ESPN Feature on AJ
I was in a restaurant tonight and ESPN was on, around 6:30 pm Central time, and they had a 3 or 4 minute feature on AJ. I couldn't hear any of it, but it looked good. Anyone else see it, and can we somehow find it on line? Any help?

Dog Day
Right field outfield seats. I know they sell a limited amount of tickets that allow people to accompany their dogs - def not just season tix, but they do go fast. I've gone just to walk through and visit with the dog lovers out there. It's really weird but fun weird.

KW: Looking for leadoff hitters in 2009 draft
KW's words are subject to another interpretation here. My take on it was he was going to ask his scouts to look at guys in other organizations that he could trade for - guys a year or two away. At the moment he may feel that he could spin one of these younger pitchers - Richards, the Yankee guys, etc., - into a Posednik in training.

Roster glut hypotheticals
QUOTE (flavum @ Feb 11, 2009 -> 09:28 PM) Barring a move, I think Owens would have to be awful not to be the opening day leadoff hitter/CF. They're going to give him one last shot at this. I believe Owens is totally capable of being awful. He's also shown the ability to injure himself out of contention.

Baseball Books
Two excellent books were written by Jim Brosnan, former Cardinal, Cub, Sox, Reds reliever. The first was called The Long Season, and the second was Pennant Race. The first was actually the first of its kind, a day to day diary of a ball player's life.

Sox have inside track on Abreu
QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Dec 11, 2008 -> 01:43 PM) The reason we won in 2005 was outstanding starting pitching. Please review their stats and show me the mediocrity in that bunch. Let me help you out, that teams offense wasn't good. It got hot at the right time. But for most of the year was carried by the best pitching we have had. Not just the starters - a truly outstanding bullpen.

OCT. 23, 2005: A GREAT DAY
I've seen over a thousand games, and there is no doubt it was the best game I have ever seen, or will ever see. Walking on the outfield concourse after PK's homer, with Don't Stop Believing pounding out on the loudspeakers - still gives me shivers. '

Sox off-season outlook
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 9, 2008 -> 07:54 PM) Wow, a 4 lefty rotation to start the season. Man that'd be weird. Have we ever seen that before? Around 1978 or so, we had Kravec, Baumgarten, Wortham and Trout. Team sucked.

Complaints about TBS
Early in the game, maybe around the third inning, Dick Stockton said that the Cubs won the 1906 World Series. How hard is it to remember who won the only World Series in history featuring these two teams? Geez.

Broadway starting sunday...
Is there any reason we couldn't start Adam Russell, let him throw three or four innings? He's been effective generally, and it seems to me underused. We've got a gazillion pitchers to get through the game.

Baseball Prospectus
Coolstandings.com makes it 52% to 48%, down 16% since yesterday morning. Tampa Bay better kick Minny's ass next week.
