM) instead of just b*tching and moaning like a typical hard headed chicagoan, yes they should post their ideas and make the thread constructive instead of clearly being destructive which is what it has become. but that's okay because there are plenty of sox message boards on the net where they are actually friendly. i'd like to take this time to let this board filled with hard headed people who offer nothing and criticize everything, that i am retiring. i am going to a board where the content of one's post matters, not their post count. look at your post counts. no wonder many of you have the mental capacity of a worm. This coming from the man who wants to start Cintron. -

QUOTE(DonnyDevito @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 09:19 PM) that doesn't matter. in this thread we were talking about the changes that will be our 2008 team. it's perfectly on topic to list my idea for our 2008 team. it's funny though, i was the only one who could actually put a roster together...go figure! now please criticize ! So because you put your idea out in this thread, everyone should repost their ideas to suit you, right? Got it. -

QUOTE(DonnyDevito @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 09:17 PM) it doesn't matter how long one has been part of a message board. that's just something people say because... hey, they've wasted thousands of hours on this board so it must mean something! the bottomline is i've lurked on this board for a while and i've grown tired of the continual b*tching and moaning with nothing to show for it. atleast throw out some ideas, but NOOOOOOOO many posters would rather criticize, for what? for nothing. Perhaps a long-time lurker would know about this? 9 pages of ideas for you killer. -

QUOTE(DonnyDevito @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 09:11 PM) has anyone ever seen fathom post something constructive? i haven't. continue to hate on byrnes and hunter. both players are 10x better than any hitter on chicago's squad right now. You've been hear for 4 days. fathom, while overly pessimistic, is 5x the poster you are. Even that is an understatement. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 05:11 PM) Contreras on the mound with Hall behind the plate.....I predict the Phillies steal 6 bases today. And at least 4 wild pitches. And a pass ball or 5. -
What happened to Anthony Reyes? 0-8 with a 6+ ERA?

Great. The day I book reservations to Myrtle Beach, I find out there toxic s*** in the water. Solid.

Ken Griffey Jr heading to Atlanta?
SoxFan1 replied to Steve9347's topic in Sox Baseball Headquarters
Wow, this thread now has nothing to do with Ken Griffey Jr. -
QUOTE(philadelphia sox fan @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 02:11 PM) I hate to be the voice of, well, philadelphism, but thats all in the past. Maybe I just don't know because I haven't seen a championship... ever... but nothing in that video impacts this season except for maybe "No matter what happens from here on out, we'll always have this in our pocket." To me that says "Who cares what we do from here on out, we won the series and I'm content with that and always will be." If you're not playing for today, why are you playing at all? (Alright! I just got rookie status! Maybe I'll post here more often) Honestly, no offense, but you are 110% incorrect here. This has less to do with the current state of the team and the current season, and more to do with reliving a memory that will forever be in our hearts. Hell, I know every once in a while, when the team is pissing me off, I pop in the 2005 WS DVD's and just relive the moments.
