  1. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Jan 6, 2014 -> 04:08 PM) I'm co-owner of a courier service, but still bike. We were out there today, but I just shut down our loop service. My toughest bikers were starting to break and a couple of those guys are bad motherf***ers. I've been a messenger for a while and I don't ever remember it being this cold. That wind is just brutal. Yikes, I couldn't even imagine. Thanks for all the help though lads...gonna wait to see whats up tomorrow
  2. QUOTE (StRoostifer @ Jan 6, 2014 -> 03:28 PM) I used to build my own race cars and was an owner operator (truck driver) based on that experience along with cold Chicago weather your either not getting enough juice to the starter from the battery or the starter is is just worn out. When I first bought my own rig 10 years ago one of the first things I was told by other owner operators was that if the rig had any problems they would show when it got very cold over the winter. See if you can find some way of trying to get a jump start, if that doesn't work you most likely need to replace the starter. Is there a guage for the battery juice on the dash? Just the battery light that showed up when I tried starting it....Should be pretty telling as to what the problem is. Main question I had was will it revive itself in the "warmer" weather, and balta answered that. I've got road side assisstence so if hasn't started by ~3p tomorrow I'll go ahead and get in contact with my insurance. Would waiting do more harm?
  3. So in other words, it's more than likely the battery....Will it "revive" itself when it gets warmer (don't really NEED it till Wednesday) or will it need a jump regardless.
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 6, 2014 -> 02:04 PM) What happens when you turn the key? It tries to start, doesn't click. It's kind of a slow drawn out attempt at starting
  5. QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 6, 2014 -> 07:40 AM) You know there are pics of naked women online, right? I don't think I was ever into wrestling as a teen as much as you are now and it was a lot better when I was younger. Lol well excuse me for trying to broaden your guys horizons. I assumed everyone in this thread liked wrestling and would have enjoyed to see a really fun 11 minute match that featured some really good talent.
  6. Sigh, my car won't start. Gas gauge is just a bit lower than half a tank. Single car house, ghetto neighborhood where I don't know anyone around so I can't really jump it. Will the problem fix itself as it gets "warmer" or will it no doubt need to be jumped at some point? Add a gallon of gas??? Any other tips?
  7. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jan 5, 2014 -> 10:08 PM) Yes, but you have to stay under the tax line when signing the player to have the full MLE available. That means they have to stay in the $65-66 mil range on the rest of your players, which is difficult with 4 guys making $60 mil-ish and without counting any picks. Where is that number after the amnesty of Boozer?
  8. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 5, 2014 -> 09:30 PM) How is Castro defensively? I don't recall seeing anyone mention that part of his game. Haven't read anything bad about his defense. 2009 report from B-A had him as the best defensive catcher in the Astros system. B-P has called him "Pretty great" (I think, I don't subscribe, but it showed up in my search results). Only bad thing I read was the usual, "he should DH because he got hurt" mumbo jumbo.
  9. Yikes, ya that was on Strong....I know he's taken that move more than a few time, no clue why he tucked his head like that. EDIt- Actually, AJ doesn't lay out as much as he usually does, so ya, I don't really know what to think. You f***s gotta check out that NJPW thing I posted... Minute 54 to minute 105 is just so much fun, I'm bout to watch it one mo gain
  10. QUOTE (Jake @ Jan 5, 2014 -> 08:53 PM) I would trade Quintana for Jason Castro without hesitation I tend to agree with you. The pitching staff probably will suffer this year, but next year with Dunn of the books they should be able to relocate that money into a quality #2 or 3 starter. Orrr they can just sign Tanaka.
  11. Not sure if anyone here is interested in this, but yesterdays NJPW PPV was tits. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jthU-1MQbw8 If you only have time for one match, skip forward to about the 44 minute mark (wrestling starts at 54 min mark) for an epic 4 way tag team match between the Young Bucks, Forever Hooligans, Taichi & TAKA Michinoku, and Kushido & Alex Shelley....Shelley and Kushido are called the Time Travelers, and they come out in a real Mclearon. (Sound cuts in and out, but hey, its in Japanese anyway lol) Only an 11 min match but its packed full of fun action. A lot of fun names popped up on this card... The previously mentioned Young Bucks (one of the best tag teams on the planet), Alex Shelley, Taka Michinoku, Alex Koslov, Jushin Thunder Lyger, Luke Gallows/DOC, Rob Conway, a couple Gracies, Great Muta, Shelton Benjamin, and Prince Devitt(Rumored to be on his way to the E), Going to a wrestling event at the Tokyo Dome has, and will always been on my bucket list.
