  1. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jun 22, 2014 -> 12:09 PM) A high 2nd round draft choice as a relief pitcher? I believe he means this year. If pitchers pitched a lot already in college/HS, sometimes they'll start them out in the pen after being drafted. I'm sure he'll be a starter long term.
  2. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Jun 21, 2014 -> 08:23 PM) I don't think the #16 plus non guaranteed deals is going to get it done for Affallo, the guy was almost an All - Star this season. Think the Bulls would have to package up both their 1st rounders to get something done here. I tend to agree. Looking at your depth chart, how do you guys feel about Harris/Harkless? Any interest in Butler and one of the picks? I'm sure you guys would really like Taj but I'd be hesitant to make that deal.
  3. If they look to add a FA bat this offseason I'm looking for a LH bat to replace Dunn....V. Martinez, Sandoval, Lind, Seth Smith, Rasmus, or maybe Adam Laroach if they push to compete next year., would be the guys I'm looking at in that order.
  4. QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Jun 21, 2014 -> 07:35 PM) Melo is nice, but I'd like to get greedy and get both Love and Affalo. Would like to see if we have enough trade chips to get both. If all Magic is looking for is a first rounder, we can package Dunleavy, combination of James, Amundson and Brewer and the 16th pick for Affalo. For Love, we will offer the rights to Mirotic, the carcass of Carlos Boozer, the 19th pick, first rounder next year, and the rights to the Kings pick for K Love. If we can somehow get Love without losing the defensive value of Taj and Jimmy, this team is going to be tremendous. Noah-Love-Butler-Affalo-Rose with Taj, Snell coming off the bench would be fun to watch. If the rumors of Golden State offering Thompson AND Lee for Love then that deal won't be enough. If that rumor is true then it's gonna take Noah to get Love.....Even if they're not true and he could be had for a lesser pack I think they'd want at least 1 of Butler or Taj to go along with Mirotic....Even then I feel like that won't get it done.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 21, 2014 -> 04:00 PM) I'm a fan of his outside shooting, especially if it is in comparison to Butler. Ya, Afflalo would be a great fit for this team IMO.
  6. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 21, 2014 -> 03:58 PM) LOL it already begins. This is why bulls front office behaves the way they do. I mean seriously, if Melo and Lebron stay put what can you do? Unless you wanna trade Noah+ for Love which you're already against. This isn't Xbox where they can force these things to happen.
  7. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jun 21, 2014 -> 03:32 PM) Chicago White Sox ‏@whitesox 41m #WhiteSox 1B Jose Abreu has not hit safely in a season-high six straight games. Lol even the Sox twitter page is awful...."Not" should be "Now"
  8. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 21, 2014 -> 02:49 PM) Anything short of landing a 2nd superstar is a failure IMO. And what if Melo and Lebron decide to stay with their respective teams? Are you willing to give Noah for Love? If not there is simply nothing they could have done, but I'm sure we'll still hear it. Now if Melo and Lebron hit the market, and Love gets traded for a package that's worse than what the Bulls could have offered, and the Bulls end up with none of em, then yes, it will be a failure, and I'll join the FO hate bandwagon.
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 21, 2014 -> 01:17 PM) I could convince myself that will cover Mirotic, the draft picks, a MLE-level guy for bench depth, and an extension for Butler. That could push them right back to over the cap. Meh, I guess there's no swaying people so I'm just gonna let it ride. Looking more into Afflalo more, he seems to really make since for this team. If all goes wrong and 1. LBJ stays in Miami and Melo stays in NY (Nothing we can do about that), and 2. we don't wanna trade Noah+ for Love (which most here don't wanna do) then I'd have no problem with Afflalo being the major piece brought in......He was a borderline All Star last year and the Bulls would be able to build a really strong bench with the extra money they save. Again not my first choice, but not a bad choice.
