  1. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 09:05 PM) If you're talking about not getting why the Bears fans are up in arms about Olsen, I agree. I can see why people are getting concerned about the Bears general lack of activity so far though. They have money to spend after being so close to the Super Bowl last year, and appear to be asleep at the wheel. Yes and yes.
  2. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 08:31 PM) A 3rd rounder is good value for Olsen. The problem is I don't see why he was traded? Oh yeah, cause Martz is the boss. If you're not going to use him, then get value for him. They did. I don't see why people are so up in arms about it.
  3. Apparently HOU turned down Brown/Singleton/Cosart AND another prospect for Pence. WTF. We'll take that. We'll gladly take that. PLEASE OFFER US THAT FOR QUENTIN!
  4. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 08:09 PM) If you get someone with a "bowled over" type offer for Quentin - you take it. Then, you start looking into trading 2 more starters. You DON'T STOP at Quentin if someone knocks down your door to get it. You use that opportunity as a spring board into a true youth movement... and if this is the direction they are truly going - it makes me sad to see us not being able to pick up Colby. However, it's a wait and see game because hell - who knows, we might have had to give up Jackson + Sale + Thornton + Spects to get him and... **** that. Give me Julio Teheran, Randall Delgado, and Carlos Perez from ATL for Quentin and Thornton. Then try to gut Boston or New York by dumping off Danks + Rios + Cash. Too bad STL got Jackson + from TOR - or it'd be prime time to gut them for M56. Bottom line is this - if Quentin goes... sell the ****ing whole lot and stack the house for 2013/2014. Hahahaha.
  5. SoxTalk will/would be unbearable if KW started over.
  6. QUOTE (The '05 Sound @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 07:35 PM) I think hes talking about a future standpoint. If they asked for Beckham in the deal, obviously they will have some problems when Weeks gets off the DL Maybe they feel he can play 3B or SS? Or perhaps they feel Weeks is playing himself right out of an affordable contract? Silly to dismiss.
  7. QUOTE (Real @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 07:31 PM) Kenny might be getting forced to look to the next 3-4 years because of the incredible hand he's holding at the Poker table, this might be his only chance to truly build a contender gut feeling: kenny's getting really good offers and he's using his brain instead of his heart, this isnt a WS team, lets be real There it is.
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 07:25 PM) With Ricky Weeks on the team, yes he does. Ricky Weeks just went on the DL. Why are you such a Negative Nancy today? Jeez.
  9. Olsen for a 3rd rounder. That's it. No player coming to CHI.
  10. QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 07:13 PM) I wonder if Philly would take the Rios/Thornton package for something better than Milwaukee offers. They don't have the money.
  11. I'm fine with the White Sox rebuilding. The problem is, we've never had a youth movement with KW, and I have no faith at all in our scouting department, so I'm scared to death that we have no clue what to do.
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 06:49 PM) How come no one else has picked this up yet if it is even remotely true? After how the EJax/Teahen deal broke, can we really doubt anything at this point?
  13. MrFantasyExpert Fantasy Expert White Sox and Brewers still working out the specifics and all indications are the Gamel+prospect/s for Rios-salary/Thornton/Escobar is a go
  14. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 06:31 PM) and before that he had aging Delhomme throwing to him while his YPC declined. He may be 32 & 5'9, but he'd still be the best WR on the Bears, no doubt. I disagree. FYI, Delhomme used to be pretty good.
  15. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 06:36 PM) For my money, there isn't an untouchable player in baseball, and there never has been. It's the nature of the sport. One player can't win you a World Series. 2-3 above average players > 1 great player. In basketball, it's completely different. One great player can take you all the way. Take Jordan for example, he was so good that he made Pippen appear to be one of the best 50 players of all time. I disagree. Give me Albert Pujols over 2-3 above average players every day. Above average players make you good, but great players make impacts.
  16. Joelsherman1 Joel Sherman Among scouts/execs seems momentum now #Whitesox Quentin will be dealt and team I hear as frontrunner most is #Braves
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 05:54 PM) Uh, did you see Carolina's QB situation last year? Indeed I did. Nonetheless, he's 5'9 and his YPC has declined 3 straight years. At 32, he's not getting younger either. I'll pass.
  18. Bears offered more money to Willie Colon. He took $3mil less to stay with PITT.
  19. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 05:43 PM) Oops, I don't know how I missed the (not Steve Smith) part. We have a bunch of guys like Steve Smith, but none are anywhere near as good. Oh well. Guess it's Roy Williams? Uh, did you see Steve Smith's stats last year? I'll help you out: Bennett, Knox and Hester all had better years.
  20. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 05:37 PM) Maybe????? http://twitter.com/#!/BradBiggs/status/96702069725073409 And thankfully. We have a bunch of Steve Smiths.
  21. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 05:31 PM) Steve Smith? Not Steve Smith.
  22. Greg Olsen has been traded to the Carolina Panthers for a player and a pick. Per Brad Biggs
  23. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 04:56 PM) Doesn't one of these deals eventually have to backfire for them and destroy that franchise? Ochocinco is not a problem child. He's a big personality, but he doesn't get in trouble. That's such a bad misconception.
  24. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/...david-anderson/ Bears would be wise to ask about Akoye.
  25. Also seems that the Bears have began their pursuit of Roy Williams. I've actually warmed to the idea quite a bit, depending on the price.
