White Sox vs. Tigers 9/22/13
2nd_city_saint787 replied to BigEdWalsh's topic in 2013 Season in Review
If I'm the Sox I'm dangling both Q and Santiago out there. If the offer for Q is overwhelming in comparison to Santiagos then I'm trading Q. I've seen enough of EJ to say that I want him in the rotation next year. Sox can do worse than throwing Rienzo out there every 5 days....Hopefully he either pitches well or Beck or Bassit push their way through AA/AAA and give the Sox a better option. -

QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Sep 22, 2013 -> 02:25 PM) Call me a meathead but Sunday day games without a Bears football game bores me to death. Disagreed. Always nice to see divisional opponents struggle, a loss for both would be fantastic. (I of course am talking about the fact that both the Vikes and Pack are on TV here) How bout them Browns! -

Not that anyone cares, I'm facing my brother in my money leagues semifinals...He's got Sanchez, Martinez, Fielder, and Infante, so I need a shocker today from our White Sox....A shut out with the Sox lighting up Sanchez would be soooo nice. -
QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Sep 21, 2013 -> 09:08 PM) You can . It's done all the time. Ya, I'm not paying that much attention, I thought they took out Jones already(there was a call to the mound), then DET made the switch from Tui to Dirks.
-
QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Sep 21, 2013 -> 09:04 PM) Once Dirks was announced as the PH for Tui then you change pitchers. Pretty simple. I may be wrong but I don't think you can do that. EDIT I'm not really paying attention....I think im mixing some s*** up....disregard

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Sep 21, 2013 -> 08:55 PM) Ventura is an idiot . 4 straight hits and Dirks PHing and you don't bring in Veal ?? Tuiassasopo(or whatever) was on deck when they made the move I believe.

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Sep 21, 2013 -> 08:52 PM) Jones lighter fluid lately. He hadn't given up a hit in his last 5 appearances. Just 2 runs on 4 hits in his last 10. lol he was due.

QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 21, 2013 -> 07:37 AM) Guess I'm going to Raw on Monday. Oh you fancy huh? -
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 20, 2013 -> 11:46 PM) Prince and Verlander get the benefit of the doubt until a legitimate pattern forms. The Sox are a terrible organization offensively from top to bottom. Detroit is the least of our concerns. Fixed. The Sox look to be in good shape pitching wise from top to bottom.
-
QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 20, 2013 -> 11:20 PM) I hate being negative ALL the time but I have to continue a bit longer ... how many years in a row did Atlanta make the playoffs? Detroit is going nowhere possibly for a long time. They are committed to spending lots of cash. Let's see if the Sox get that payroll back up there in an attempt to rebuild quickly thru free agency. I'm hoping but I also could see us pulling a Minnesota and going on the cheap. It's up to Jerry and how much he wants to see the Sox rally in his lifetime when his Bulls are looking pretty darn good. The Braves streak 91-04 was the result of having young magnificent pitching. The streak began with John Smoltz(24), Steve Avery(21), and Tom Glavine (25) as 3 of the 4 starters, then 2 years later they went out and got even more filthy with a prime, 27 year old Greg Maddox. In contrast all the Tigers pitchers are in their upper 20's and their "streak" has just begun. They're at 2 in a row right now, I would be shocked if they made it past 5. So it's hard to really compare those 2 teams.

If you've got nothing better to do and wanna watch some good wrestling ROH will be airing a live PPV on GFL.TV tonight at 7. I haven't followed them recently but there's still a lot of guys I used to watch locally who are worth watching. Guys like Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards who may be jumping to the WWE soon, Kevin Steen, Micheal Elgin, Jay Lethal, Homicide, Eddie Kingston, and Roderick Strong. -
Done and done....What's "ironic" is the guy I bought my video card from is a paid hacker who hasn't got back to me today....Makes me wonder if there's some sort of connection there.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Sep 20, 2013 -> 01:24 PM) How many pots did you smoke last night? None actually, I quit 2 months ago to try and get a better job. I changed the time and date and now facebook works but still wtf.....Can hackers turn on computers???
-
There's some weird stuff goin down over here....First off my computer turned itself on at 4am, which is straight up creepin me out, and now neither firefox nor chrome are letting me on facebook. Some sort of security block. The computer is steps away from where I was sleeping and I'm a light sleeper so I would have heard someone turn it on and change my security settings....Any idea what the hell happened? Oh, and now my computers calender says it 12/31/2006 10:29p.....Is this real life?

I have McCoy on all 3 of my teams =( ....And he's back =) -
They didn't touch on the fact that the Sox have boatloads of money. At this point they either spend the money or suck for years to come.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Sep 19, 2013 -> 02:17 PM) So do you have to consult someone or be consulted to get Boyd or Hundley? (I also think Manziel is going to be a good pro QB. I love him) Yes, you must first with consult with several experts about making the decision between the 2, whereas Bridgewater is a no doubter. =p Really gotta do some consulting when it comes to Manziel though, that's a given. -
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 19, 2013 -> 01:16 PM) I don't know who said that, but generally the vast majority of players play better in wins. It's sort of why the team wins. The Dunn only playing well when the teams losing, because "he's a loser", has been brought up on several occasions by the Dunn bashers. I believe Rios was dumped into the "loser" category as well though I can't say that for sure.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 19, 2013 -> 12:33 PM) I actually dont like either of those RB's. Why isnt Sankey a franchise back? He's not small and he produces. But I also agree that '15 is deep, and that would be the class to grab a RB if you could, i'm assuming both Gordon and Gurley come out and I love both of those guys. For some reason I think Cle is set on getting yet another QB in '14. I don't think that's even a question. Bridgewater if they're lucky, Boyd or Hundley are the "consultation" prizes. Thing I don't get is they were gonna be in the running for those 3 anyway, and they'd have TRich....Certainly a puzzling move to me. -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 19, 2013 -> 10:42 AM) Interesting read for two factoids... #1 the Sox are last in MLB in OPS in losses. #2, they actually have two players who are putting up better numbers when they lose, versus when they win. http://www.southsidesox.com/2013/9/19/4747...liant-in-defeat But, but, Adam Dunn only hits well when the Sox are losing right? Kinda on that same line of thinking another interesting note was brought up in the comments....

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Sep 19, 2013 -> 08:18 AM) With Richardson being a "Do Not Play" this week...not sure who to start in his place. I picked up Bobby Rainey (who is starting this week in Cleveland), Ben Tate and Danny Woodhead. PPR league. I picked up Rainey too but then dropped him minutes later in favor of McGahee. Hopefully he passes his physical. I'd go Woodhead in a PPR. With Stephen Jackson out who should I play at flex? Right now I have Julius Thomas starting there but I also have Eddie Royal and Coby Fleener(Dwayne Allen is out). I feel like I should wait a week to consider McGahee there. Would you guys start Royal over Garcon/T. Smith/Shorts? -
QUOTE (whitesox901 @ Sep 19, 2013 -> 02:32 AM) I was trying to find their W-L record in 1 run games. Any idea what it is? I kept coming up short. EDIT: Nevermind, 22-33 Where'd you find that out? I'd be interested in seeing what other teams have done... Kinda crazy that 1/3rd of their games were decided by 1 run. If they win half of those games they're sitting at 76-76 Tells me that with the addition of a few new pieces they can turn it around real quick.