  10. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 21, 2014 -> 12:58 PM) If the bulls wanted to land superstars they could land them. They don't want to. I just can't understand why people think this is true.....Are they not said to be interested in Melo? *Grumble grumble* It's all lies!!! 9/11 was an inside job!
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 21, 2014 -> 12:36 PM) That my head tells me the only thing that will be interesting is how many pages of disagreement we get before the Bulls sign Mirotic, make 2 draft picks, and call it an offseason. With Taj being told he's gonna start it's obvious they will amnesty Boozer, that's 15M off the books. Do you really think they're just gonna sit on that?
  12. 1/3rd of an inning for Rodriguez down in the Arizona League..... 2 hits, 2 walk, 3 runs....The Arizona League, for those who don't know, is a rookie league.
  13. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 20, 2014 -> 01:37 PM) OMG BULLS TRADE FOR AFLLALOLOL Basketball Insiders ‏@BBallInsiders 12m Sources: Bulls Pursuing Arron Afflalo: The Chicago Bulls are pursuing a trade for Orlando Magic swingman Arron I have no clue if that twitter account is legit or not but it does have 10K followers.....Hopefully this is in addition to Melo and they aren't JUST going after Afflalo. If they could really just get Melo for Boozer and a pick then get Afflalo for Butler and a pick or something along those lines, that'd be incredible. Afflalo is up there with Jimmy defensively but brings much more offense along with him.....Rose-Afflalo-Melo-Taj-Noah would be sick.
  14. The quote is a little ridiculous but Mauer is batting .429 vs Downs....So there's that.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 20, 2014 -> 10:43 PM) In the 8 games he's allowed runs, 5 of them have been multiple innings. His WHIP in these long outings has not been good either. And he's allowed the same amount of runs in 1 inning games. Pitching him multi innings has worked the last 7 times out, it just didn't work out this time, it sucks, but that's baseball. I'm not trying to make excuses, just pointing it out.. I think some of the hindsight bashing is ridiculous on this board.
  16. In Webbs last 7 multi inning outings he had allowed 0 rounds.
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 20, 2014 -> 10:28 PM) He's been just awful this season also. Him and Ventura kept getting caught unprepared for what might happen next. That's fine if you wanna see he's been horrible as well. I just don't think Ventura should be the only one catching heat when I can almost bet that Coop has a big say in managing the pen.
  18. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jun 20, 2014 -> 08:34 PM) Strikeouts for Beck. That's what I like to see. Indeed, pretty good outing for him. 1st inning he gave up 3 runs on 5 singles and a walk....Rest of the way he went 6 innings 1 hit 2 walks 7 Ks.
  19. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 20, 2014 -> 08:17 PM) Noesi has to go team has no chance to win the day he pitches none. That's a little extreme. but ya. an upgrade would be nice.
  20. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jun 20, 2014 -> 03:25 PM) Not yet. Gotta have patience with Viciedo, like Hawk said yesterday, some guys take a little longer to get going. Viciedo just turned 25. Plenty of time for him to turn it around. Problem there, if it really is a problem, is Eaton and Gillaspie would be the only LH bats. (Assuming we're talking Tomas/Eaton/Garcia with Dayan at DH)
  21. That deal would be fantastic....Assuming they want the 16th pick I'd take Jordan Clarkson @ 19. A guy who could backup both Butler and Rose. Then snag Jordan Bachynski in the 2R to backup Noah. Rose/Clarkson/Vet Butler/Clarkson/Snell Melo/Dunleavy/Snell Taj/Mirotic Noah/Bachynski/Smith If they have to trade Dunleavy to make room for Mirotic then sobeit.
  22. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jun 20, 2014 -> 02:19 PM) You mean every now and then he'll have a bad game? I'll live with that from any pitcher. Indeed. As I always like to point out, Danks had 2 starts where he gave up a combined 15 runs....His other 11 have all been quality starts. People keep bringing up his last 5 starts, but really we should be talking about his season as a whole sans those 2 starts.
