  1. QUOTE (danman31 @ Jul 13, 2012 -> 10:01 PM) You Celtic fans can have a laugh at Rangers' expense, but to be honest this is a terrible thing for Scottish football, Celtic included. The state of the sport in that country already wasn't pretty, but this really hurts it. You think Celtic is going to be a destination for any sort of attractive players without the Old Firm derby 5+ times a year? I agree. The Scottish Premier League is as relevant as the Ireland Premier Division.
  2. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 12, 2012 -> 01:48 PM) Give Penn State the death penalty. I love how some in the media want the NCAA to keep its nose out of this but they look for blood when a recruit takes some money from a booster.
  3. Am I the only one who finds the ASG for every sport just utterly boring?
  4. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 4, 2012 -> 01:13 PM) Suter and Parise signed identical contracts. How cute. Really not shocking that they did what they did.
  5. Surprised Italy played more open against Spain than they did against Germany. After Spain got the opener, it seemed like Italy got away from their style and pushed up more. I know Spain sat back more after getting the first but they burned Italy on the counter for the second goal and that was the nail in the coffin.
  6. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jun 28, 2012 -> 09:02 PM) New Year's has been dead for a while IMO. The most meaningful games are after the 1st now. IMO, you need every major game on the 1st except for the title game. That would mean that ESPN would have to give up some of its tv rights to these bowl games.
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 28, 2012 -> 10:43 AM) If Alabama had 1 loss to LSU and there were 4 other undefeated teams, then Alabama would not deserve to be in. However, that wasn't the case. Alabama had that one loss and there were a bunch of other 1+ loss teams. In that case, pick the best team out of that group, with some weight attached to winning your conference and some weight attached to the quality of the team that they lost to. Why not? If there were 4 undefeated teams that would mean atleast 1 of those undefeated teams would be from the ACC/Big East/C-USA/WAC/etc. So if that 4th undefeated team is Cincy, they would be more deserving over that Alabama team who went 11-1 with the one loss to #1 LSU in OT?
  8. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jun 25, 2012 -> 06:29 PM) I'm the opposite. Winter is much more interesting to me with hockey, curling, and yes, women's figure skating (it's what happens when you grow up with an intense figure skating sister). Even throwing on some skiing or freestyle s*** is fun. I just don't have interest in basketball since I'm not into the NBA anyway, and races aren't quite as fun to watch as games or other competitions. I'll watch some women's gymnastics, I'll end up watching swimming because of my wife. Track and field isn't exactly fun to watch either. And no interest in soccer either. I'm with you. I love the Winter Olympics. Only care about basketball to bet on it. I like wrestling and swimming. I can take or leave the rest. And this is coming from a guy who has never seen snow.
  9. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 25, 2012 -> 11:08 AM) <!--quoteo(post=2632337:date=Jun 25, 2012 -> 12:34 AM:name=whtsoxfan)-->QUOTE (whtsoxfan @ Jun 25, 2012 -> 12:34 AM) <!--quotec-->White Sox fan boy reaction to Brent Lillibridge being traded to the Red Sox F*ck that kid. I'm glad he's crying! Hilarious. Awesome society we're living in. My son is distraught over his favorite player leaving. Let's tape it and put it on youtube!
  10. Buffon is the King of the PKs! Bye bye England! More PK heartache. Man, Germany just got a bye into the finals.
  11. QUOTE (danman31 @ Jun 23, 2012 -> 04:33 PM) Spain France was one of the most brutally boring, uneventful games I have ever seen. That was completely unwatchable. I find Spain very boring to watch when playing good teams, especially when they have the lead. They are masters at draining the clock and keeping possession. At one point yesterday I was counting their passes and they made around 15 consecutive passes and didnt go more than 6 yards down field. Everything was to the side or backwards.
  12. QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 21, 2012 -> 11:47 PM) LeBron earned this one, but it sure irks me as a Bulls fan that we didn't even get a crack at Miami and we likely won't get a legitimate shot at them next year either. Had one last year against a weaker Heat team.
