QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 11:06 PM) Ya, that 1st line says your eligible for 1 world series ticket per season seat purchased. That's what makes the most sense, but the way I read it they will give you a chance at purchasing 1 WS ticket for EACH of the 4 potential home games (if available) for every season package purchased: Like you said earlier, you could make your season ticket money back by selling one or two of those WS tix. But the die-hards taking the plunge now are not going to do that, and even if they do, the Sox still have succeeded in selling a season ticket package.

QUOTE(THEWOOD @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 10:32 PM) i got all that but if you read the last paragraph it says your order is not final until you are contacted by a account rep....so obviously they do not charge your card until they call you and make sure you understand all the details and what each party agrees to do I don't know about that interpretation (but I'm not the financial advisor). All the jazz about the non-refundable deposit suggests to me that if they can fulfill their end of the deal (provide you with the season tickets you requested and offer you the chance to purchase 1 WS ticket per potential game per season ticket bought if available, then you are already in for half (the non-refundable part) and will get nicked for the rest tomorrow. If they have the WS tickets available but you don't like the seats or the per game ticket limit you can decline but you're out the non-refundable part. At least that is what I'm getting out of it. Keep us informed.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 07:43 PM) Curious, how many tix do you think will be available for each game? I figure 18000 have been bought up by season tix holders and than maybe another couple thousand to MLB and others, leaving roughly 15000 for each game? Is that a good estimate? I'd say probably too high by a factor of 3, sadly. There were supposedly in teh neighborhood of 10K released per game for the ALCS. So, figure in the next level of MLB, network, and corporate blocks skimmed off of that 10K, then the ones going to the 2006 seasin ticket signups, then factor in that th World Series release will have AT LEAST 2x the broker action as the last round. . . Damn, it's even more bleak than I had thought, when you start to add it all up. But, yeah, I'd say 5K-7.5K per game is a realistic BEST estimate of what will be released.

QUOTE(hi8is @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 07:29 PM) thanks NYsox35! keep the good info commin! I second NYSox' reccomendation, and I suggested Oak Lawn to someone else earlier. The 95th Street bus east takes you right to the Red Line, and your CTA transfer gets you on.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 06:53 PM) I tried googling it for about an hr at work to see if there was some secret. No luck at all. I have recruited my mom, dad, and now 4 of my good friends to try for em. I'm working on getting some more people in. If Team Gage scores big, don't forget little old me. [Today is the first time I ever used the praying smiley, so this is serious. ]

QUOTE(Yoda @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 03:39 PM) My boss at work says he is very close to getting World Series tickets and that he’ll be more than happy to invite me to a game. I will definitely accept that invitation and hopefully I can observe history in the making, LIVE! YES!!!!!! Your boss looking to hire any more employees??

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 02:29 PM) It sounds to me like slim and none to get in this time, with slim walking to the fires of hell. Channel the Power of the Rally Crede.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 02:15 PM) Funny how in '03 when they won a playoff series that's ALL they talked and bragged about. But now that it's us, there are no bragging rights unless we win it all? Ha, we have something they haven't had in a looooooong time. LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP baby. Until they get there, WE have the upper hand. In the immortal words of Steve Goodman: The Law of Averages says that anything will happen that can. Well the last year the Cubbies won the pennant was the year we dropped the bomb on Japan.

QUOTE(Wong & Owens @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 02:10 PM) The system asks you what event you want to buy tickets for. Once you select World Series in Chicago, you get routed to the national call center Got it. Damn. That makes it sound like you're actually WORSE OFF calling a satellite outlet, since you'll spend time winding through that system only to then be put in the back of the line versus going right to the back of the line ( ) if you call the direct numbers.

QUOTE(juddling @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 02:08 PM) There is no comeback!!!!!!!!!!!!! God i love this team. Go White Sox!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cub Fan: Yeah? Well, the Jerk Store called, and THEY'RE all out of YOU!

Couldn't have asked for a better present than to wake up to your very own AL Champs!

