  3. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Jun 3, 2012 -> 01:18 PM) I feel a big game for Lexi today. I'm calling for a 3/4 day with a HR. looks like I'll be wrong, I still had that feeling after his first hit
  4. QUOTE (Cali @ Jun 3, 2012 -> 01:22 PM) If you'll allow me to fall into negative mode (aka normal mode): Have your 9 game streak snapped by an inferior team and scored 8 runs and STILL lost. Put out a Sunday line up that will possibly (probably) lose you 2 of 3 against an inferior team. Followed by an off day? They better destroy Toronto on Tuesday or I start fretting again haha. This Seattle team did just score 31 runs in 2 games against the best team in the AL...you think Texas fans are fretting??

  6. Youks batting .314 since coming off the DL, raising his BA from .219 to .253, raising his OBP .032 points to .324, and his OPS .103 points up from .635 to .738. His back was clearly holding him back, but then again perhaps the same could be said for Brent. If Brent doesnt come back and perform and Youks still available for Thornton and lower level prospects you do that deal. IMO adding youk moves the sox from a playoff contender to a WS contender.
  7. QUOTE (kev211 @ Jun 1, 2012 -> 11:25 PM) Random thought: I absolutely love watching MLB tonight when they're doing a live look in and the studio guys talk about the game. So funny and awesome. I love Harold Renoylds I dont think I could live without the MLB network...
  8. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 06:09 PM) We will agree to disagree...............Stewart is a dime a dozen pitcher. aka a long man.
  9. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 06:03 PM) Disagree he is NOT fine! QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 06:04 PM) I agree with you... http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/8657/gamelog if not for the game in Wrigley he'd have an era under 3...and Ill say it again, he's the long man...youre not gonna find a bullpen in baseball that has a great long man
  10. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 06:01 PM) Stewart fails again this guy is not a big league pitcher. He's the long man, he's fine.
  11. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 05:56 PM) With Zach in I'm real nervous now. Dude go look at his stats, I bring this up everytime...outside of 2 or 3 games .hes been great.
  12. He's also gonna be 37 and possibly not in the league in 2013.
  13. everyone laughed at me in my money league when I picked up GB a few weeks ago...look whos laughin now!!
  14. QUOTE (Baron @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 04:31 PM) Yeah and Nestor Molina who is lighting in up in AA with a 5 ERA Nope hes still a year or 2 away, which at what 23 is not a big deal. Quintana, Doyle, and Axelrod are the 3 guys I can see coming up this year should Gavy continue to falter.
  15. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 03:30 PM) I guess I'll never understand why the 3rd largest city in the US cannot support this team and fill up the stadium when we have one of the best teams in baseball. I'm sick of all of the excuses over the years that even I have used to justify the lack of attendance. Just look at 2005. We had weekend games in September where we could only draw 28K or 30K. A year where we were close to winning a 100 games. I guess I've come to realize that our fan base is pretty small. Its a city divided and for whatever reason it's divided more toward the team on the North Side of Chicago.
  16. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jun 1, 2012 -> 08:15 PM) Noah is the only one of those 4 that should be guarding centers on a regular basis. Boozer is bad overall but they've hid him reasonably well thanks to their other bigs, Gibson is good against 4's but doesn't have center size, and Gasol is okay at the 4 because of his length and mobility but lacks strength down low. He's also at the point of his career where he's going to start to decline. Eh, if the Bulls are gonna be in such bad shape financially in the future like you've said I think its something to consider. Past Bynum and Howard there aren't really any true center scorers that Taj can't guard anyway....I read that Portland would be open to trading the #6 pick for a PG but they also could use a C so I think they'd go for a Jo for picks trade. Adding a guy like Harrison Barnes, Dion Waiters, Austin Rivers, or Bradley Beal would really help going forward....By the time they get expensive Paus contract will be up.
  17. QUOTE (Bighurt52235 @ Jun 1, 2012 -> 11:42 PM) I saw it and thought of it. Though my heart didn't skip a beat like I'm sure yours did. It did earn a fist pump from me.
  18. Anyone else see that new Sox promo that said "this team is for real" and think of this thread??? Or am i the only one since i made the thread?
  19. Is Noah/Boozer that much better than a Pau/Gibson combo? I know they play different positions but IMO Gibson>Noah and Pau>Boozer.
  20. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jun 1, 2012 -> 06:39 PM) Noah is worth more than a late-lottery shooting guard and would be a lot harder to replace. Im still talking about getting Pau in this situation... IMO Taj can make up for the energy lost in Jo and Pau will make up for the offense lost in Boozer. Makes since to me but its so out of right field that itll never happen.... What about multiple plcks and a sign and trade with Thabeet, with Asik going in the Pau trade?
  21. What are the chances Portland would do the trade I mentioned? It'll help for the future and I like the SGs that'll be there around 11. Something tells me Thibs might like Docs kid.
  22. Ok well ya got me beat on the whole situation of adding a star next year. I'll throw another pipe dream at ya...Trade Jo to Portland for the 6 pick and take Harrison Barnes, trade CJ and the number 29 pick(and future picks) to GS for the #7 pick and take Lamb or Rivers. I like Rivers because of Thibs relationship with Doc. 2013= Rose-Rivers-Barnes-Taj-Pau If Rivers and Barnes live up to potential that team is SET for the future..
  23. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jun 1, 2012 -> 02:42 PM) Not really possible... Pau- $19.286 Rose- $17-19 mil Gibson- $3.182 qualifying offer, worse if the Bulls have to match an offer Butler- $1.174 mil Mirotic- call it a mil, probably slightly more if he can even come over at that point Golden State pick (Jones)- This year's #7 pick made $2.8 mil Portland's 11th pick (better options than Jenkins at that spot)- This year's #11 made $2.126 mil Bulls' 29th pick- call it a mil First rounder next year- At least a mil, could be a fair amount higher depending on tanking At least two second round picks- maybe half a mil $49-$53 mil depending on Rose's actual salary and where the 2013 pick lands. Also doesn't include any matching offers on Gibson, and you can't sign anyone for 12/13 that is on a 2-year deal. So you've got maybe $10 mil at best depending on the actual cap math and more likely several million less. It's a major stretch since you absolutely have to have as much room as possible to be able to sign that SG. Just read that Mirotic signed a contract extension and might not even come over till 2015....Does his contract start when he comes over or whats the deal there? They wont lose him if he stays over there too long right? The Golden State pick I was talking about is #30 or #35...Dont think CJ gets you the #7. The 11th pick is where I had them taking Jones, though of the 4 mocks I've looked at only have him at 11 in one of em...In which case a SG like Jeremy Lamb or Austin Rivers can be the pick and go PG/Big with 29 and 30/35, lets say Wroten and Festus Ezeli Then you can turn your attention towards a Josh Smith at SF.
  24. How about you just loan it to a fellow soxtalker and let him make payments on it when he starts work in a week or 2
