  1. I don't blame anyone. Look at Twitter whenever there is an injury and you see the cynicism. Luis Robert had to take a crap and White Sox Twitter freaked out like he had a leg amputated or something. It really has been well earned.
  2. LMFAO These things should be illegal. It's fraud, and you should go to jail for running them.
  3. I really can't think of a fanbase in baseball more cynical than White Sox fans. We're classically conditioned to always expect the worst case scenario with everything.
  4. I'm pretty positive right now, but talk to me in February. If Hahn and KW sit in their offices playing switch all winter again, the optimism will be tempered. A lot. For those that don't know, playing switch starts with one thumb in your mouth and the other up your ass......You get the picture.
  5. There is nobody available but Harper's not worth it.
  6. That's what I meant. My definition of star/superstar is more exclusive than most. To me, you're not a star unless you're a perennial MVP/Cy Young candidate and you're not a superstar unless you're on a HOF trajectory. (meaning actually winning said awards) In my book, Machado and Harper fall just short of the star level, but they're very good players.
  7. Don't lie to yourself: if Harper were having the same year in a Sox uniform we'd all be b****ing about how he's an overpaid bum. Harper and Machado are not and were never A-Rod and Manny Ramirez. They probably deserve 25M per year on an 8 year deal. Their deals were too long and for too much. It seems like the Sox were the only team involved that valued them properly. Harper and Machado got paid based on one outlier of a year that each had. Otherwise, they're both very good players but neither are stars.
  8. I want them to pick 7th and not 8th, but it's looking like they're going to pick 8 or 9. Also worth noting, 7 of the Sox last 10 games are against Detroit. That could really mess things up. They could easily win 5 of those games. Pick up one vs the Indians and your'e looking at picking 11th.
  9. Engel is starting to hit enough to be a good 4th OF. Leury can play all 3 OF positions and 2B/SS. He eliminates the need for Yolmer. I don't mind bringing Yolmer back because if they need to they can just salary dump him on a rebuilding team with a hole at 2B.
  10. I'd give Collins a look next year, but they better have a decent backup plan. They need another catcher just in case he sucks. I would absolutely not give him time at DH or 1B on a regular basis until he proves he can hit at least .240. Only to spell Abreu or whomever.
  11. There are times when Fulmer looks like a major league reliever and there are times when he looks like AAA fodder. He's going to get DFA and go have a nice career as a setup man somewhere else and it is going to infuriate this board. Especially if it happens for a team in the AL Central.
  12. it isn't 100% set in stone what I'm doing yet, but I'll have something when I finish my foot surgeries next spring. Really looking forward to it. It's going to take some time for him to create the position and get his own stuff together. Nothing's happening until next spring at the earliest. All I know is that I'm in and once everything is good with him, I'm good.
  13. The Sox don't need any more slap hitters. They need hitters that can put the ball in the seats. The Sox are 3rd worst in the AL in team HR only ahead of the Royals and Tigers, and 26th in baseball with 168 HR. The worst has 130 for comparison and the best has 289. Also, the Sox are dead last in the AL in walks.
  14. There are some other details to be ironed out on his end, like whether he's going to take full possession of his current business in which he's a minority owner, or whether he's going to bow out of his current business and start an IT consulting company. Either way, he said I'm in his plans.
  15. I don't think that, I think McCann had a career year. This level of performance should not be expected to be duplicated. In 2019, he was a starting quality catcher.
  16. This. Nice post, and you read my mind. Honestly, I don't think MLB cares about the balls. The difference between the ball being juiced and the players being juiced is this: If the players were juiced, you'd see individuals hitting 50-70 HRs, but not across the board power numbers going up. If the ball is juiced, you'd see across the board power numbers going up, but not a lot of individual extreme outliers. The latter is what is happening. We're not even having that many 40-50 HR hitters, but there are a ton of 20-35 HR hitters. There might be one or two 50+ guys.
  17. So good news everyone! My cousin owns his own business and is planning to create a spot for me in it. I've worked for him for a short time before on a trial basis, mostly to see what I was and wasn't good at. He knows how I can contribute in a more productive way this time. He suggested I start getting some Comp TIA and other certifications. I just am getting started today and I'm excited for what the future holds!
  18. It really is a lifetime game. There is so much shit to learn. Chess for dummies and chess openings for dummies are a good place to start.
  19. idk what the rules are because he's not a permanent resident.
  20. Ok, didn't know he was from there. Well does he get deported or go to jail is the question.
  21. It's not like you think Collins is much of anything anyway. With Giolito out for the season, and a week and a half left, I've checked out of game watching. I might watch an inning here or there, but I'm not going to sit through a whole game until the playoffs. Good luck to Hahn this winter. I'm in full hockey mode right now, as I've checked out of football too.
  22. Does he go to jail in the US or get deported to the DR with a perma-ban? This guy is a sick fuck. I'd imagine his lawyers will try to fight for the latter.
