Now that I think about it, signing Clemens would make so much sense right now. Sign him for 1 year, fill him in as our 5th starter as a "stopgap" and when he leaves after 2007, we use the money to extend Garland's contract. This is what we would look like in 2008: Garland (thru 2008) Contreras (thru 2009) Danks Floyd Haeger Gonzalez Phillips Broadway Depending on the Crede situation, we could trade him for some prospects as well, possibly some OF help. Then, in 2008, Fields steps in at 3B. I must be high on something, because the youth and talent of our prospects all of the sudden makes me very happy. Sweeney, Fields, and all those pitchers...wow.

I've got to say, the 2009 White Sox don't look too shabby.

Obviously, it's a bit biased considering this is a Sox message board so the numbers will be skewed. But it's quite evident that when the Bears are playing well, the city is buzzing. Just look at the history. Chicago was built by blue collar guys and players like Ditka, Butkus, Singletary, etc. resemble those people. Football town, no doubt.

From a football aspect, a DT combo of Boone and Scott are arguably better than Harris/Johnson at stopping the run, but not even in the same galaxy when it comes to getting to the QB.
