  1. Noahs 13.1, Omers 15, Roses 19 (or more) = 47 mill for 2 starters and a BACKUP, and 2 of those guys aren't scorers. That leaves them with 11 mill cap space to fill 3 starting positions and 4 bench player...
  2. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 11:27 PM) However, $5 mill for Asik is perfectly reasonable. We'd get his best years at $5 mill then hopefully trade him before year 3. Easy, peasy, Japanesy. Even if we don't trade him before then, its only 1 year. We can work around it. It's not such a bad contract. Having a backup center make 15 mill, even for a year, will really limit what they can add to the team...I really wanna see Lu traded and Boozer amnestied next year and make a run at one of the FA SGs (Harden, Martin, or Ellis). Having a 15 million dollar contract on the team will make this impossible.. In 3 years Noahs making 13.1 mill, according to reports Asik will be making more than him and thats just not right AT ALL. A sign and trade is ideal but if the Bulls cant make that happen, have fun in Houston Omer...Hope you get your cardio up kid, you looked like you were gonna pass out when Thibs gave you more mins.
  3. Henry Sims PlZ...A 7 footer who can actually contribute on offense, yes please....Shocked he wasn't drafted in the first place. 15 mill for Asik is just asinine.
  4. As I said over on the other board, I'd really like to see Henry Sims brought in to replace Asik. He's a great passer for a 7 footer, offensively he'll be better than Asik, he doesn't have hands of stone, and while his D won't be as good as Omers, working with Thibs he'll be above average. Plus he'll come cheaper than any of the FA bigs worth a damn.
  5. QUOTE (Carter224 @ Jun 30, 2012 -> 02:10 PM) Doubt it. They will turn it around. We aren't that good, Dunn and Peavy have already started slipping back a little bit. We have a shaky rotation right now, I just dont have the feeling that this is going to last. Detroit, for as bad as they have started, are only 5 games back. Teams with as much talent as they have on that roster usually get it right at some point. The hole they are in just isnt deep enough. Last years Sox team says hi. I think the slogan should be "The kids can pitch"
  6. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 29, 2012 -> 07:51 AM) Was the shooter not 18? If he was younger, that could have had an effect? I know he was a year younger than me and I was turning 19 a month after it happened so he could have not yet turned 18 I'm not exactly sure and I dont associate with him anymore. I do know he's in the military now and when I tried joining they wouldn't let me due to my felony so he apparently does not have one. Either he was 17 or he hired a lawyer, I think had I had a decent lawyer and not a public defender I coulda got away with at the most a misdemeanor....I knew he had the BB gun as we were on our wasy to Westville to shoot stuff in my cousins huge backyard, but I didnt know he was gonna be a douche and shoot a kid playing basketball. It's not like I slowed down or he was sitting in the front seat where I can see him doing it....Just a s***ty s***ty situation for me thats the definition of guilty by association.
  7. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 29, 2012 -> 11:03 AM) Noah is really going to have to pick up his offensive game. They really need to consistently get 30+ from the combination of Boozer/Noah when Rose is gone. The Bulls just really need to work on offense, creating plays and getting guys good looks going to the basket. Without Rose they just wont have anyone to bail them out if they get stagnant. Hopefully working with Kareem will allow him to do just that, I see an All Star year out of Noah this coming up year.
  8. QUOTE (G&T @ Jun 28, 2012 -> 09:35 PM) Aiding and abetting type crimes are punishable in the same manner as the underlying offense. Ya I know, its just kind of a bummer that the guy who actually shoot a kid with a BB gun got no felony while I, the driver of the car did. I was 18 at the time.
  9. How does 1 get an assisting a criminal charge if the guy he "assisted" didnt even get a felony...Is assisting a criminal even a felony??
  10. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 26, 2012 -> 12:50 PM) Should be fully kidding. Tyreke isnt the next MVP or better than Rose He wont, but I think he takes a step next year and will be a fringe all star. Who else could you acquire that has the potential to be the "next mvp"
  11. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 26, 2012 -> 10:52 AM) I hate that the Bulls' improvement idea is Brandon Roy. Its certainly worth a shot in a write off year, if he comes back effective then its an upgrade...kinda like the sox getting Youk. A lot of people want the MLE used on a PG but they can just hold onto CJ and Lucus or use 29 on a PG. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 26, 2012 -> 12:34 PM) Well, you somehow trade for the Next MVP that is better than Rose and there you have it. You mean Tyreke Evans right?? semi kidding.
  12. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jun 26, 2012 -> 01:47 AM) Other rumors/tidbits: Jason Kidd would be interested in playing for the Bulls and is ok with a backup role, the Bulls are one of the top suitors for Brandon Roy, and Nikola Mirotic likely will stay overseas until 2014. What kind of money is Roy gonna get?? If the funds are there, which right now theyre not, Id take a flyer on Roy in a "throwaway year"....Would he take the MLE??
