Cubs Expected to Hire Pinella
That wouldn't surprise me a bit if Lou Pinella went to the Cubs. As I am said before, managing don't make any difference to the Cubs the trouble is ownership.

1908 World Series Anniversary
The Chicago Cubs, the symbol of baseball ineptness for 98 years. I wonder if the Cubs will hold a celebration in 2008 in honor of the last time the Cubs won the World Series. Even though they will probably finish in last place. (again)

Rock won't be back
If it would have been up to me I would have put Raines as 3rd base coach, and got rid of Joey Cora.

Steve "Psycho" Lyons fired from Fox for racial insensitive c
I always thought he was a good analyst but you can't make comments like that on the air and get by with it. As much as I alway liked Lyons, he got what was coming.

Detroit Tigers World Series Thread
It looks like the Tigers are going to sweep the A's. I sure didn't expect Oakland to play this bad.

Rock won't be back
It will be interesting to see who Ozzie chooses as his bench coach.

Rock won't be back
I am starting to think Tim Raines might not have gotten along with KW. Or perhaps he said something.

Rock won't be back
QUOTE(Soxfest @ Oct 13, 2006 -> 08:05 PM) Rock goes but Cora stays not suprised but disappointed! I was hoping the Sox would have let Cora go! I'm disappointed in that also.

Rock won't be back
QUOTE(Mplssoxfan @ Oct 13, 2006 -> 05:51 PM) I thought they moved Harold to first and Rock to the bench because Harold was leaving at the end of the year. Of course, I could be misremembering things. I'd dig up the thread, but I'm far too lazy. That's what I recall from during the season. I'm glad the Harold will be back he's my all time favorite White Sox. However I am deeply saddened that Tim Raines is leaving us, he was another of my favorites. I would like to see Robin Ventura come on as a coach, it might be a long shot but it would be nice.

Joey Cora
QUOTE(Soxfest @ Oct 11, 2006 -> 10:08 AM) Cora can go............ see ya ................never was a fan of him as a player or a coach! That's two of us!! I never liked Cora either. I just hope that they don't decide to take Dusty Baker instead.

Soxtalk Hacked
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Oct 10, 2006 -> 05:48 PM) The message has been cleaned up, but it will probably take a couple days until we get it back to 100% (just cause I think we are all swamped for time). You guys do a great job at keeping the site safe for us. Thanks a bunch for all your hard work!

Detroit Tigers World Series Thread
Tigers are up 2 games to none. I doubt very much if the Tigers will Sweep the A's even with the next 3 if necessary in Detroit.

Soriano rejects $70m/5 years
An article on Yahoo sports now says that the National deny saying that Soriano rejected the offer. So I guess only time will tell what is up with that deal.
-
new weeknight start time
I'm not so sure that $500,000 would be enough for the Sox to switch the starting time to 7:11. Sounds a little crazy to me.

Cory Lidle, NY plane crash victim.
What a shame. RIP Cory. My prayers are with your family.

Daisuke Matsuzaka
He would be nice to have but I think our chances of landing him are very slim.

Torre's Job is Safe
I always liked Joe Torre as a manager. I'm glad his job is safe. Steinbrenner must like Torre any other manager would have been long gone.
-
A-Rod, what's the asking price
My dad would like to see the Sox get A-Rod. However, I say not at the expense of Crede, we have a good infield. Let's improve the bullpen first.

Torre's Job is Safe
QUOTE(RME JICO @ Oct 9, 2006 -> 05:56 AM) Torre is just the scapegoat. The pitching sucked for NY. Hopefully this desperate situation will make A-Rod more affordable for the Sox. Cashman is going to be wheeling and dealing. I agree. Torre is taking the heat for it all, the manager always does. Their pitching wasn't the greatest, and I have seen better Yankee teams then this one.

San Diego Padres Playoff Thread
Cardinals will have their hands full with the Mets. Although I am for the Cardinals in that series.

Torre's Job is Safe
It wouldn't surprise me a bit to see the Cubs try and get Joe Torre as manager. It wouldn't make any difference in the Cubs anyhow, they would still be losers.

San Diego Padres Playoff Thread
Padres are gone.

Another NY Subway Series?
Won't happen this year. Yankees are gone!
-
A-Rod, what's the asking price
I'd make an offer for A-Rod also but not at the expense of Crede.

Congratulations to the Tigers
Next up for the Tigers is the Oakland A's and Frank Thomas. Congratulations Tigers. Looks to me like Alex Rodriguez will be gone from the Yankees next season.
