I saw a team that was desperate to win and a team that played not to lose. But I think we played with more urgency in the 2H when it was still tied. Really wished there was a better angle on the Davies offside. Was pretty close. Davies is on his way to being a terror it seems. The guy is very dangerous. Anyone else notice how often the road team loses if they score an early goal? Seems like the road team just packs it in and hopes to carry that one goal for a win or draw. Overall congrats to Mexico. They played to win and we didnt for the most part. Hopefully Honduras doesnt win tonight and we can stay a few points off of the 4th place team.

If Fedor doesn't sign with the UFC after his 3-fight deal with Strikeforce & M-1 is up then I'll be convinced he's ducking competition. Nobody he'll face in Strikeforce is as good as the top UFC LHW and he also won't face a wrestler or athlete anywhere near as tough as Lesnar. P4P skill-wise, Fedor's competition hasn't been as tough as Anderson's and maybe not even as tough as Lyoto's either because the HW division is the least skilled in all of men's MMA. The only reason Fedor should be considered one of the P4P best is because of his fighting style, not his record. His hands are extremely quick and powerful, he reacts and counters as well as anyone in the game, he's extremely hard to hit, and on the ground he's a beast with GNP and submissions. But IMO he's not better than Anderson or Lyoto until he proves it, but he is capable of beating them. Mirko was one of the most feared strikers in the mid 2000s and Fedor outstruck Mirko in their fight. Anderson might be the better striker but saying Fedor hasnt fought anyone close to Anderson's level is a stretch. Back in the mid 2000s the heavyweight division was tough and he cleaned it out. I would say the 185 and 205 divisions right now arent that great. Lutter got Anderson down and mounted him. Henderson was able to get him down too. I'm sure Fedor would be able to trip Anderson down if he wanted. I dont know how you can say Fedor is not better than Machida until he proves it. Other than beating Rashard, how has Machida proved to be better than Fedor. You put their resumes next to each others and its not even close. He KOed Franklin 6 years ago and went to a decision vs a smaller BJ Penn. Since you brought up Fedor getting rockedng rocked by Fujita, Machida almost got triangled by Tito. Tito has never came close to putting anyone in a submission. Saying Fedor is ducking people if he doesnt sign with the UFC is laughable. Look at who he has fought and was suppose to fight. This is typical MMA fan knee jerk reaction after every event. GSP fights great while Anderson fights boring and GSP is the greatest. Then Fedor fights and he is unstoppable. Then Anderson finally dominates like GSP and Fedor has been and Anderson is the greatest again.

Once again this team plays to the level of the competition. What a horrible, horrible series. Now I know how the Yankees,Angels and Rays felt when losing to s*** teams that you have no business losing to.

Forrest was toyed with so bad that he ran out of the ring. 2. Dan Mirg-whatever should never ref another major MMA fight ever again. He is horrible. 3. Penn just outclassed Florian. Florian had nothing BJ. Once BJ beats Sanchez, he will have cleaned out the 155 division. What would be left for him? 4. All the other fights were boring as hell. Glad to see Almeida win though.

There was a vendor at all the local Orlando sporting events(Magic games, AA baseball,Citrus Bowl,etc) that looked he was the twin brother of OJ Simpson. A local newspaper even wrote an article about him. He would walk around with a black glove, a rubber knife and a sign hanging from his vendor tray saying "White Bronco For Sale." It was pretty funny.

As great as a fighter Fedor is, the facts are he hasn't had a major impact in the U.S. marketplace. The Bodog fight against Lindland are reportadly epically low, like under 20k, and the Afflictions weren't huge either, and one can reasonably argue that AA was a bigger US draw than Fedor at that point. Who knows if SF will make a major jump at the UFC but SF has been the number 2 promotion in the country for awhile now. To compare SF to Affliction and Bodog is pretty unfair since SF has been pretty established for a good while now. Affliction and Bodog tried to do too much too soon. Ugh, dont remind me of that match. I had some nice money on Overeem and he was kicking Cro Cop's ass before Mirko wussed out and faked that injury for NC. This match still pisses me off. Fedor hasnt had a major impact in the US but Affliction never gave him a chance. Plus the Lindland fight was in the early afternoon because it took place in Russia and it wasnt really hyped up outside of message boards. I just hope its Fedor vs Werdum first. Let Fedor maul Werdum and use Overeem/Rogers as a elimination bout. Then you can have something to build hype around for Fedor's second fight.

I was watching the show with the shark that jumps out of the water down by Africa. If I'm ever in that area fishing and I see that, I might just s*** myself and start crying because I would be scared out of my mind.

The more I think about it, the happier I am that Fedor went to StrikeForce. Dana White has been talking s*** about Fedor for years and it was nice to see a top tier fighter finally stick it to Dana. Dana acts like a baby too often and I find it funny that he didnt get his way in this case. Plus it gives the UFC legit competition which is a good thing. Plus outside of Brock, who on the UFC roster would be an exciting matchup with Fedor right now? Werdum,Rogers and Overeem is just as exiciting(for lack of better term) than Carwin, Mir, Cain. Yawn. Couture/Nog fighting Fedor would be like suicide. StrikeForce needs to do a deal with CBS for this fall. CBS could throw Fedor's face on promos during the SEC game of the week non-stop and during their sunday NFL coverage for an entire month leading up to a primetime free event. That would be huge IMO.
