  1. Kinda with you, but there aren't many better options.
  2. Moncada is going to be a monster. Leave him be. He's going to be winning Gold Gloves and MVPs.
  3. Moncada is a better defensive 3B by the metrics than Rendon. Only Chapman, Arenado and Seager were better than Moncada in 2019.
  4. Yes. He also explicitly mentioned Andrew Benintendi. It is unclear whether or not that was speculation.
  5. That's because Kenny and Rick are morons and always overpay. I don't believe that anyone else offers anything close to what KW/RH offer for a player/package. They're way better at selling than buying.
  6. I don't do it without Benintendi. No 10D no deal.
  7. The most the Sox should give to Boston is Collins, one of the 4 OF left, and someone like Yolbert Sanchez.
  8. Olney said Benintendi was attached. Just saw it.
  9. You're probably right. If the Sox have to give up Vaughn or Madrigal for David fucking Price I'll be livid.
  10. Yeah. But he's a Kenny guy. They loved him in 2015.
  11. You take Benintendi, Price and $26M, Stick Benintendi in LF, DH Eloy and call it a day. If you want, you can flip Benintendi for another pitcher.
  12. So, Vaughn and Madrigal are ranked #21 and #40 on MLB pipeline right now. While it's not as good of a package as Sale to the Sox, it's somewhat close.
  13. Edited post. You guys win. When you're wrong, you're wrong. Here's the link with Benintendi #1 https://www.mlb.com/news/2017-top-100-prospects-list-unveiled-c214450588
  14. In the 2017 pre-season list, Benintendi was ahead but that isn't available anymore.
  15. There was an argument. This was the MLB pipeline list at the time of the trade. Offseason 2016-17 Moncada was #1, Kopech was #30 I lose. I must have been remembering the mid-season one. http://m.mlb.com/prospects/2016/ I'll admit defeat here. no use arguing.
  16. No. That was heading into the 2018 season. At the time Kopech was traded to the Sox, he had pitched roughly 100 pro innings over two seasons.
  17. Madrigal is a polarizing prospect. BP has him top 20, IIRC. They love him. I just looked up the BP T101. Madrigal is #12 on their list.
  18. Did you see the caveat at the end of the sentence. "At the time of the trade" are the key words.
  19. He was not. He was anywhere from #2 to #20 depending on who you asked. Kopech was in the bottom 1/4 of most T100 lists when the Sox acquired him, in the 70-100 range. With Vaughn and Madrigal, you're getting two top 40 prospects, and one top 25.
  20. Listen, I like Sabes and all. For some guys you have to weed through the advanced stats. FIP is mostly K based. A guy with an ERA over 4.00 that has a 10+ K/9 will always underperform his FIP. At some point you have to ask yourself why. Outside of his CY season, his last two seasons had him with an ERA over 4.00
  21. And Vaughn and Madrigal is arguably a better package than Moncada and Kopech at the time of the trade.
  22. With a 4.29 ERA. Snell racks up Ks so his FIP is always going to be low. The Javier Vazquez fallacy.
  23. I think they're similar. Snell has only had the one excellent year. He's coming off of a year worse than Quintana's 2017.
