  1. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jun 1, 2012 -> 12:36 AM) Super-duper epic fail at the end of the Bosnia/Mexico match, and Chicharito capitalized. lol, if the Bad News Bears were a soccer team that play would have been written into the script. The guy had so much time that he whiffed twice on the same play.
  2. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 30, 2012 -> 09:56 PM) US playing Brazil pretty well in the final 20 minutes or so. Not getting the results, but still good to have Brazil playing defense. Atleast we look decent attacking. Could have been 4-3 but it also could have been 6-1. Gooch is done. Nothing good happens with him out there. Seems like he plays a big part in every goal allowed a lthough that was a pretty weak penalty awarded. Herc getting more time will be nice. Looked really good out there.
  3. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 30, 2012 -> 11:40 PM) Wow, Wade hits Rondo in the face - no call. Then he comes down and jump kicks Garnett and somehow it's a foul on KG. Why am I watching this? Nice to see the refs call every ticky tack foul until the play with Rondo. The kick looked liked it came just after getting hit on the arm.
  4. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 30, 2012 -> 06:01 PM) 1.) Maybe risky, but not really from my sightlines. He gunned it right at DeAza. Like target practice. Gunned it right in his direction like one of those games at the carnival. 2.) Easy. They already retaliated earlier!!! They were definitely trying to win with intimidation, throwing the ball at a baserunner. Sick. His comment was not emotional. You look at what happened. Explain throwing the ball at DeAza after all had been "settled." Yes because a team is down 4-3 with runners on first and second and no outs and three out away from getting swept is going to take the chance on missing De Aza and putting runners on 2nd and 3rd for Dunn-Konerko-Rios. But it must have been intentional because ESPN's version of Max Mercy said so. Settled? It was and then Quintana threw behind Zobrist. But TB is the ones trying to intimidate their opponents...
  5. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 30, 2012 -> 04:27 PM) They already hit AJ for that. The Rays were trying intimidation for today's game to give them an edge and it turned out scoring more runs than your opponent was actually how you win. Rays trying for intimidation? lol How is a team trying to be the ones intimidating teams when they get even for a cheap shot and then get a ball throw behind one of their batters? Ease up on the emotions and take a step back and actually look at what happened.
  6. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ May 30, 2012 -> 04:45 PM) That is a passionate Sox fan right there. I think Wimpy feared for his safety. I would love to hear him on the plane ride home. Quintana with some major points today. major points for what? being a b****? AJP took a cheap shot at Zobrist and got hit for it. That should be end of story. Man up and take it and move on. Beckham wasnt hit on purpose. Who plunks someone when the count is 0-2, especially when that hitter wasnt part of the problem? No one does. When did baseball become full of pansy players?
  7. awesome catch but what kind of s***-ass field has a fence that is like 2ft high?
  8. well Miami benefits for having a nice reputation as host and is rewarded a host site. Not worthy of it but I'll take it. I was kinda looking forward to seeing Miami possibly head out of state for their regional. Appears the NCAA is getting bored with the Miami-Florida pairings.
  9. So anyone watching some of the friendlies? The US just dismantled Scotland the other night. Nice debut for Landon under Jurgen. Torres looked really good and looks like Fabian Johnson is going to secure a spot on the back line. I know Scotland isnt some world beater but it was refreshing to see our team play with some creativity. Brazil and at Canada this week before WCQ begins on the 8th.
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 28, 2012 -> 01:37 PM) WGN is showing AAA baseball, they have the Padres/Cubs later today. looks like I'll be watching Ukraine-Estonia soccer on ESPN Deportes until the Rays game then.
  11. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 27, 2012 -> 11:45 PM) Do they ever open their dome? That will suck playing dome games. How can ANY fans go watch baseball in a dome? I'd never do so. Horrible. uhh, its easy to watch baseball in a dome when its 95 degrees out with 100% humidity. The dome may look like garbage but I really like watching baseball in the Trop.
  12. So its Memorial Day and there isnt any day games on national tv other than MLB Network?
  13. what are the signs of someone who probably wont be leaving a tip at the bar?
  14. QUOTE (The Critic @ May 26, 2012 -> 12:48 AM) I liked both games, but 16" was always way more challenging IMO because you don't have a glove to help you. In the leagues I played in we had a bunch of guys who could crush a 16" ball - we had guys going 250' or more the opposite way. The weirdest tournament I played in was a 16" tourney with gloves allowed. Half the guys refused the gloves because they weren't used to playing that way. So people dont wear gloves when playing 16" softball? I have no idea because I havent played in a softball game since PE in 7th grade.
