The Heisei series films from the mid-1980s through the mid-1990s actually did a much better job of portraying Godzilla as a force of nature than most of the original Showa films did and picked up as direct sequels to the original film and ignored the rest of the Showa series. Hoping this one turns out good.

I spent 5 days on a small research vessel last week in the Gulf of Mexico instructing an undergraduate student research cruise. We taught the students a number of oceanographic sampling techniques including benthic dredging, trawling, plankton net tows, CTD, and benthic sediment drop-grab sampling. We caught a few fish and crab species I have never seen before which was pretty cool.