  13. QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 21, 2012 -> 11:17 PM) The idea of LeBron coming to Chicago seemed really cool, but in the fiasco it became we found out what a lowlife he and his really are. If it was about winning, he would have come to Chicago. It wasn't, it was about LeBron. I'm glad that the whole world doesn't now hate my team and hate my city. huh? You do realize we're just a couple of minutes from seeing Lebron hold the trophy.
  14. QUOTE (Carter224 @ Jun 21, 2012 -> 11:03 PM) by group I obviously meant the big three, quit being a hater because LeBron didnt choose the Bulls.. you guys are so bitter its hilarious.. If this was the Bulls and LeBron, no one would be talking about the refs and you would all love him.. but he didnt take his talents to Chicago and now hes hated.. You sir, give ME the break.. I am looking forward to the day that this word is put to bed. This word is just thrown around non-stop. But I'm sure the new word will be just as annoying.
  15. The goal that didnt count for the Fire was much clearer than yesterday's. Luckily they came back and scored a few minutes later.
  16. QUOTE (danman31 @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 06:36 PM) I really don't give a s***. Generally speaking, you can't miss a call that involves the ball going over the line. I totally agree with you. This has nothing to do with the play being offsides, it has everything to do with putting a ref at the goal line and still getting the call wrong.
  17. damn, I was hoping Croatia would make it out of C. Atleast I can root against Italy some more.
  18. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 16, 2012 -> 04:43 PM) Ugh, Poland dominated the first 30 minutes, couldn't score, then just sucked balls. Oh well, didn't expect them to advance anyway. Pretty awesome that Greece pulled the upset on Russia. Nice for the emotions now but it will suck that Greece won when they go against Germany. Not that Russia had a chance to beat the Germans but atleast Russia doesnt suck the life out of the game. Who would've thought that Russia would be going home and the Czechs would win the group after the first match?
  19. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 02:04 PM) If your laptop has an HDMI, DVI, or VGA output and your TV has an HDMI, DVI, or VGA input, then yes. I recommend going with the HDMI since it's audio + video in one cable. You can find some cheap HDMI cables on Amazon. DO NOT go into Best Buy and ask them for HDMI cables. you dont like paying atleast 700% mark-up?? my younger sister worked at Best Buy during her college years. It was great getting the employee discount which was cost + 10%. The store makes their money off the accessories. I guess it was too good of a deal b/c Best Buy scrapped that discount and now only offers their employees a flat x% discount off the retail price.
  20. The Heat got the benefit of swing fouls/calls. The BS goaltending call in the first half. It was a 8 point game with OKC making a run. Bad call makes it a 10pt game and leads to a big run by Miami. The horrible call against Fisher on Wade when Wade falls to the ground and the refs call Fisher for a foul with 2 seconds on the shot clock. That play happens every game with no whistle. Miami scores on that possession. And we all know about final Durant shot.
  21. If the Heat could trade Lebron for Durant at the start of every 4th quarter, they would be unstoppable.
  22. Didnt look comfortable the entire game but got a point on the road. Should have gotten the 3 though. Did anyone watch it? What was up with the ref calling the foul instead of letting the play continue since Altidore got the ball cleanly. It would have been 2-0 and that wouldve sealed the deal.
  23. Ireland really looked bad tonight. Doesnt appear they'll get any points this tournament.
  24. Tonight + no American Heavyweights = death of boxing in America. RIP Boxing, you had a nice run.
  25. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 6, 2012 -> 07:08 PM) Euro 2012 starts Friday. Just hoping that Poland doesn't embarass themselves on the field with their relatively easy group or on the big stage as host of the tourney. Although with regards to the latter, Ukraine has jumped in the lead with all the stories of awful rampant racism. Poland got in the act by taunting members of the Dutch team today. Awesome selection here UEFA. Group A: Greece and Russia. Weak group and I wouldnt be shocked if Poland played inspired at home and did enough to move on. Group B: Germany and Netherlands Group C: Spain and Croatia. I think Italy will be what France was in South Africa. Ireland may have a shot here if they can get a point from Croatia in the first match. Should be a tight race for second place. Group D: France and Sweden.
