  2. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Dec 9, 2005 -> 01:21 AM) http://www.weather.com/activities/other/ot...pnav_undeclared HAHA! I guess I shouldnt laugh too much cause Im driving to Chicago from here for the holidays next week. Fort Huachucacan kiss my ass alright. You and your damn 70 degree sunshine.
  3. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Dec 9, 2005 -> 12:53 AM) For all those who thought that Marte was going to trott out to the mound as a member of the sox, remember with all the flash of greatness and sucess he had in the past. 1.) He hid an injury earlier in the season, and had to be taken out of a game in Colorado putting the team in a bind. Hiding injuries are on the sox list of no no's. 2.) He pretty much quit on the team during one of the most crucial times of the year. I mean in September with the Indians breathing down our necks. 3.) Ozzie said he couldnt use him at home because the boos were shaking Damaso's confidence. Did we think the boos would go away the minute he walked a few lefties. 4.) Remember the amazing El Duque get out of bases loaded an no one out in Boston was due to Marte walking some people. 5.) He couldnt get lefties out. He was more likely to hit or walk the lefty than get him out. So for all of the greatness that Marte gave us over the years, last year was a bridge burner. I like Mackowiak, and think that these tweaks are what we need. So far this has been a promising off season. Yeah, we shouldn't have given up on Marte...
  4. I go out and shovel and by the time I'm done, there's 2 f***ing inches of snow on the ground.
  5. QUOTE(bmags @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 08:56 PM) Let's get JOSE PANIAGUA Except he's a righty.
  6. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 09:35 PM) Pre All-Star: .329, 19 home runs, .977 OPS, 62 RBI Post All-Star: .276, 7 home runs, .733 OPS, 36 RBI. They can tell him to shut up and play all he wants, but if he doesn't want to try...well, the 2nd half speaks for itself. His 2nd half numbers are eerily similar to Mackowiaks season stats.....minus 20 rbi's.
  7. QUOTE(WinninUgly @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 09:35 PM) Wow, Boston is really forming an awesome infield: Red Sox Starting Infield 1B - K. Youkilis 2B - M. Loretta SS - A. Cora 3B - M. Lowell Dominance.
  8. Jenks, Buehrle, Thome, and Paulie. No absolute favorite.
  9. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 09:20 PM) So in other words...if we play Crede until he falls into a slump, bench him, play Machowiak until he falls into a slump, revert back to Crede...we can manufacture ourselves a .330, 40 home run guy @ 3rd base? I f***ing wish.
  10. QUOTE(JimH @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 08:13 PM) Overpay is a relative term. Many people said the White Sox overpaid for Carl Everett, Juan Uribe, Freddy Garcia, even Damaso Marte when they got him from Pittsburgh. It's very interesting to me that Williams often seems to get exactly the guy he wants. That to me means he does his best to ensure it's a good value for both teams. Which in turn means when he really wants someone in the future he's got a good chance to get him. If they target a lefthander on the cusp from some other organization, trust the scouts. They've uncovered some lesser light gems in the past few years ... Uribe, Ozuna, Jenks, Cotts, etc. Well, I dont know if Cott's can be included in that list because he was a big prospect with the A's. Adkins, not so much. But I do agree, I feel KW is one of the best GM's out there and I have all the faith in the world in him. He has earned his respect and there's a trophy to back it up too.
  11. Change your login to "TimoandAaron=Gawn!"
  12. Is there not a 'HELL MOTHERf***ING YEAH!' vote???
  13. Am I the only one who is kinda gonna miss Timo???
  14. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Dec 7, 2005 -> 01:20 PM) He's prone to having s*** second halves, last year was different but that does not change his prone status. This made me laugh.
  15. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Dec 7, 2005 -> 08:13 PM) I think Frank would be a good bench player for us, but at his salary that would be expensive. I certainly would not want him to start over Anderson, Ownes or Young. I have always liked him though. 2.7 million is considered cheap now and with his numbers, its a bargain.
  16. Here is the ESPN scouting report... http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/scouting?statsId=5907
  17. It has probably been mentioned but I think KW should look at acquiring Frank Catalanotto to bat 2nd for us. He has always killed us, plays all OF positions and is inexpensive at 2.7 mil a year. 301/367/451 were last years numbers. I think it's worth a shot. Any opinions?
  18. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Dec 7, 2005 -> 06:29 PM) yea that does suck. i can't stand it when people smoke around me when i'm trying to eat. Exactly.
  19. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 09:39 PM) I record myself and listen to it at a later date. I've come to expect things like this from you...
  20. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Dec 7, 2005 -> 06:19 PM) why would you voluntarily go somewhere like that? Have you ever been to Applebees? Old Country Buffet? Outback Steakhouse? Yes, all these having smoking and non-smoking section but when your mom and older sister smoke...you have a problem.
  21. I for one am very happy about this. I hate going places where I cant breathe and my eyes burn because of smoke.
  22. What about that Walls kid from Tulsa. He is definitely a sleeper in the draft. Most places say he is Top 3 TE's in the nation.
  23. He played well for like the first 2 months when we signed him in 2002...then he just got hurt and sucked ass.j
  24. I'm still trading in my Shingo jersey for a Jenks one...or PK....or Thome....or Buehrle....or Crede....or someone else.
