  1. Does it have to do with Sanchez and Abreu's uniform numbers? Otherwise please explain it went right over my head.
  2. It's not only a language thing it's a cultural thing.
  3. I can't think of anyone else who would be between Alvarez and Eloy in the voting. Alvarez is going to win though. Eloy should finish 2nd unless I'm forgetting someone.
  4. They already have one. Ever see Moncada do interviews with him?
  5. Is Eloy playing his way into ALROY consideration or does Alvarez have that shit on lockdown? EDIT: Alvarez has that shit on lockdown. A 183 wRC+ is insanity.
  6. I think I might have jumped the gun on him. It would be huge to have him be an actual MLB player. I don't think he's going to catch, but he could DH or play 1B. Next year they can experiment with him at 1B and if he's a player that gives them options with Vaughn as a trade chip.
  7. Nice job by Cease there to get out of it without allowing any damage.
  8. That is exactly what we're saying. Moncada y Robert no hablan Ingles muy bien.
  9. Cease has gotten the Cooper Special. Ditch the curveball for the slider. It worked for Giolito, but he had a better changeup. It makes no sense as both guys had their curveball as their best breaker in the minors.
  10. It's just unfortunate, but it seems his pro career is over before it even started. Kid had a career altering injury. It's a shame really.
  11. Omg Collins might be able to hit. Even though I've been critical of him, if he can be a player that's huge for the lineup going forward.
  12. It would depend on the team. I'm not entirely sure he'd get even a look in MLB today.
  13. Yes. Madrigal being useful completely depends on how many 2B and 3B he hits. If he puts up a .740 OPS while hitting .310+ It's fine. Gap power is ok. If Madrigal is OPSing like .680 then that's not a good player. When I said that Fox wouldn't get a look in today's game I said that because he was not that good early in his career. He would have been written off as AAAA fodder before his best years and his 1951 would have been considered a statistical outlier.
  14. He had a .710 OPS and hit 35 HR in 19 years. That wouldn't get it done in today's game.
  15. I don't even think Nellie Fox would get a look in the Majors today. If he did, he certainly would never get MVP votes.
  16. Not really. The best teams have a guy who can at the very least hit HRs at every position. The Astros and Yankees have players that can rake on every position on the field. That's the bar. You can't get away with slap hitters in today's environment.
  17. I wish we had Harper as well, but we don't so let's just move on.
