  1. Steve Stone just compared Moncada to Trout in terms of tools. Either he's stupid too or I'm not a moron for saying he has those skills.
  2. I've been critical of Moncada lately because his performance warrants it, but I still believe in him and He's still my favorite Sox rebuild prospect. I just can't deny he's sucked since May 1st.
  3. I was about to post that it looks like he has a hole in his swing with regard to the lower part of the zone. I was in the middle of typing it and then he made an in-at bat adjustment to how Bauer was pitching him and lit his ass up. Love to see stuff like that. That is true growth as a hitter.
  4. Moncada HR!!!!! Yoan takes take that "bust" comment and shove it up your arse!
  5. Why do I have to start the gamethreads these days? I don't usually start them, but I guess you guys wanted me to start it because they won last night. 2 scoreless with a K for Shields. Hopefully he has a few good starts in a row so they can launch him, though I don't know if it really makes sense if he gets to the end of August on the Sox.
  6. That's no good. I wonder if he's flying open like Giolito was. If so, should be an easy fix.
  7. Why'd they pull him after 2? Makes no sense to me, unless he was hurt or battling his control.
  8. I really don't think any contender thinks that he can help any. If they're contending, he's about equal to what they have already in the back end of the rotation. He would have had to get his ERA below 4 to have any value whatsoever.
  9. I keep waiting for the Cubs to do Cub things but it doesn't seem to be happening. They might just be too talented to mess this one up.
  10. Nothing he said is incorrect. Balta is killing it.
  11. Which just proves my point, that the modern GOP has done a hell of a job dragging the US political discourse way right. Those aren't crazy in most developed countries. They are here. Social democratic policies work just fine in every other developed country, why they supposedly can't work here is baffling to me. No, having a large population is just excuse making.
  12. Don't even click the play button, just read it. I don't know how anyone can argue against what FDR wanted here. Tell me again how this is any different than Sen. Sanders' platform?
  13. The majority of the Democratic party is center-right, but people don't know it. Bernie Sanders isn't an extremist, he's just a normal leftist. The fact that people think that his ideas are extreme or crazy is a problem, and exactly what I was talking about. It wasn't the center-left wing of the Democratic party that prevented something better than the ACA, it was the center-right wing. I can count the number of Franklin D. Roosevelt Dems on one hand. Everyone else is to the right of him. A lot of what FDR fought for, is a lot of what Bernie is fighting for. FDR just didn't live to get it all done. If FDR was running today, a lot of people would probably deem him "unelectable" which is scary. I consider myself an FDR/New Deal type Democrat(without the racism obviously) The fact that most people consider that an extremist view is scary. FDR was the only president that got elected more than twice for a reason. Too many people forget how popular he was. In 2008 we needed an FDR, not a centrist.
  14. Progressiveism isn't extreme. The problem is that the GOP has dragged the country's political discourse so far to the right that anything left of center seems extreme. We're just normal leftists. The whackjobs are on the right.
  15. Any reason in particular? 97 4 seamer and a 91 slider or cutter is pretty damn good.
  16. Wow Fry hitting 96-97. This is some closer quality stuff.
  17. Why trade for him when you give up nothing if you wait a year?
  18. I agree with this, but that had the whole plate. idk what Moncada was looking at there.
  19. I can forgive him because he stole first base vs the Angels. 2005 forgives a lot of sins. I think of AJP more of a Sox Anti-Hero than a Twins Villain.
  20. I despise the Twins with every fiber of my being. There is nothing I enjoy more than seeing the Twins epically fail in what is supposed to be a contention year for them. 2001-06 did it for me. The Indians aren't far behind in drawing my ire, due to employing noted assholes Albert Belle and Manny Ramirez during my formative baseball years. I puked when the Sox signed Belle, and rejoiced when he took himself and his degenerate hip to Baltimore.
  21. Did anyone have Cano before this year? If he was using for all of these years I'm surprised it took him this long to get busted.
  22. I can't like an Indian, Twin or Tiger. The Royals have been a relative non-factor during Sox contention years so I don't really hate them as much as the other three.
  23. Is that an accusation? Are you saying it is impossible for guys that short to be that powerful?
