  1. I was just about to say that.
  2. There are about 12 pitchers I'd be comfortable with starting a playoff game, yes. Maybe fewer than that. Anyone that isn't the best of the best I'd be nervous with on the mound in the playoffs. So like I'd be comfortable with de Grom, Bieber, A Gerrit Cole using spin enhancing goop, and that's about it.
  3. Haha Goodwin. If he's going to be good, Engel in CF, Goodwin in RF.
  4. If you're being honest, both Cease and Giolito walk too many guys and give up too many dingers.
  5. There's the bad lineup doing bad lineup things.
  6. Kopech not being available has really exposed the Sox bullpen for how awful it is. When healthy, Hendriks/Kopech/Crochet are the only reliable arms there.
  7. They should just call this shit
  8. I think that might be the first mistake Lucas has gotten away with all season.
  9. That guy was all over the high change. Quit throwing it.
  10. I think Engel might actually be good now.
  11. It's actually nice that Giolito's "bad years" now are #2-3 quality. I'm sure he'll put in the work to get whatever's affecting his command fixed, hopefully before October.
  12. It works for him when he pairs it with the high fastball. For some reason, he's not throwing high fastballs this year.
  13. Giolito's HR/FB is ridiculous this year. It's bound to normalize.
  14. Moncada slumping after a hot streak.
  15. Lucas has a nasty slider tonight.
  16. Can someone explain why they're not calling the high fastball from Giolito for a putaway pitch this year? I haven't seen it all season.
  17. That wasn't even a bad pitch.
  18. He's got to adjust back as pitchers are now attacking his patience. He's got to switch back and forth between patience and being aggressive as pitchers adjust to his approach.
  19. Truth, look no further than the Darvish trade package.
  20. @y2chae Defeated my entire argument. I'm gonna go hide behind a tree for a while. I forgot how shitty trade packages for vets have become. Soxtalk 1, Parkman 0
  21. Yep, just them, and only if they get blown away by an offer. Can't get blown away if you don't listen. If the best offer is the crap the Cubs took for Darvish then by all means hang on.
  22. I think it's fool's gold and won't last. The barren farm has a lot to do with this. Kelley is hurt, Thompson/Dalquist are awful, etc.
  23. I thought that they should punt once Robert got hurt and nothing I've seen since has made me change my mind. They have very little offense outside of Anderson and Moncada right now. Occasionally Abreu and Vaughn show up.
