  1. Ya that's what they need to do. They're done. Tear it down and build it up again. They still have a ton of valuable pieces. They have more to trade than the Sox did in 2016. They can re-open a window within 3-4 seasons if they do it right. The question is if they have the balls to do it again. It's the best move for the team long-term.
  2. It's fairly obvious that Bryant isn't going to re-sign there. They'd be idiots to hold on to him past this season.
  3. Do you know something that we don't? If so, are you allowed to share?
  4. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/no-nicholas-castellanos-is-not-getting-a-100-million-contract/ Castellanos might still be attainable. I'd rather him play DH/RF than spend a bunch of money on JDM.
  5. I think they're going to move Bryant, Contreras and Schwarber this winter. All three of them. They're going to re-sign Baez and Castellanos, and go from there. I also think Quintana could get traded.
  6. https://www.mlb.com/news/white-sox-luis-robert-named-mlb-pipeline-hitter-of-the-year This is the 2nd year in a row a Sox farmhand has won an award, as Dylan Cease won pitcher of the year in 2018.
  7. It's already hard enough for them to fill the RF hole. As of this moment, Moncada is the only LHB vs. RHP in the entire lineup. You can't have 8 RH batters in a lineup, or 9 when facing a LHP. It makes it really easy to manage against in the late innings.
  8. Fulmer has had plenty of chances. Collins has barely had one. Read my addendum to why I think he should get a chance next year. The options for LH power and OBP are scarce in the FA market and via trade. I doubt the Cubs would trade Schwarber to the Sox after what happened with Quintana.
  9. I am not operating under that assumption either, but at the same time Collins will be 25 next year. You have to see what you have there after spending a 1st round pick on him. Not to mention the Sox scouts have always really liked him. If you know anything about my opinion on Collins I'd rather they trade him if he has any sort of value. However, I'm struggling to see where the Sox are going to get LH power and OBP from besides him, even when you consider the trade market and FA.
  10. Where's Collins going to play? I'm assuming Abreu is returning.
  11. People keep talking about JD Martinez signing with the Sox. That would mean they're going with McCann and Collins at C, unless they're trading Collins.
  12. He's not coming back until August of 2020. That's not enough time to get anything for him. He has just enough time to re-establish himself and then hit FA. Launch him. Let someone else deal with the headache.
  13. I honestly don't care if they launch him for nothing this season. He's never going to reestablish his trade value anyway. Just move on and gain an extra 40 man spot. Sign Wheeler or Bumgarner to take his spot. Still go after Strasburg too.
  14. Brewers are leading the Pirates 3-0 in the 6th. Should they hang on, the Cubs fall 2 GB of the last WC spot.
  15. You're probably right. It's harder in football where there is only one game per week.
  16. OMG Eloy is going to be an absolute monster in 2020. I can't wait to rub it in the face of Cub fans while they blow up their team this winter.
  17. I'm not supposed to talk about them on this board until after the Bye week.
  18. Guys good Kelvin Herrera is back. He's lowered his ERA a full run since coming off the IL.
  19. You are Mr. Optimist. I'm right there with you, but I have to see what they do this winter before I get too excited. December can't come soon enough, and then after that Spring Training. Luckily I have the Blackhawks to hold me over as they're also quietly building another juggernaut. It might take a few more seasons but I'm really excited about their future as well.
  20. They need both pitching and hitting. Honestly I wouldn't mind if they signed 2 pitchers this offseason just to make a couple of the ones that they have available for trade. Kopech goes nowhere. I could see Rodon being non-tendered or moved to the bullpen.
  21. Yes, the Tigers are very bad at this baseball thing.
