  1. QUOTE (chw42 @ May 29, 2012 -> 12:29 PM) His logic is off for calling this team garbage... Just tell him to look at his team. That is the definition of garbage. Hes already admitted to this, he says both teams are garbage...he thinks the sox will still finish 4th in the division. My logic behind why this team will compete seems pretty legit to me.
  2. i posted this in response to my buddy whos a cubs fan calling this team garbage...."a year removed from being "all in" which was their attempt at winning a title. They got rid of Buehrle and replaced him with Chris Sale which is an upgrade (minus the innings). Replaced Carlos Quentin with Dayan Viceido which is at the very least a push. Replaced Juan Pierre with De Aza which so far has been a clear upgrade. Replaced Sergio Santos with Addison Reed which is an upgrade so far, and most importantly the replaced last years Dunn, Peavy, and Rios with the real Dunn, Peavy, and Rios....Thats my explanations as to why i think the sox will compete and at the very least not be "garbage" Is my logic really that off?? I mean its hard to believe you sox fans on here dont see this.
  3. QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ May 29, 2012 -> 12:00 PM) ah the fall is gonna be so terrible this year....enjoy it while it lasts. ye have little faith, want a cookie?
  4. Talking about relievers now, I really think Jones and Santiago can be the L-R set up combo for years to come as well. Thats your 7-8-9th inning guys all coming out of the minors who are cost controlled impact talents....Very refreshing to see.
  5. QUOTE (flavum @ May 28, 2012 -> 02:58 PM) That Cardinals/Dodgers week looks scary: Garcia/Peavy Wainwright/Floyd Lynn/Sale Kershaw/Humber Billingsley/Danks That is if Danks is back on June 5. Hopefully the Sox go 9-3 before then, so that week isn't as important to go .500. With the surplus of pitches Sale had today anyway they can push his start back a day so we can get Kershaw/Sale??? I'm just being greedy lol
  6. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 28, 2012 -> 04:51 PM) You'd have to think that with 95 pitches, at best he'll get the 7th inning to tie the White Sox all-time record of 16. Can't imagine he would get pushed up into the high 110's or low 120's. Guess it depends on how Chris is feeling, but you just can't afford to chance it. 23 pitches last inning, and a few foul balls. Only four "regular" outs. At best he'll strike out the side for 17.
  7. QUOTE (kapzk @ May 28, 2012 -> 02:36 PM) Moore is someone we need to get at early as he is pretty good once he gets further into the game I think its just the opposite, he struggles the later the game goes...but at any time now he can break out and be the future ace everyone thinks he'll be...Sale looks filthy so far
  8. I never understood why baseball players needed a day off anyway, theres not a lot of energy being drained out there....there are players out there that play everyday....Once a month or so should be enough, under ozzie the bench got way to much play and I think some have gotten used to it around here which is why youre all worried about off days
  9. My first job out of high school was security at Mittal steel....Sure do wish I wasnt so young at the time and was mature enough to stick with it even though it was so boring...6 years later I'm still looking to get back into the security field.
  10. QUOTE (flavum @ May 27, 2012 -> 05:38 PM) I'd like to know if that's his first 4 hit game at home in his career. Career high 4 hits....awesome win and sweep...i think this team read my THIS IS REAL thread and realized that theyre pretty damn good, one loss since that post...just sayin lol
  11. Now Gav looks flat filthy, keep it up...whats his pitch count at?
  12. Johnny f***in Damon?? Dont let this get out of control Gavin.
  13. Win this one for the Big Hurt, just heard on Baseball Tonight that its his birthday today! Happy Birthday Frank!
  14. 2nd best Run Differential in the AL now. 6th in MLB at +24, right behind Atl @ +25 and Wash @ +26. Like I've been saying this team is awesome.
  15. Best play Ive seen all year...I loveee Offense
  16. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 26, 2012 -> 03:20 PM) So if Molina doesn't have a bigger impact than say, Quintana, would you blame that on KW or Paddy? Just curious. Because the fact that he made that mistake in annoucing the trade would lead one to believe he wasn't the key driver on that deal. Yeah, it's speculation, but what else do we have to go on? I'm not trying to be grandiose, but that was our best opportunity of the offseason to get an impact player, and now that window is gone unless we can get something back for Thornton, Crain or Floyd. It's probably NOT going to be THE reason we don't make the playoffs...and maybe there is no way you go out and get a 3B (because of Morel's last 6 weeks) or OF (because you have 3 of them already, plus Lillibridge's 2011)...and the only logical thing at the time was to add to the starting pitching depth. Whoever scouted Quintana in the FSL deserves a ton of credit, though. It's not a league that any of our minor league teams play in, so it doesn't get quite as much coverage or attention. Does it really matter?? Prospects are never a sure thing until they prove it in the bigs. Look at his numbers before this year, absolutely phenomenal. Things just haven't worked out this year for whatever reason. He's still only 23 years old, if he doesnt make the bigs and Santos comes back from his injury and is a solid closer for years to come then yes it would end up being a bad trade....Enough to can KW, hell no, once again look at the kids stats.
  17. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 26, 2012 -> 02:52 PM) Plus letting a guy like Mark go to another team. Public relations/ticket sales nightmare. At these prices who besides business owners can afford tickets n parking? The average southsider with wife n two kids cannot even consider attending more than a few games a season. The cost of a game for all four has to be staggering. Stop it, players leave get over it...St. Louis is 3rd in the MLB in attendance and they got ride of Pujols...What was the attendance like after Frank Thomas left??....Its rare that players stick with one team for their whole career now a days. QUOTE (Jake @ May 26, 2012 -> 02:57 PM) De Aza CF Beckham 2B Dunn DH Konerko 1B Rios RF Pierzynski C Viciedo LF Ramirez SS Hudson 3B. Peavy vs RF Choo CF Brantley 2b Jason Kipnis DH Lopez 1B Kotchman LF Damon 3B Hannahan SS Diaz C Marson That Indians lineup is turrable!
  18. Any new news on this guy, just saw that mlb.com has him as our #6 top prospect and Ive never heard of him. Coming here I like what I read about him.
  19. We just had ourselves a Queen moment in this thread...Thread just got even more legit
  20. QUOTE (He_Gawn @ May 26, 2012 -> 07:53 AM) Great win. We are playing some impressive ball right now. Is Quintana very highly thought of? Havn't been following our farm teams of late... thanks in advance QUOTE (iamshack @ May 26, 2012 -> 09:06 AM) Nope. But he's now shut down the Indians pretty well on two occasions. He's highly thought of in KWs eyes, and in his first 2 appearances I see why.
  21. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ May 25, 2012 -> 11:44 PM) is this real life? You better believe it, and its boomin brotha!
  22. Who's ready to believe in my preachings? The Sox are going to become monsters to fight the monsters of the MLB! This is True. THIS IS REAL! THIS IS WHITE SOX BASEBALL!
