There's nothing they could reasonably add that would allow them to win in October. The rest of the AL field is just better.

They're just going to get easily dismissed in October anyway, what's the point? I look at the Sox and I don't think they matchup well at all with the Astros/Rays/A's/Yankees/Boston

I will say this.....if some of the Sox SP take a step back with the enforcement of the sticky stuff, this could get ugly in a hurry. Given what's going on with Lynn's spin rates, I doubt he'd have much value on the market anyway. Rodon otoh......

I'd rather they trade for Reynolds than Frazier. If Reynolds has 3+ seasons of team control I'd consider moving Crochet for him. Having a long-term, switch hitting solution for RF would be worth it.

This is exactly the point I was trying to make after Madrigal got injured. The Sox farm is pretty barren at the moment and if they have no intention of re-signing either guy they should at least listen. Kopech could slide into the rotation once healthy and they wouldn't be missing much.

I think that there will be an approved substance in 2022 or whenever the next CBA is finished. Too many pitchers think that rosin alone isn't sufficient for MLB baseballs.

They're going to have to give up Kopech or Crochet to add any piece of consequence. Not only is that a non-starter due to their potential, those two are also the only reliable relievers outside of Hendriks. They don't really have anything attractive to other teams.