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 12:15 PM) You always want the team that beats you to be the one that wins it all. If you're going to lose...lose to the best. That's the motto my wife's old boyfriends live by anyway.

QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 01:29 PM) As I understand it you can roll the money over to apply to series tix but you weren't guaranteed them by buying ALCS tix. No, different deal I think. Thsi was not tix through MLB, it was a standing room spot on the fan deck that somebody was apparently able to rent.
-
QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 01:30 PM) We're talking about the same deal! 400 bucks, all you can eat and drink from an hour and a half before game, til the end of the 7th AND the ticket to the fan deck. It was either gonna be for game 7 of the ALCS, which would have truned into game 1 of the WS. Make that 3 of us kicking ourselves. Tried to reach the guy this morning, he said about 65 Cub fans got the remaining tix on saturday. Damn!! It was someone from my bro's sorority, er, fraternity ( ) offering the deal, and it sounded like it was put together by a fraternity alumni group or something. Damn Damn Damn.
-
QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 01:02 PM) ......and to make your stomach turn even more. Someone I knew was selling packages for game 1 on the fan deck.....all gone. Purchased by?.. drum roll please... CUB FANS yeeeay wooo-hooooo! My brother had the Fan Deck deal offered to him for a ALCS Game 7, for $400 including some buffet spread for pregame. That seemed just a littlesteep for the ALCS, but the deal was supposedly that if the ALCS didn't go 7 then the tix would roll over to WS Game. I don't know how they could have offered that guarantee, and my bro was dubious so he passed. He's kicking himself HARD right now. I am too.

QUOTE(knightni @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 12:44 PM) Monument to the Rally Crede. Sweet!

QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 08:25 AM) The Rally Crede has a new home in my sig. It probably would have taken me a week to spot that.

QUOTE(Wong & Owens @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 12:59 PM) They say that no matter what local number you call, for WS tickets you will be routed into a national call center. So, I'm not sure it matters which location you call into. But how do they know you're calling for WS tix and not for some other event? Are ALL TicketMaster phone requests at that time going too be routed to a central location? If so, that seems really clunky.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 12:09 PM) I used mine on prom night. Problem is it was used to make a balloon animal. Wouldn't have been so bad if it wasn't one of those "spermicidal" ones. Yuck. Could have been worse. It could have been a 'climax control' model and your mouth would be put to sleep. Then again, it sounds like you weren't needing to put your mouth into action that nigt anyway. . .

QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 12:01 PM) Kap.. if you get any you HAVE to keep one for your self and Mrs Kap and come up. You can't get tickets and not go.. Agreed. That would be as bad as coming home from prom night and still having that unused rubber in your wallet!
-
QUOTE(YASNY @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 11:49 AM) I cannot see a set of circumstances that will allow me to attend on Series games. I will, however, be attempting to get tickets so I can help others get to the games. All I want to do is break even. If I score, I'll let you all know. I did exactly that for the ALCS, knowing I wouldn't be able to make any games myself. I didn't land anything, sadly, so nothing came of it. Maybe I need to invoke the spirit of the Rally Crede tomorrow somehow.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 09:29 AM) FLaxx, if we both end up down there, I am coming equipped with a bottle of beer for you. Just remember to bring it home in your carry-on bag. Baggage departments aren't preesurized, and they tend to go KA-PLOOEY!!! I love Mrs. Flaxx dearly and she's quite the beer lover. But I don't think that bottle would ever make it to the airport, if you know what I mean.

I was drinking quite moderately watching the game, because I had a bottle of champaigne chilled for a victory celebration that I ras 95% sure would be opened last night. Mrs. Flaxx had a headache so I stayed up until 2:30 and drank the whole bottle myself (luckily I splurged on the good French stuff), watching highlights and interviews and SoxTalking. Woke up feeling great, but damn that champaign yeast is giving me the swamp gas! It's a good thing my office mate is off campus today.