  13. Well having Cena in Money in the Bank is one way to set up Punk/Cena at Summerslam.
  14. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 25, 2012 -> 11:47 PM) The problem is that Butler is not really a great shooter, so in College he scored a lot more getting to the hoop and relying on athleticism. In college he averaged about 6-7 fts per game, he just is unlikely to get that amount in the pros. He can probably be a Ronnie Brewer if he can get better as a defender, but itd be a huge improvement if Butler even comes close to averaging 10 pts per game next year. I see no problem in him going to the hoop a lot on that 2nd unit. He won't score enough to be a starter but I think he'll develop into a pretty good role player. In the limited time we saw him I think he may already be on par with Brewer defensively, I remember Thibs putting him in against guys like Lebron and Melo and giving them fits.
  15. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 25, 2012 -> 09:39 PM) Roto has the Bulls taking Draymond Green. http://www.rotoworld.com/slide/nba/238/2012-NBA-Draft That would be extremely puzzeling. There's something about Green that reminds me of smaller Taj Gibson. A defensive 2nd unit of Pg-Butler-Green-Taj-Omer would be pretty impressive but may struggle to score, bringing back CJ would add to that on the offensive end of things. In the little bit we saw of Butler I think he could be a good scorer, looks like he's not afraid to shoot the basketball.
  16. So reading through the thread I see a few people that seem sure he's still not healthy...what makes you think that? He's already been to the DL and has came off, is it because back problems are always a lingering problem?? What are the chances its not fluff when he says he feels great?? He is 5 for 11 over the last week so maybe its true.
  17. What a great trade by KW, Youk for a pitcher that just got demoted and a utility guy who was hitting well under the mendoza mark. Surprised there has been no mention that he is 6 for his last 14, including a triple in todays game...perhaps he really does feel the best hes felt in awhile! With Hudson, Escobar(who can play the OF), and Danks, lilibieber isnt really needed...Danks is probably a better OFer than him, Hudsons one of the best at 2B, and Escobar will play better D at short and 3rd. He's probably faster than all those guys but not by much.
  18. QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Jun 20, 2012 -> 04:19 PM) Other than bodyweight exercises (pushups, pullups, etc), what is the cheapest way to start doing some strength training? Can I buy a barbell+weights and do things like squats and lifts without having something like a power rack (assuming I am extremely conservative about how much weight I use)? You can get a resistance band for pretty cheap and can do all the same things you would be doing with dumbbells. Unless youre looking for size in which case a barbell and weights is the way to go...Also if you dont mind pissin off the neighbors you can get a tractor tire for free. I went to the local firestone where they had a ton out back, all different sizes and weights and they let me test them out till I found one thats right for me. They have to pay to recycle those so they will gladly let them go for free. If you wanna grab some resistance cords and help out a fellow soxtalker hit up Reddy and im sure he'd gladly sell you some via beachbody.
  19. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jun 21, 2012 -> 01:57 PM) Multiple weeks of non-stop Heat coverage plus the return of Darren Rovell to ESPN, time to find a new network for a month MLB network... Ya the Deng+ for Bynum was a little far fetched on my part..and the part of the international business times website I fisrt saw the rumor. They had a potential Bynum for Jrue Holiday and Iggy trade, I was thinking if that works then Deng, CJ, and the Bobcats pick might work....this all coming after my morning jog/fog...If you see me post before 10am, disregard it, I'm out of it lol As far as todays game, I got OKC by 10+. I see the Thunder playing the kind of D they played in the 2nd half of Game 1...and if they do win tonight I think it goes to a game 7 and that games a toss up.
  20. There are rumors Bynum is available for the right deal... What about Deng+ for Bynum and that Noah for Evans and #5 rumor.. As I stated before I like the fact Evans worked with a "shot doc" then improved his shooting significantly after. He's also versatile, he played PG and SF last year and can obviously play SG, with that if Barnes is off the board when we're up at 5 we can grab a Bradley Beal and play Evans at the 3. I'm fine with keeping things the same, but I enjoy speculating as well.
  21. Here's a thought...would we be better off with Flowers starting behind the plate or Hudson at 3rd? I think AJ could be a good trade piece. The Pirates have Alvarez and Casey Mcgee (who's been real good lately) over at 3rd, and the .222 hitting Rod Berajas behind the plate.
  22. QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 03:31 PM) You're not trying to make weight for a prizefight. edit: soxfan1 beat me to it I do plan on joining a boxing club 2 blocks away so perhaps ill revisit this again in the future lol
  23. QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 03:25 PM) It's all good, we all start somewhere. Some day you'll be looking down on your abs and laughing about this day Ive been walking/jogging in the mornings, woke up at 1130 and didnt feel it this morn so I did this as a "replacement"...Twas silly...no harm done though...the sweat felt good though
  24. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 03:19 PM) Seriously, it could kill you. Get fit or die tryin I drank more than enough water. Made a little sense to me at first, but ya, not trying to make weight over here for a fight or anything so in the end it was dumb and over with lol
  25. QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 03:11 PM) Read that back to yourself. Does it sound legit? trash bags the same concept as a sauna suit...and the hemroid thing I learned when i went to a recruiters office and didnt make weight.. Also drank half a gallon of water...at the very least it flushed some toxins out??
