  1. It has lead to "blow ups" twice this season. I have been Danks biggest fan here but I'm sure those games will pop up now and then, but I think more oten then not he'll be what we saw his last 5 starts. His velo, I believe is about the same as it was last year, I just think he's "learned how to pitch", and that is making the difference.
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 20, 2014 -> 12:28 PM) The Bulls aren't going to top that. Agreed. Only way they're topping that is if they include Noah and Mirotic. Which as I said in the other thread, I'd do all day because it give you the chance to sign another star.
  3. So the latest Love rumor is Thompson/Lee/1R pick for Love/Martin.....Still think giving up Noah is too much?
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 20, 2014 -> 09:16 AM) We've gotten a few of the "Let's do it!" posts out of the way, so let's add the harder question. You up for 6/$100? If they agree with that Peter B guys assessment that he's better than Puig? Absolutely..... It is of course not my money to spend though =p
  5. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jun 20, 2014 -> 09:10 AM) Peter Bjarkman, pretty much the authority on Cuban baseball had this to say about him a year ago: Better than Puig??!! Kid must be something else. Gimme.
  6. I actually watched some of TNA for the first time in awhile...It was turrable sans that tag match...The Dreamer promo was pretty good too even though I didn't really know the back story.
  7. Wonder if the M's would be open to trading Hultzen...He's injured, and not gonna pitch all year so maybe they're down on him a bit. As a former #2 overall I doubt it but I think they'd trade him before Walker.
  8. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 18, 2014 -> 08:28 PM) While Beck, Johnson, and Johnson isn't a giant haul, there is no way that David Price would sign long-term. The Sox aren't ready to win. It would be a stupid trade. Also, I'd definitely trade Ramirez. I'd need a nice haul but there is no way that Seattle would give the Sox Tijuan Walker. Not gonna happen. They're a lot closer than you think, if they can sell him on that I don't see why he wouldn't sign long term.
  9. I'm not holding my breath, but I don't see why not. I know if I were him I'd wanna play here.
  10. Highly doubt they could get Walker for Lexi, but we can dream right....I know we already have a ton of lefties but I think Paxton is a lot more realistic. Maybe something like Paxton and Merlette as the key pieces.
  11. Sale has given up 2 hits in an inning...it's time to pull him
  12. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 18, 2014 -> 01:54 PM) De Aza's OBP is somewhat impressive considering his awful batting average. His June numbers are ridiculous so far.... .333/.417/.567 and that is before that triple OPS nearing 1.000
  13. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Jun 18, 2014 -> 01:21 PM) Start times should be standard in game threads. Starts right meow.... 2 down, 2Ks for Sale.
  14. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 18, 2014 -> 12:50 PM) Rollins is in it. Ambrose and Kane seem like locks after last night. Not sure who else fills it out. Bo Dallas, RVD, Dolph because he's over and Kofi just because I can't think of 7 people on the roster deserving. So what the hell is the card? Usos vs Wyatts, 2 MITB matches. That's it. I guess divas 5 minute match and a Rusev one minute squash. But yeah. Barrett probably gets in as well. I'd love to see Rusev in there as well. It'll be interesting to see the other matches.
  15. There will indeed be a 2nd ladder match at MiTB...Very excite.
  16. And if they wanted a defensive player to hit ~.200 they already have Danks in the minors.
  17. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 18, 2014 -> 11:58 AM) I am not a Gar/Pax hater, but if they fail to land the big one this year, it is a pattern. Trying is great, but that's for kids. Results are all that matters. If they can't land the big names, it would be time for Jerry and Michael Reinsdorf to hire someone who can. It really makes you wonder where this team would have been if they getting get crazy lucky getting DRose. And I'll join the hate as well if they fail to land Love/Melo/Lebron or to a lesser extent Bosh/Parsons AND another solid guy. I think with Taj being told it's time for him to start it's a foregone conclusion that they will do something this offseason. It sucks this core was never healthy enough to see what they could have done but I just can't blame injuries on the FO.
  18. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 18, 2014 -> 11:30 AM) Last reply in this thread, let's move it over. Idea is that Paxson is very much involved in direction of team's personnel. I would say Forman probably leads scouting and development but this is very much a Paxson team still. Do you have anything at all to base that on? Weren't we all kinda saying the same thing about KW/Hahn? But now that we're actually doing some good things all praise goes to Hahn. Whatever though, we can be done with this, I'm sure there's no changing the minds of those who hate this FO so I'm just wearing out my fingers here.
  19. I still think ADA will turn it around. It was crazy looking at dudes numbers from the previous 3 years....Dude batted .323 with an OPS over .900 w/ RISP.
  20. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 18, 2014 -> 11:19 AM) There's a reason GarPax is a thing. You'll have to explain this one to me, I can honestly say that the 2010 team is what brought me back to basketball. I will admit that I didn't watch much of the dark days post Jordan. Are you saying Pax is still making the moves? Or Gar was making the moves even before 09?
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 18, 2014 -> 11:12 AM) They have missed out on every single big move over the last 10-15 years. It is easier to say which ones they hit on. Draft Rose. Gar Forman has been the GM since 09....I thought we were talking about THIS FO? This to me is like blaming Hahn for moves KW made.
  22. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 18, 2014 -> 11:00 AM) It isn't about logic, it is about their history. They have not been able to pull of the "big" move. I would sure be happy if they proved me wrong. I guess I just don't understand what they could have done differently. If all this falls on the fact they didn't get Lebron to play here then that's silly. Those guys had a plan and there was nothing the Bulls could have done about it. They then got the next best FA and proceeded to be one of the "winningest" teams in the NBA. No they didn't win a title with said team but that's because their star player has been made of pyrek. We never got to see how far the team they assembled could have really gone. What other big moves have they missed out on?
  23. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 18, 2014 -> 10:49 AM) Of course I have little faith. This is the Bulls front office we are talking about. I absolutely hate this logic, but whatever. DA, why do you think it'd take a sign and trade?
  24. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 18, 2014 -> 10:15 AM) Bill Simmons tweeting that the Celts are in the lead to land Love with the Warriors not wanting to rid K. Thompson and Bulls focusing on Melo. And the race to end up with neither begins. Ye have little faith...want a cookie? I'm fairly confident, for whatever reason, they'll get one of the 2. Melo probably makes the more sense since he's probably opting out so it wouldn't cost them draft picks and it wouldn't require completely gutting the team.
