QUOTE (justBLAZE @ May 20, 2012 -> 04:38 PM) FWIW my friend says he met ODawg and said he was an asshole. http://orlandohudson1.com/catch-foundation/ http://www2.scnow.com/news/2011/dec/06/hud...ard-ar-2814287/ http://www2.scnow.com/news/pee-dee/2011/oc...day-ar-2570691/ Those seemingly beg to differ. When doin some research I also found out that hes an outdoorsman so he should have no problem fitting in with guys like Peavy, Danks and others who are also quite the outdoorsman.

First and foremost, sorry. LOL I dont drink much anymore and me and a couple buddies polished off a case of beer and I was sippin on a tall glass of rum and coke when I was typin all this. I felt like goin all wrestling promo on your asses lol if you guys read it like I was saying it in my head I think you woulda been highly entertained. If read normal I probably came off as a dumbass. QUOTE (kev211 @ May 21, 2012 -> 03:55 AM) Are the sox like CM Punk? BEST IN THE WORLD With the Texas Rangers of the World sadly no, not quite. Drunk or not I will say this I stand by my points and believe this team will compete for at the very least one of the wild card spots with a serious chance at the division. QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ May 21, 2012 -> 09:44 AM) No, they play a real sport. They don't take part in a homoerotic choreographed routine. This homoerotic choreographed routine is making these guys millions of dollars so you can hate all you want lol...and no im not trying to argue that it is a sport, its entertainment....What are youre thoughts on MMA and Olympic Wrestling?? QUOTE (Reddy @ May 21, 2012 -> 09:59 AM) Orlando Hudson is apparently an impact, middle of the order bat. ah, he meant Dayan.... amazing how a good week makes him a cant miss..... Yes I meant Dayan. Its amazing how a slow start, from a slow starter makes him not good all of a sudden. This is a guy we all expected to match the output of one Carlos Quentin without the injury risk. Unless he goes back to the .200 hitter he was before this hot streak I will stand by this thinking and predict 30+ bombs with 80+ RBI.

QUOTE (greg775 @ May 21, 2012 -> 02:29 AM) Nice post, but this is what drives me crazy about the Sox. It does look like the Sox have a contender on paper. But the home record (I know, it's beaten into the ground) and the bullpen wackiness - Crain was one bomb from being a total goat today with the 3 walks - makes me skeptical. Also we won today with three home runs and good pitching, again, THE ONLY WINNING FORMULA for this team. So if you could guarantee me we'd be hittting a ton of home runs in games in the Cell, which we don't and if we could get consistently good bullpen work (which frankly we haven't for 2 plus seasons now) I might believe. Sorry if I'm a bad fan for not jumping on board. Its all in the post man. The soon to be 3-4-5 of Dunn-Paul-Dayan just might hit 100 HR between the 3.

QUOTE (Brian @ May 20, 2012 -> 10:05 PM) Crazy submission holds in Punk/Bryan. 2nd City wetting himself. I wet myself long before that, when Punk curb stomped Bryan and non of the announcers knew what he did, that was when it all started...Honestly, while it was a great, great match, I've seen them put on way better matches in the past so I was just a littleeee disappointing. With the way it ended I dont think the feuds over yet and I'd love to see them blow the roof off at Summerslam ....The 4 was was fantastic, would have liked to see Jericho get one last title run but I'm ok with the result.... I've never been Cristian fan and I'm a big Rhodes fan so hopefully what we get out of him losing the title is him getting pushed toward a world title now....I hope they do something with Ryback other than just all these squashes. Feed that man some real competition....Heel Show > Face Show x10, the lovable giant just rubs me the wrong way. A heel show vs cena feud (assuming they go that way) will be good cause it keeps them both away from the young talent thats actually well talented. As far as building up the tag division with the extra hour. I'd love and hate it. Love it because its something that should be done but hate it because it seems like theyre using Cesaro as a singles wrestler and him and Kashous Ohno (aka chris hero) combine for the best tag team of the last decade. For those of you that dont follow the indy circuit I'm speaking of the "Kings of Wrestling" youtube em. I'd love a cruiserweight belt, or use the US belt for that division...I think Reys coming back, Sin Cars and Evan Bourne are coming back, then youve got guys like Seth Rollins, Richie Steamboat, and Dean Ambrose who are gonna be making their way up to the show soon who can compete for it. -

QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ May 20, 2012 -> 09:27 PM) Does Hudson have the arm to play major league 3B or does he have a second-baseman's arm? I said this in another thread, but hes logged over 200 games in the minors at 3rd, cant imagine hed play that many without one. -
Ok so heres the deal, I'm SLIGHTLY intoxicated and I just finshed watching some dubbya dubbya E wrestling so I'm all hyped up. What none of know about me as you look past my posts of truths and sweep them under the rug like its nonsense is I am a former student of current WWE World Heavyweight Champ CM Punk (Along with Sexy Ace Steele and Colt Boom Boom Cabana) and as some of you guys may know they are some of the best in the world when it comes to shooting on an interview so Ive learned for the best. Ive had it up to here with you nay sayers and those of you that expect nothing of this team, this team that is our team, this team that we are here to root for not to constantly put down and give up on. I'm here to guide you all back to fandom and take down the nay sayers of the board one rebuttal at a time. Those of still out there that dont believe are blind, blind to the fact that this team previously stuck around .500 without a 2 hole hitter, THE Golden Boy on the south side of chicago Gordon "I'm no longer messing around" Beckham. You see this team also got nothing...NOTHING... out of a guy whos gonna show you that he most certainly IS worth that wait in The Tank Dayan "Chulo Baro" Viciedo. This ".500 team" just added an IMPACT middle of the lineup bat, and filled the black hole in the #2 spot of the lineup that they previously had in that .500 team. You see guys when a .500 team adds what very well could be a good #2 hitter and an impact middle of the order bat that team is no longer a .500 team. Dayan Viciedo is what Manny Ramirez was supposed to be, Gordon Beckham is gonna be what Gordon Beckham is supposed to be. If things go as planned the black hole that is Brent Morel will rid his ugly bat of this lineup and Orlando "The Spark Plug" Hudson will bring some sort of livelyhood, some sort of pulse to 9 hole. This man has 5 triples, which was good for the most in the NL, I'm not even sure Brent Morel has 5 hits this year. Jake Peavy is an ace again, Chris sale will be a good number 2, Gavin Floyd will be a good number 3, John Danks will be a good number 4, and our number 5 through a no hitter and was an all star just last year. When I look at that I see a damn good starting rotation. I see a rotation thats in the top 6 in quality starts, batting average against, WHIP. I see a rotation thats number 1 in complete games. I see a rotation that we should be proud of. The bullpen, well the bullpen if managed right, Robin, buddy I'm lookin at you brotha, this bullpen can be lights out! Robin, you have a deep enough bullpen to where you can use Will Ohman as strictly a LOOGY where he can be a key part of this pen. Everyone here is up in arms about how terrible Zach Stewart has been, first hes not, and second hes the first guy out of the pen, hes the mop up guy, hes the guy every team has that they can hide in the bullpen. Show me a team in baseball that doesnt have 1 guy in the pen that isnt a stud, you'll be hard pressed to do so. Matt Thornton and Jesse Crain have been consistently solid for the last 3 or 4 years, a rarity for a reliever who are mostly hit or miss from year to year. Hector Santiago outside his 2 blown saves has given up 2 runs in 13 innings. Nate Jones has been just about as rock solid has it gets. Those 2 are the future lefty righty set up men for one of the best young closers in the game Addison Reed. This is a new team, this is a team you can cheer for. THIS IS A COMPETING TEAM. THIS IS REAL. THIS IS WHITE SOX BASEBALL.

QUOTE (Jake @ May 20, 2012 -> 05:41 PM) Yup. Even a team that deserves to be 60-60 can go on a run and be 70-50 On my bandwagon I do not accept any of this...Why does this team "deserve" to be 60-60...come on Jake you've been one of my favorite posters this year.

HOW IT IS! 4-0 since i got rid of my awful sig...theres plenty of room on my "believe bandwagon" for everyone!

QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ May 20, 2012 -> 11:59 AM) Because 7 out of 11 doesn't happen every year. I do enjoy this, I just am not sold on the team being particularly competitive on a divisional or league level. Also, I would be enjoying this a lot more if our young hitters were producing. As others have stated Beckham and Dayan have certainly been producing. Fun fact, over the last 7 days Dayan has been the 2nd hottest batter in the league (based on yahoo fantasy rankings, Votto #1) Anyway, this team can certainly compete for at least one of the wild cards, and IMO there's no question about that. They were hovering around .500 with zero production out of Tank and Becks, now with them producing they add a 2 hole hitter and a middle of the lineup bat that they didnt have early on. If you add a 2 hole hitter and a middle of the lineup hitter to a .500 team, that team is gonna compete. They're also still getting nothing out of Lexi and based on his track record they will sooner or later so thats another good bat to sure up the lineup...And I like the addition of O-dog, he might not be a good hitter anymore but i think just his personality will spark this club. I think at the beginning the pitching staff was great, right now I think the hitting will be good. If the Sox can bring those 2 together theres no question they compete -

QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ May 20, 2012 -> 10:05 AM) Even if we did have a serious run to 28-22, recall that the 2002 team started with that record and yet still sputtered to 81 wins. The 2004 team started 29-21 and ended up with 83. Let's take a wait and see attitude until mid June before we go jumping on any bandwagons. Is this 02 or 04?? Stop it, theyre playing good baseball right now, enjoy it. -

QUOTE (kev211 @ May 17, 2012 -> 05:31 PM) July 23 is RAW's 1000 episode. To celebrate they made it 3 hours. They've also announced the every Raw forever now will be 3 hours starting July 23. I think this can be good as long as they don't spend an hour every week recapping s*** that's already happened. https://twitter.com/#!/JohnCena/status/...222060774850560 Fantastic, theyve got a ton of young talent coming up soon so a longer show will be needed to showcase all of them....at least I hope thats the reasoning. -
QUOTE (Jake @ May 19, 2012 -> 11:47 PM) I'm guessing anyone that was once regarded as one of the best defensive second basemen in the league can play an adequate third base. See Omar Vizquel -- not good, but good enough This. And he played 200+ games at third in the minors, I dont think he'd be there that many games if he doesn't.

QUOTE (greg775 @ May 19, 2012 -> 11:13 PM) Things are not that good. This is our first series win in a long long time. Also we still play lousy in the Cell. Theyre 7-4 in there last 11, they havent won a series in awhile because 3 of the last 4 series have had 2 or 4 games and theyve split all of those. -

QUOTE (greg775 @ May 19, 2012 -> 10:07 PM) I'll admit I don't remember his performance vs. the Tigers so I could be off base here. But he sure has been meat when I've seen him on TV. He got lit up today. I don't buy that he was just trying to throw it over the plate. To the Zach supporters ... are you comfortable with him pitching in meaningful situations? Or just situations like tonight? So you've watched him pitch today and on April 16th? Take out those 2 peprformances and hes given up 2 runs in 11 innings of relief....Man for someone so opinionated you sure must not watch a lot of white sox baseball. Hes the mop up guy, he's not meant to come in in meaningful situations so this question is irrelevant -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 19, 2012 -> 09:29 PM) All that matters is what a guy did in his last outing. Stewart's last outing now was bad so he's a bum. Reed got a save his last time out so he's Rivera. Reed's never had a blowup and Stewart never had a good outing last week. ahh thanks for clearing that up....75% of the stuff posted on here now makes sense to me -

Didnt ZAch have a low 2 era before this game??? Was Addison Reed a joke after his implosion? Not saying hes good but hes good enough to be the mop up up guy....regardless a wins a win!! -
also he was leading the NL in triples so he still has some wheels.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 19, 2012 -> 05:52 PM) Orlando Hudson To Sign With White Sox By Zach Links [May 19 at 4:32pm CST] Free agent Orlando Hudson claims that he is set to sign with the White Sox, according to Peter Gammons of MLB.com (via Twitter). The second baseman was released by the Padres on Thursday afternoon. The veteran was hitting just .211/.260/.317 in 35 games for San Diego this year and wasn't terribly helpful in grooming the club's young talent. Hudson will earn $5.5MM this year as well as the $2MM buyout he is owed for the 2013 season. There's a rebuilding team eating more than $6 million...albeit they were going to lose the $2 million regardless. So that's perfect, KW is signing a veteran player (see AJ as another example, although the threat/rivalry with Flowers has cooled) who may or may not be the most helpful in working with younger players (see Morel/Lillibridge/possibly Saladino) in a rebuilding effort. Win now, baby! Forget about all the rebuilding/development talk. This organization is so bi-polar. Seems like we're doomed to win between 75-83 games every season until we're all in the grave. In the end, it's not a bad move for THIS SEASON if Hudson can re-energize himself and spark some life into the team...if it's not there, easy to part ways with him. IMO the team was rebuilding till they found out the real Adam Dunn is playing this year, if he continued to suck then youd continue to see a rebuilding process....As I have kept saying, with the real Dunn, can compete and the people in the organization seem to agree with me.
-
Hudson played 242 games at 3B in the minors ...wasnt pretty though, .935 fielding %...but if it means getting the black hole brent morel out of the lineup ill take it...he'll also add some much needed energy to this team
-
Just yesterday I was gonna see what people thought about giving Aaron Miles a call, but then I remembered 75% of this board thinks the team sucks so I was just gonna get bashed for it....If the plan is to play him at 3B then I like it. Morels a black hole, I'll take Pablo Ozuna over him at 3rd.
