Sounds like someone needs to taken out on a snipe hunt...

ANytime I can hear some different tunage from the best group ever, I get siked....Specter destroyed the stuff he worked on, and supposedly the Lads wre NOT happy at all. Watched Imagine:John Lennon this AM(about 5 AM )....sad thing, man...such a waste because some dickhead. I always accepted the Specter-produced mutant album for what it was, and for me side 2 of Abbey Road was always the real guns-blazing swan song for the group any way (THE BEST rock and roll album side EVER, btw). I've got enough bootleg vinyl of the "Get Back Sessions" to know what that time was all about and I never let Phil ruin it for me. "I'd like to thank you all on behalf of the group and ourselves, and I hope we passed the audition..."

I concur, easily the best thing Heinlein wrote. I grok Valentinne Michael Smith.

iTunes Rocks! And now all you poor shlubs stuck with the "cheap iron" (read: Windows boxes) can use it too. Cap, are you getting jazzed about the remastered Phil Spectre-less "Let It Be" due out next month?? I can't wait! Everybody had a good year Everybody had a hard time Everybody had a wet dream Everybody saw the sunshine Oh yeah, oh yeah, Ohhh Yeah

Yep, and then a round on me. Wait, I'll need to check IDs first Ah, the good old days when I used to be carded...

Jason et al., I commend the decision, and also your willingness to do the right thing instead of merely doing the easy thing. Thanks guys, and welcome back CW.

Better bring a lot of batteries too!

I like linguine more than spaghetti. What was I saying...?

Exposed himself?? Now THAT sounds like pedophilic activity. Seriously, all it takes is getting on another computer or having a dynamic IP off of a DHCP server and people can get back on. The mods have their hands full and I don't envy them. The best thing everyone can do is not respond to the suspect posts and report the violation.

That chestnut is from "The Magic Door," a kids Hebrew School TV thing I vaguely recall from the mist that is my childhood. A vvery confusing show for t a Southside Irish Catholic, but maybe the first indication I had in my life that the whole world WASN'T Catholic. Wow, epiphany. The other local kid shows I recall fondly are the various "B.J." shows (not that kind of B.J., you sewer minds -- "Dirty Dragon" and Gigglesnort Hotel"), and good ol' Ray Rainer on WGN. Quality programming. The guy would feed a duck corn flakes live on tv EVERY #@%$&! day, and he'd staple notes to himself on his jumpsuit so he could figure out which segments came where in the show. Even then, it was unsettling to see him cheering for both the Sox and the Cubs... anyone remember the reversable Sox/Cubs hat he wore? Good Times... I'm Old...

Most of the fights in my life have been with my lout of a brother. The last one was the night of the Sox home opener 2 years ago. He let me stay at his place that night, apparently so he didn't have to seek me out to get into a fight. I admit it was convenient. We got up the next morning bruised and maybe still a little buzzed and got ready to go to the game that afternoon. Are we a good Irish family or what?

They should at least hold your d-i-p-l-o-m-a until you can correctly spell diploma.

And the injury couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. Maybe he just needs to toughen up like he told Frank I was thinking the same thing...

Giambi and Soriano not in the lineup either. I guess Soriano's 25Ks is a playoff record.

Wells injured and out in the second inning! With Contreras throwing last night he's got to be tired. Big chance for the Fish to capitalize on this...

The Sox always start the season on the road. That is a request by JR and it has been honored every year since he first made it. Do you know what the reasoning is behing his request? I know where I live, I've usually been wearing shorts for a month or so before opening day. Y'all have been wearing parkas leading up to opening day. I'm usually wearing shorts on Christmas.

The problem is that Kenny will get fleeced on the deal and we'll end up with the Devil rays!

Sweet. Yay for me. From the article, it sounded like the holdup may have to do with trying to schedule Expos games at their home-away-from-home home stadium stadium in PR. But the upside is that we can guarantee the Sox will be playing baseball in October next year -- at least until Oct 2...

Student Teaching: Calling advice from all teachers
FlaSoxxJim replied to BridgeportHeather's topic in SLaM
I'm currently teaching at the university level, but I did teach 10-12th grade biology several years ago. My absolute downfall was discipline. For honors and A.P. classes, the kids actually liked being there and it was no sweat. But for 10th grade general bio my lack of skill as a disciplinarian killed me and they ate me alive for a while. If you are going to be lucky enough to be in a situation where you will still have the primary classroom teacher on-hand to police the class while you execute lessons you'll have few problems. Otherwise, I would be prepared to be a hard-arse for a while even though you'd like to be more personable - you know it's the nice teachers they love to screw around with. Bust some heads (figuratively), then let up as you can. You'll have a challenge since the tone for the year has already been set by another teacher, but hopefully you are walking into a good group (i.e., not too many of them in Joliet to be close to their incarcerated parents and whatnot). My wife is a first year 8th grade teacher and is currently learning the ropes of classroom manegement. She is finding out that everything they say about the importance of procedure procedure procedure is true. She already can't wait for Christmas break, which I'm sure is not a good sign. Break a leg! -
Yeah, a living will certainly is a good idea. And you're right, starvation doesn't sound pleasant, even for a body without a mind. Not a medical doctor, but my doctorate is in biology so I have some familiarity with the stuff.

Shirley Hemphill died a few years back too, and now Rerun?!? And those two were the picture of health.

Way, Derrek! C'mon Alex!

Thanks. I keep waiting to hear what our NL East interleague matchups are going to be. I'm hoping the Sox come down for a series with the Marlins, as that will make two Florida visits for 2004 and two most triumphant road trips to Pro Player and the Trop.
