NOLA Bourbo-Cam
I love stumbling around the Quarter, but I'm not crazy enough to brave Mardi Gras week. You're right Rex, there's always plenty to do/hear/drink/see. There's also like 1,000 people for every bathroom on Mardi Gras, and the one thing the NLPD does come down on is releiving ones' self in public.

6 minutes left and the NLPD starts to show up. At midnight they close it down.

QUOTE(Man Of Steel @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 12:36 AM) I cant get the video to work for me... I wanna see boobs I'll get in trouble if I posted nekkid top shots... but maybe it's ok if they're painted?? [if not, Mod Squad please remove ] The one was a pretty good paint job, but the shot is blurry. Then the other one just makes me chuckle. I also like the pantygram.

President meets regular people
QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Feb 8, 2005 -> 07:55 PM) Working 3 jobs is uniquely American? What a dolt. Ah, the Land of Opportunity. Whose screening these people?!? How did the real person get in here? Now, where are those folks we cast to play the "poor but happy" residents of Any Town USA?

QUOTE(silver and black @ Feb 8, 2005 -> 05:26 PM) so when will we roughly see some boobage? There was some decent boobage in the 1:00 hour this afternoon. I actually had to close the cam feed at work... There have been a couple of FAKE boobage cop outs in the last several minutes, but things are picking up now I think.

QUOTE(Steff @ Feb 8, 2005 -> 09:51 AM) It's not refreshing for me.. it's streaming in real time. I can even hear conversations. Pretty cool. Yeah, that's the way it's supposed to work, but they get slammed with hits at Mardi Gras and it invariably gets bogged down. The Cams are up year-round though (no MC though obviously). It's neat to tune in at odd times and see what's shaking on Bourbon Street during the year.

QUOTE(mreye @ Feb 8, 2005 -> 08:14 AM) Just saw your sig, Jim. I thought I'd put it into context: Many thanks, Eye. It's good to know that the comment is every bit as asinine as I thought it was. GWB of the poorly spent "political capital"could have chosen to answer the question in an informative and non-aggressive manner (e.g., 'I'll play devil's advocate in the meetings and make the staff have to justify their positions when taken to task...'). But instead he puts on the Edward G. Robinson tough guy routine with an, 'I'm the President, see... I don't owe anybody an explanation, see...' The man just invariably says the stupidest things if the words are not on the teleprompt for him to read. He can't help himself.

NOLA Bourbo-Cam
There's only an hour or so lef before the BourbCam shuts down for the night - but it will be webcasting tomorrow (Fat Tuesday) from 9am-1am live from the corner of Bourbon and St. Peter (just up the road from Preservation Hall and Pat O'Briens for those that know the Quarter). Seems like there was more rampant baring of the mammalian protruberences (read: boobies) last year, but maybe people are just warming up fro tomorrow. Follow the link and pick your preferred Media Player. If the video feed snags up, the photo view refreshes every 20 secnds and is still pretty good. http://www.nola.com

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 7, 2005 -> 08:34 PM) Name one worse than a talking oven mitt with the voice of Tom Arnold. OK, the Snuggles' Fabric Softener teddy bear mascot is WWAAYYY worse than the oven mitt. That bear has been known to send perfectly normal people into a homicidal rage. I have to admit though, this last informational campaign did have some very sage advice...

When Maggs comes to the Cell
Although his money grubbing of late has made me sarcastically start referring to him as Whore-donez, I'm trying not to forget his contributions to the White Sox over tthe last 8 years. So who is going to bring the "Whore-donez" banner to the park and get on TV so I can live vicariously through them?

Ipod scratch remover?
QUOTE(winodj @ Feb 7, 2005 -> 09:39 AM) Its the iPod Shuffle I thought. And the Mac Mini. The Shuffle looks pretty rocking tho, gotta admit. No, those are two separate products. The mini is the slimmed down iPod in colored, brushed aluminum finish. The Shuffle is basically a USB jump drive on steroids, with no LCD readout but with a little click-wheel to select playback mode. Not a bad little device for $100.

Ipod scratch remover?
QUOTE(whitesoxfan56789 @ Feb 6, 2005 -> 10:58 PM) I think im gunna buy an ipod sometime this week, im just gunna get the mini one that can hold 1000 songs because i probably wont even get half of that for a while. But do you have to use itunes to get your downloaded songs on your ipod? No, it will work with other softwere mp3 players, but it certainly integrates best with iTunes. You DO NOT have to buy anything from the iTunes Music Store to make the iTunes player still the best interface choice.

Fright Film Finishes First
QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Feb 6, 2005 -> 08:33 PM) It's a damn shame that Are We There Yet? could still be in 3rd place with such acclaimed films as Hotel Rwanda, Million Dollar Baby and Sideways also available to see. I finally saw sideways this weekend, and it was very good. I rewatched American Splendor last night because Sideways put me in the mood for it, and it remains absolutely brilliant. Giamati is a really talented actor.

QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Feb 6, 2005 -> 02:25 PM) For the sake of not starting the "when does life begin" debate, I am going to keep my big mouth shut. Life begins at the hop, boys and girls.
