  1. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jun 29, 2014 -> 12:36 PM) We had the worst 8/9 hitters yesterday and now we have the worst 7/8/9 hitters. Pathetic Yesterday you were talking about the Jays 8/9....Their 8 hit a HR. Today our 8 hit a HR
  2. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jun 28, 2014 -> 11:01 PM) lol why did you quote my post from the gamethread today? Whoops, didn't even notice it....Forgot what I was even gonna say, something about the Mastroianni HR....Post will be edited....carry on.
  3. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 28, 2014 -> 10:21 PM) @blasondamadrid: R.Madrid (1). Mirotic jugó el jueves su último partido con la camiseta del Madrid. Operación NBA en marcha. La próxima semana viaja a EEUU. non-fluent Spanish speaker translation: Mirotic has played his last game for Madrid, and he heads to the USA next week. @blasondamadrid: Real Madrid (2). Como contó Fernando Ruiz (@fernan_ruiz), Mirotic tenía tomada la decisión hace semanas. El club recibirá 2,5 millones. Mirotic had decided this weeks ago. Madrid gets 2.5 million. There are more tweets, but the gist of it is that Mirotic is ready to go to the NBA right now, and he will come pretty much no matter what the Bulls are paying. If his and Dougie McBuckets games can translate into the NBA, this team, even before they add anything else, will be a really fun to watch.
  4. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 28, 2014 -> 12:15 PM) Just saw where Barrett got hurt. Wasn't really Swaggers fault. Barrett went shoulder first into the barricade rather than back. Still sucks Looked to me like Colter being in the way mighta threw them both off a bit.
  5. Bachynski playing for the Hornets....Que the trombone...
  6. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 27, 2014 -> 07:54 PM) Sox 3-2 Hawk is slipping badly. To be fair that ball really looked like it was caught.....At least to me anyway.
  7. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 27, 2014 -> 01:13 PM) They were a horrendous defensive team all 4 years he was there and he was a big part of it. I'm actually not overly worried about that cause if Thibs is going to play him then he'll find a way to hide him on the defensive end. And McDermott did indeed test better athletically than people thought he would but that's where you have to watch game film. He plays below the rim and doesn't blow by any one on dribble penetration. He's going to have to use his smarts and angles(which he's better at than anyone I've ever seen) to get his shot off and score in the league. He's got that Dirk fade on lock too.
  8. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 27, 2014 -> 12:44 PM) Thibs thinks McBuckets can become a decent defender. If they really didn't believe that , I doubt they pick him up. He tested out a lot better athletically than probably most thought he would. That he did. His vertical is actually higher than Rodney Hood and James Young, 2 guys some here would have rather had. His 3/4 sprint was also quicker than Hoods(Young did not compete). Gary Harris, another guy most wanted, also gets knocked for his lack of athleticism didn't compete in any drills.
  9. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 27, 2014 -> 10:05 AM) But at the same time, decent to good athletic centers tend to get scooped up quickly in the NBA, no? Remember when you and RZZZA (that guy) were arguing with me that the Bulls need to bring in the euroleague MVP and he can dunk and stuff? Where is that guy now? I get your argument as a whole but, said euroleague MVP, Patrick Beverly, just finished playing 30+ min per game for a playoff team so that was pretty weak to bring up. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 27, 2014 -> 10:09 AM) Look at the contracts of NBA centers, and tell me why if this guy had the goods, he wouldn't have been a first round pick. Again I couldn't tell you why he was undrafted other than the fact that this was pretty deep draft....Like Rock keeps saying, the draft is all about opinion, and IMO a guy like Bachynski or Young could play at the NBA level....Same for Deandre Kane who I really think hurt his stock with the injury. I'm not saying these guys will ever be starters, I'm calling for 1 to take over the Nazr "I'm just a big guy playin D" role and another to be the 3rd PG.
  10. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 27, 2014 -> 09:53 AM) Why wasnt he drafted? Couldn't tell ya....Draft was just crazy deep. Like the announcers were saying there was 1st round talent in the 2nd round so you gotta figure there's some good talent going undrafted. Dude had 344 career blocks in 122 games....
  11. How can you not like this guy and think Thibs could turn him into a solid backup center....Between him and Young I think there's a solid backup center out there. I remember bringing his name up during the college season and I really liked him ever since...
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 27, 2014 -> 09:31 AM) Bring them into camp, stash them on a D league team, whatever. But don't expect a thing from them because odds are near 100% you never hear from them again. Meh, with how much Nazr played last year I think you can grab a guy like Young and he'd give you just as much. A 3rd PG like a Kane or a Bryce Cotton, god willing, wouldn't see the court but can learn under Thibs for awhile wouldn't be the worst thing in the world either. Kane looked like a really good player, and I think his injury really hurt his draft stock.....Where's the ISU fan to give his thoughts??
  13. I know it may be a little crazy to be craving UDFAs (I'm sure Rowand/Kyyle will bring up my love for the "independent worker") but there a few half way decent guys still out there. Patric Young was a guy I thought for sure would be drafted and he makes some sense. If not him then there's 2 other massive centers out there in Jordan Bachynski (7'2") and Sim Bhullar (7'5") that would be very interesting to see what Thibs can do with.. Also wouldn't mind seeing Deandre Kane picked up as the #3 PG behind Rose/?.
  14. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 26, 2014 -> 09:29 PM) The Bulls can scout and draft, that the front office's best attribute. I can't criticize a pick when they know a hell lot more about scouting than I do and have a great track record. Ya, I'll trust the FO on this one. Though I still think he could be a piece in a Love/Melo deal. If not, and he's Wally Z like they were comparing him to the I'd be happy if he stays. Defense is not something I'd worry about, I mean we've been talking about getting Melo...
  15. Wouldn't rule out the possibility that the Bulls were told that Minny or NY like him and he could be on the move.... He seems like a player the TWolves would like.
  16. Jeff Goodman ‏@GoodmanESPN 1m Doug McDermott has been traded to Chicago for 16 and 19, sources told ESPN.
  17. Sam Amick ‏@sam_amick 1m I'm told Doug McDermott will head to Chicago via trade with Denver. Getting more details now. Well then....
  18. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jun 26, 2014 -> 07:08 PM) You should no better than to go on Twitter during a draft if you don't want spoilers. But, but, trade rumors! ugh Chad Ford is getting the unfollow as well....those are the only 2 spoiling things
  19. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 26, 2014 -> 06:56 PM) Um twitter just spoiled the 4th pick for me and wow. Woj has spoiled every pick so far.....think I'm gonna unfollow.
  20. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 26, 2014 -> 02:39 PM) I'm saying as a talent. I'm talking season as a whole and he was playing really good for UCLA down the stretch in PAC 10 play. Wasn't focused as much on scoring as just overall game. He's raw with serious upside. He'd be the type of guy you stash and develop through practice but his defensive upside is the reason you can probably eventually get Thibbs to buy into him. More then anything right now we need shooting and Lavine doesn't address that right now so for the Bulls they probably don't take him, but I think he has as much, if not more, pure upside then anyone else at those spots in the draft. Note: Like anyone as raw as he was, you were going to have your bad games too, which he had plenty of offensively during the season. He had 8 games where he scored double digits in his final 28 games. He was dreadful. Athleticism is through the roof, but again, how many uber athletes did the Spurs have?