  12. Hope we see some contract structuring like this to the defensive side of the ball.... http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2013-04...le-henry-melton Gimme 2 impact players like that, maybe a mid tier player, and a couple starting rookies on defense and the D should be much better.
  13. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jan 4, 2014 -> 08:53 AM) Louis Nix, anyone? I had him on my little mock draft. I know I've said this at least twice already but, I think it makes a ton of sense. I want a guy who's gonna demand a double team out there on the line. I'm not sure if Paea, Ratliff, or Peppers are those guys anymore. Getting a big hoss out there that demands double teams makes everyones job a little easier. Pass rush should be better because there will be more guys working 1 on 1, and the rush defense should be better as well because he's eating up blockers and letting the LBs run free to the ball carrier. I believe we were talking about how good T'eo looked only because of the monsters he had on the DL, so this is the same idea.
  14. I want in on the fun.... 1R- Louis Nix III DT- Big hoss who is gonna demand double teams which makes the rest of the DL and LBs jobs easier. 2R- Craig Loston SS- Draws comps to last years LSU safety Eric Reid...Obvious need 3R- Jackson Jeffcoat DE- A DE that racked up 80 tackles has got to be good against the run. 4R- Dion Bailey FS- I was gonna add a point about adding a FS in FA but with Bailey here I say fug it, they should be better than what they have. 5R- Deion Belue CB- Depth/Prospect at CB 6R- Russell Bodine OC- Sounds like they want Garza back, here's someone to groom behind him 6R- Marcel Jensen TE- Depth behind MartyB is pretty bad. Jensen would be an intriguing 6R pick Bring in a Vet safety to compete with the rooks and get Michael Bennett in here.
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 3, 2014 -> 05:07 PM) Right now, I think the Bears are extremely far away from an average defense. Farther than they were away from an average offense last year when they spent most of their $20 million in cap space on improving the offense. They don't even have the warm bodies there right now, and the ones they do have are guys like Conte and McClellan. They're gonna have to hit on a couple picks and pick up a FA or 2 but I think they can be "average" next year.
  16. "Report" out that Taker wants Bryan at WM.....That could get pretty fun if Bryan sticks with the Wyatts....Would much rather see Bryan/Michaels, but if Shawn is done then gimme a Wyatts with Bryan vs Taker buildup for a month or 2.
  17. FWIW Styles has indy bookings through March so I'd say chances are slim. Evan Bourne>Styles anyway and he's rumored to return soon, possibly at Rumble.....Probably won't get the push that AJ might should he come over though.
  18. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 1, 2014 -> 01:05 PM) This would be a solid move right now but again it should be done before the start of ST so that guys have some idea of their roles. So you're ok with having a bench of Gillaspie/Keppinger/OF/C....But not Konerko/Keppinger/OF/C?(one of the benches you were against) Who plays SS? Thats was a problem you had before.
  19. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Dec 31, 2013 -> 04:20 PM) There is no chase he is out of title picture game over especially with all the guys coming back for WrestleMania season. We have no idea where this is going, Like others have said Wyatts whole shpeel was taking down the machine, and he spoke of how he never got anywhere behind the fans and such. I would really be shocked if this takes him out of "the chase". Give it a week or 2 before you bad mouth it. To be honest, even though I love him as a performer, the YES gimmick has started to annoy me. I'm ready for him to start something fresh.
  20. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Dec 31, 2013 -> 01:52 PM) Mills played way better than Webb not even close. And Mills was in a much better position to succeed.
  21. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Dec 31, 2013 -> 12:20 PM) When Mills went out the Bears seemed to played better. I like Mills and I hope there is not a thing in the front office to get the draft picks out there. They created opportunities for Britton so he did see the field. They compared Webb to Mills yesterday and the thing that they said was the biggest difference was Mills got a lot more help than Webb got. Coaches are paid to put guys in the best position to succeed and it seemed that at least on the offensive side of the ball they did a good job with it. Out of curiosity, who is they???