  15. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ May 23, 2012 -> 08:55 AM) I have a pretty good source that tells me that ND is not seriously considering joining the Big 12. Too much of an alumni base in the Midwest and Northeast to join any conference other than the Big Ten or ACC. which just shows you how little the ACC cares about football. If the ACC cared at all about football, they would put the full court press on ND and just crush the Big 12's hopes of being the 4th mega conference.
  16. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 22, 2012 -> 09:08 AM) For a 6th/7th round pick, it's worth a shot... I don't think it's that bad of a move Not a good fit when your team has young QBs.
  17. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 21, 2012 -> 11:56 AM) Kellen Winslow looks to be on the market. Good riddance. His 70 catches isnt worth the crucial penalties he gets called for every week, the fumbling of the ball, the screaming at the QB when he isnt the first option. I believe he kinda bullied Freeman last year into throwing him the ball. Seemed like most of Freeman's INTs last season were from trying to force passes into Winslow.
  18. QUOTE (danman31 @ May 20, 2012 -> 04:15 AM) Good drama regarding Bayern's late goal and Chelsea's answer (and to some extend Robben's blown PK), but Chelsea is boring. They aren't good enough to play with good teams so they just defend and pray. Napoli's lack of experience cost them against Chelsea when they had them dead to rights. Chelsea put 9 in the box to defend Barca and got away with it. Against Bayern they got lucky while Munich flubbed chance after chance until PKs. This is like the 06 Cards winning the World Series. They weren't a good team, but have the crown somehow. After the first 60 minutes, I figured Chelsea was going to fluke their way into a goal because Bayern had too many chances. Just couldnt get a shot past the wall of defenders in the box. Seemed like Chelsea was hoping to get this to PKs from the start. Even in AET, Chelsea had no intentions on scoring.
  19. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ May 15, 2012 -> 03:56 PM) Word coming out that Timmy Chandler may not be seen in a USMNT uniform again. That would be a big blow Klinsmann needs to get Johnson/Williams/Boyd/Diskerud/Bunbury/etc WCQ caps as soon as he can to tie them to the US Sucks but I cant really be upset at him too much. Young kid who is German and wants to keep his options open. He just needs tor realize Germany might not have any intentions of calling him up and he might see his international career pass by. Only get so many opportunities to play in a World Cup...
  20. QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ May 14, 2012 -> 07:44 PM) Barron is handling this terribly. If the BOT wants him gone, it will happen. how so?
  21. FSU looks stuck in the ACC. The BOT can talk about leaving but the President doesnt appear to be interested. Plus I doubt they are going to want to pay the $20+ million exit fee. link
  22. 1. Metrodome, Minnesota Vikings 2. Nassau Coliseum, New York Islanders 3. Tropicana Field, Tampa Bay Rays 4. Qualcomm Stadium, San Diego Chargers 5. O.Co Coliseum, Oakland Raiders 6. Candlestick Park, San Francisco 49ers 7. Edward Jones Dome, St. Louis Rams 8. Fenway Park, Boston Red Sox 9. U.S. Cellular Field, Chicago White Sox 10. Dodgers Stadium, Los Angeles Dodgers link
  23. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 10, 2012 -> 11:12 PM) Money, would be all I can think. The only reason I mentioned it was that back when the whole AM thing went down, there were some rumors Big wanted to try and go after ACC schools. I honestly think the ACC would rather do away with football for the most part and just concentrate on basketball. With the football appearing to be headed towards the 4 super conferences, I was wondering if the 4th conference would be the ACC or Big 12. Looks like the Big 12 will be that conference so it should be interesting to see how it all shakes out now. If it goes down, it sounds like FSU would want Miami to follow them and GT be the 4th team with Clemson. What teams did you hear to be rumored on the Big 10's radar? I would think Pittsburgh would be interested in leaving since they care about their football program.
  24. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 10, 2012 -> 10:48 PM) What would happen to ACC? Turn to basketball conference? Or do you think UNC starts to listen to the Big10s pitch? It's already a basketball conference that really doesnt care about anyone other than the Carolina schools. Which is why FSU is always looking elsewhere. Have no clue why UNC would listen to other conferences.
  25. QUOTE (Heads22 @ May 10, 2012 -> 07:44 PM) I so wish the FSU and Clemson to the Big 12 rumors were true. Just don't think that it'll happen. That Big 12 would be badass. Sounds like it might depend on if FSU and Clemson can get 2 other teams from the ACC to follow to form an Eastern division.
