  1. He makes a rich woman beg. He makes a good woman steal . He'll make an old woman blush. And makes a young woman squeal He wanna' be yours pretty baby. Yours and yours alone. He's here to tell you honey, He's Bad to the Bone.
  2. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 04:12 PM) When did Lindsay Buckingham get a fountain? Lindsay Buckingham? Who the fock is she?
  3. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 03:47 PM) I had 3 computers lined up right next to each and 3 phones going. I got two tickets to two seperate games. If you paid with the same credit card or even with credit cards from the same billing address, those orders will both be cancelled according to the published purchase guidelines. Hopefully that is not the case, and have a dog and a brew for me at the games.
  4. QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 03:24 PM) That's the CNA Insurance building in downtown Chicago; in the foreground is Buckingham Fountain. The building is very noticeable in the daylight because its color is rust red, which definitely makes it stand out. What's a fountain? I guess I needed the green and the . . . For five summers in high school/college I was the guy in the hotdog cart selling green hotdogs, stale chips, and flat soda to the tourists at Buckingham Fountain (sorry if I got any of you sick). So, yeah, I caught a glimpse or two of the CNA building during that time.
  5. Steff pointed out here before that that there are credit card declines and no shows at will call (out of towners missing flights, etc.). I don't know when the card cancelled tix go back into the release pot, but any will call no shows should go back in after 9 pm on Friday, which is the latest you can pick up tickets purchased at TicketMaster.
  6. Your troll radars are far keener than mine then (but I am dim and easily duped). Isn't that the type of call you expect people will start getting if they don't have enouggh WS tickets to meet demand but still have potential live ones on the line for a 2006 full season package sale? rangercal or WOOD, if/when you get a similar call keep us informed. When my Dad is contacted I'll post the substance of tthe communication here as well.
  7. QUOTE(Linnwood @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 02:52 PM) No, from what I understand it was ~4,000 tickets period, so ~1,000 per home game. Only if they processed the difference as 2006 seasson ticket sales, which is possible. And that would be still more depressing.
  8. You got it right, except that depending on how many 2006 season package sales they actually got around to processing the number might have actually been closer to 2,000. Without accounting for any of those new sales, some quick math and best estimates sugggested it wasn't going to be more than 5K or so per game at any rate. When you add in the number of brokers gunning for a chunk of that small block and the resources at their disposal, the actual number of point-of-sale tickets that actually ended up in the hands of the little guys who aren't swason ticketholders is probably half of that or even less. Too depressing to think about.
  9. QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 02:45 PM) I can't wait to see the reactions of some of you if you get a call from the Sox today, tomorrow, or even Thursday telling you to come pick up your WS tickets and '06 Season Ticket package. I don't think anybody would be disappointed with that call. Now stop being such an optimist.
  10. QUOTE(THEWOOD @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 01:57 PM) you are damn right they did...they are going to have to acknowledge this at some point to the media and state what went wrong and what they plan on doing with every individual who did not get tickets All they can do is say they are sorry. But I wholeheartedly agree tthat processing the people that showed up at the 11th hour ahead of the orders that were already submitted is not cool. I don't think the reps were supposed to let on about that happening.
  11. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 01:46 PM) A CHANCE not that they WOULD get them. I don't think they expected the response they got from what I can tell. But no chance was offered in these cases because the online orders were not processed. Are those people out the 50% deposit?
  12. QUOTE(THEWOOD @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 01:39 PM) just got off the phone with them...if you have not got a call you do NOT have tickets Are you off the hook for the season package and the "non-refundable" deposit? This is serious bad news for I don't know how many hundreds of people who signed on the line in the last day or so because they were promised a chance to buy WS tix. Damn.
  13. QUOTE(Sox1422 @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 12:58 PM) I got 1 ticket to game 2 My F'n sister called the Fine Arts Center in Boston and they sold her 4 to game 2 and 4 to game 6 (on her friends credit card). Unbelievable. wtf?!? How did she evben know to try there? Is that in the TicketMaster system or were these tickets out there before the general release?
  14. I don't think anybody is screwed - not totally at least. I agree they should be able to send out a 'processing request' general email or at least post it on the site, but I'm sure they set aside what they thought was an appropriate amount of WS tix for people who purchased the packages and those were not part of the general release. Now, whether they held back enough for each package to get 1 WS ticket for each of the 4 potential games is another matter. I reread that first sentence at least 50 times, and it still sounds like the idea was you would get an offer to by a ticket to each game – with the "if available" caveat large-looming and now pregnant with meaning. For what it's worth, my Dad took momentary leave of his usually fiscally responsible senses (Go Dad!!) and signed on the line for a pair of full season plans as well. So I'm pinning my hopes on this coming through just like you.
  15. QUOTE(Allsox @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 12:32 PM) Like a broker wouldn't hire 100 people to get in line for the lottery either.... I'm not thinking it would or should be a get in line thing. Why not do it like they did for the 2003 ASG, where you sent in a postcard if you wanted a chance to buy tix. I wanted to go, I sent in 200 postcards, and I got tix. For the World Series I'd happily send in 500. Damn the postage and frull speed ahead!
  16. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 12:29 PM) ^^^ ^^^ ^^^
  17. QUOTE(Allsox @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 12:24 PM) This is NOT the White Sox' fault....This isn't even Ticketmaster's fault....Too much demand and not enuff supply....That's all it is so please, don't bring this up at the Seminars at Sox Fest cuz they won't be able to help or offer advice.... That's why the lottery makes sense. You still may have a snowball's chance, but it levels the playing field. Swing and a miss on tix here, btw. Surprised?
  18. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 11:36 PM) Ok, who's got the number for a ticket rep. Check the first post in this thread.
  19. QUOTE(Harry&JimmyRocked @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 11:26 PM) does anyone recommend any good ticket brokers? i'm trying for tickets tomorrow but chances are that i wont get them. so i know people who visit here know alot of useful information. Does anyne recommend any good axe murderers? "Good ticket broker" is an oxymoron. They're one of the main reasons us ham-and-eggers are coming up empty on playoff tickets right now.
  20. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 11:22 PM) I assume no ticket rep will be around right now, so my dad is going to call in the morning at around 10 to find out the freakin deal. I'd start trying earlier, since th deal ends at 11 tomorrow and there are probably hundreds of desperate folks like us who filled out the online orders and need processing. Hey Jason, use that supersecret Batphone number I'm sure you have and wake Brooks up so he can sort this all out for us right now.
  21. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 11:19 PM) However, if its as assumed, I can see why brokers would be all over this deal. Yup.
  22. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 11:15 PM) That's what I'm seeing too. FYI, not that this means anything but some guy on wsi did buy 2 season tickets and get 2 world series tickets for EACH game. No, that means a hell of a lot. It seems to confirm our interpretation. Hmmm. maybe it's time to talk to Dad and Li'l Bro and pool our resources. . .
  23. QUOTE(rangercal @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 11:10 PM) so you saying 1 ticket all together? or 1 ticket each ws game? Im thinking its 1 ticket all together. I'm still reading 1 for each of 4 potential games per package. If that's the case, it's not such a bad deal.