  22. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Dec 30, 2013 -> 11:24 AM) Sorry for the delay in response. First and foremost, your mind is in the right place, but I think you're getting in over your head. It's not that you CAN'T do all of that, it's that life will undoubtedly interfere in your ability to do so, derailing everything, which usually leads to stopping altogether. I'd suggest taking a different approach where you set daily goals on both the high and low end. For example: On Monday your goal is to do Yoga, but let's pretend something comes up and you won't have an hour to do so. IF that happens, you still do Yoga, but choose a shorter workout, even if that means breaking from the "plan". If you were scheduled to do a 47 minute Yoga workout (high end goal), do a 20 minute one instead (low end goal). So long as you hit ONE of those goals, you'll find it easier to stick to a workout plan. Other than that, there is nothing wrong with your plan, since it's the plan YOU want to do. It's always easier to do exercises that you want to do, versus doing exercises you hate doing, but know you should do. (If that makes any sense.) Now, that said, 50% of this is diet. You want to lose weight fast? I can tell you how to do it in a healthy way, but many people don't like it. And no, it doesn't involve starving yourself to death, either. It's what I call junk salad eating, and I do it all the time. I've shed 15 lbs of fat and went down a few inches on my waist doing this. Next time you head to the grocery store, hit the produce isle. The key here is all you're looking for is sale items. Buy the cheapest fruits and vegetables they have (berries, avocados, tomatoes, cucumbers, peaches, apples, onions), it doesn't matter what. Buy some mixed greens, again, the cheapest stuff they happen to have that day. Some sunflower seeds, or almond slices (cheapest again), some extra virgin olive oil, seasalt and cracked pepper (odds are you already have salt/pepper). Buy some cheap boneless/skinless chicken breast, you can usually find great sales on this stuff and freeze a ton of it so you don't have to keep buying more. Marinate them in your favorite bbq sauce or marinade and cook it up. You can make enough for a few servings so you don't have to cook it every time, too. Just make sure it's done. Take all that produce you bought, cut it up, toss it into a bowl, throw in some sunflower seeds, toss in a serving of that chicken breast, and cut up the salad just the same. You'll eat 2x as much salad if you cut it up vs letting it sit there all fluffy, it's also easier to eat this way. If you do it this way, it won't get old, because the sale items change on a weekly basis...so the salad you ate this week won't contain the same fruits/vegetables as the ones you have next week. You're dressing is olive oil, salt and pepper. Nothing more. Whatever you were going to eat for that meal that day, eat that instead. And do that every day. Replace one meal with that one. Along with your workouts, the weight will drop, and you won't feel hungry. Note that the goal isn't to "lose weight", it's to better your life. Losing weight just happens to be an awesome side effect of this decision. The key is being realistic. I'm not going to tell you to stop drinking, or to stop eating pizza, etc. Set realistic goals you can meet everyday with your workouts, and on those days you feel extra lazy, get up and do a short yoga workout just to remind yourself of these goals. Good stuff here, thanks for all the info......At this point, I have no excuses to cut workouts short, at least for the next 2 or 3 months anyway. My sister just started working not to long ago and I'm stuck playing family taxi until she gets a car around tax return. So I quite literally have all the time in the world.....Only thing that's gonna stop me is my body. The plan is to follow my previous post, but I may have to throw in an another off day, and perhaps forget about the weights all together for now.
  23. Had no clue Bassit can fire it up there at 96 if need be. I thought he was following in the foot steps of Axelrod and Leesman as guys who were soft tossing guys who somehow made it through the minors with great success using smoke and mirrors.
  24. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Dec 30, 2013 -> 07:31 PM) Look, aside from Wilson and the OL I don't see anyone getting much better on offense. Jeffrey could (wouldn't that be ridiculous?) but I'm not counting on it. The defense will not be healed in one off season, so it makes sense to make a move for a guy like Thomas who could propel the offense up another level which would in turn make things a little easier on what will be a below-average if not outright bad defense. If you can give Trestman more weapons on the cheap you do it. Aside from Forte we don't have any really dynamic players, I mean the receivers are great don't get me wrong, but they arent dynamic. Thomas can be, you add a guy with his speed and skill set and use him right we've got another guy with enormous big play potential. They scored the 2nd most points in the league, how much better do they need to get? Wilson alone could make them that much more dangerous if he starts working with Marshall and Jeffery. Forte and Thomas would virtually have the same role. Dynamic catching the ball out of the backfield, and good running outside the tackles. I see no need to burn a 3rd round pick on a guy who is as similar to Forte as Thomas is. If you wanna cut Bush for cap purposes and draft a RB, I'd rather get a guy like Tyler Gaffney a little later in the draft. Someone who is gonna be a change of pace, short yardage back.
  25. QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 30, 2013 -> 08:47 PM) I tend to agree. Also, I think we need to realize how much of a ripple effect there is in the nfl. It's sort of like a bullpen...you take one guy out and everyone's role changes, not just one guy's. I think we were awful, but I'm not writing off some of these kids yet because they weren't put in a position to succeed; they were pretty much thrown to the wolves and I'd like to see a bit more. We've got so many holes, you're not going to be able to address them all anyways. Yes indeedy. The injuries at DT effected DE because Wootton was forced inside, which also forced SMC to be more of an every down DE, and all that culminated into getting no pressure on the QB which then made the secondaries job harder. SMC is also horrific against the run, and Wootton isn't a DT, thus making it much easier to run on the team. It all really rippled down from the DT position.
