  1. That won't happen. It is so far removed from reality it isn't even worth discussing. The reality is that they might keep a couple guys around from this rebuild, but if Moncada/Kopech/Cease/Eloy all hit their ceilings, they're gone at the end of their contract. There is no way in hell that the Sox will shell out $300M for any one player. I don't see it ever happening while JR is the Chairman. The Sox never offer the most money, hell they almost lost Dye in the 04-05 offseason because they didn't offer a lot of money. They're really lucky Dye didn't take the extra dough and honored his verbal agreement.
  2. I think Anderson should be more of a super sub, because he still provides some value with his bat, but he should be playing 3-4 days per week rather than everyday, and he should learn the OF as well. SS/2B/OF for Anderson. I think he should fill the role that Leury Garcia is now.
  3. I don't consider either of them part of the future. Rodon should be traded as soon as they can maximize his value, and Anderson doesn't get on base enough to be an everyday player, in my opinion.
  4. To me, this means absolutely nothing other than putting the Sox in a worse draft position because Moncada and Lopez have been bad during this stretch. Giolito has been mostly good, but a couple horrid starts in there skew the numbers. The players that matter aren't really fueling this stretch of good play, so IMO it doesn't mean anything.
  5. I feel like this thread is becoming an exercise in futility. Rehashing the same points over and over again. Everyone is disappointed in Moncada's performance this year. It does nothing but create angst to dissect each and every plate appearance that he makes an out.
  6. He's not when the poster in question thinks he's a DH. I think Eloy will spend more time playing 1B/DH for the White Sox than LF or RF. Too many other better defensive options, both internally and externally.
  7. I completely understood it. Darvish is 3 years younger and didn't have any deterioration in his stuff at the time of the signing. I would have made that decision 7 days of the week and twice on Sunday. Darvish got injured, and he's a headcase. That is something that didn't show in Texas. He did fine for the Rangers in the playoffs. There was zero reason they could have believed that last season with the Dodgers was anything other than a fluke.
  8. If he was decent defensively and could play a decent RF, I have zero doubt that Theo would have hung up the phone on Hahn when he asked for Eloy.
  9. Eloy isn't considered under my criteria because he is bad defensively. Next. I was talking about only the OFs that have a long-term position, i.e are at the very least decent defensively, and not a butcher.
  10. No, I think that if you want an all around OF that can play good defense and hit, then Gonzalez is the best in the Sox system. Eloy is so good of a hitter that it covers up a lot of his defensive deficiencies. Sox are lucky they play in the AL. Maybe I put too much value on being able to play a position, idk. Under zero circumstances do I think Gonzalez is a better prospect than Jimenez. Eloy is pretty bad out there, and that is why the Cubs traded him.
  11. Not if you include defense.
  12. Also, Shields was scheduled Tuesday so I think there is something to Shields being dealt.
  13. Thanks. I have a really good eye for pitching. I find it interesting that this comes in a game in which the guy is actually missing bats, but whatever.
  14. If they're calling up Kopech now, they might as well bring up Eloy too. To hell with service time.
  15. I agree with Konerko about the splitter. He should learn that pitch and it could help him. Or switch to the straight change. It really helped Giolito.
  16. I disagree with this decision, but OK.
  17. Probably also why he's getting hurt.
  18. This is true, hopefully this is the "dreaded vote of confidence" and they're about to launch his ass.
  19. 2021, which is exactly why they should trade Rodon. I think they could be competitive in 2020, win 80-85 games, but that wouldn't be enough to make the playoffs in the AL.
  20. I want some of what they're smoking. It must be some good shit. Puff puff pass guys.
  21. Weird Al has a huge following in the Autistic community. It is quite funny. I've been following him since I was a small kid in the early 90s. One of the first songs I heard of his was Bedrock Anthem and that was before I knew who RHCP is. Consequently, RHCP has become one of my favorite bands.
  22. So Moncada is the hitter version of Rick Vaughn from Major League Haha
  23. I hope that Lester gets lit up like a pinball machine tonight. I luuuv Cubs pitchers getting lit up, Except for Q, because he got a raw deal pitching here.
  24. Is Bryce Bush in Kanny or Great Falls?
