  1. QUOTE(3E8 @ Mar 1, 2005 -> 10:14 PM) No they don't. any particular reason? I know an add isn't legally described as an invitation to negotiate...but it seems like if you've got an item marked for a price, regardless of error, that's the price you're stuck at, otherwise I'd mark stuff down all the time just to get people into my store, ya know?

  3. I found an online add for a 2003 Honda Element for $1,999.00 I know what you're thinking, what's wrong with it? well, it's from a dealer, so I'm assuming nothing because it's listed along with a few others at higher prices. I'm thinking that they've mistyped this and made a mistake. my question: if nothing in fact is wrong with this vehicle, do they have to sell that vehichle at that price?? discuss
  4. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Mar 1, 2005 -> 09:56 PM) Its my humble opinion that books should never EVER be made into movies. Ive seen far too many good books destroyed or otherwise messed up by the silver screen. The Sum of All Fears is the first one to come to mind. was it that the movie sucked or..............

  6. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 1, 2005 -> 05:58 PM) Mission Earth by L Ron Hubbard was an incredible Sci-Fi series, but after seeing the butcher job that Travolta and company did to Battlefield Earth, I sure have 2nd thoughts about it. definitely nix anything with John Travolta...
  7. seriously...you're missing some good ones here. why did one rapper try to shoot the other rapper? because his hoe thought the game was 50 cents.... how do you know you're doing the right thing by buying a playstation 2? have you been to an arcade lately? there's no way the game is worth 50 cents... the jokes are limitless when your name is "the game" and "50 cent"...

  10. QUOTE(farmteam @ Mar 1, 2005 -> 04:46 PM) ANY Ken Follett novel, but especially Eye of the Needle (that was already a movie, but it was 1981, so it can be remade), Hornet Flight, and A Dangerous Fortune, because those are the ones I've read. But honestly, all his books are awesome. synopsis without spoilers?

  12. two quality individuals get their wish. I feel sadness for both of them.
  13. Edgar Rice Burroughs, the man who brought you "Tarzan." Wrote "Princess of Mars" Did anyone else read this?? I think it'd be a great movie considering the computer technology around these days. Without giving away too much information, It's about a man who "dies" in an Arizona cave after being chased by Indians circa 1860s. He awakens on the red planet of Mars and discovers a whole new world and abilities. fantastic book, I think it'd be a wonderful movie.
  14. 610 and 979 PA and TEJAS... HOLLA
  15. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Feb 28, 2005 -> 11:10 PM) Did you bring me back some scrapple? P.S. What the f*** is scrapple?? most everything you see here: definitely pigs feet self-explanatory = bon apetit! I would never eat that crap... believe it or not, there's a dish actually made from leftover scrapple...I think it's called like house sausage or something like that. I'll check on that. btw.... :puke :puke :puke
  16. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Feb 28, 2005 -> 10:05 PM) PA, I wish I could explain it to you, but I just don't think you can understand something so complicated until you're 26, at least. It's grown-up stuff -- you understand, right? my bad.... I'm the kid for looking critically and analytically into the message, story and characters of a movie? ok. bored? yes wrong? no
  17. QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 28, 2005 -> 09:27 PM) Rocker couldn't catch a limo Just kidding buddy. I hope she's worth the trip into Philly and that airport. PIA always has backups everywhere. I actually had to pick up the people from whom I rent my apartment. royally sucked, but instead of paying bills, I do odd jobs now and again. Their lexus SUV was broken down, so I had to use their wrangler, cos there ain't no way I'm driving their lexus sedan.... hell, I wanted them to get a limo
  18. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Feb 28, 2005 -> 03:34 PM) It's not a defense, it's a basic premise in movie making. It's fiction, fantasy, make believe. They have a category for REAL films, they're called documentaries. Many 'flaws' are there, EVERY movie has them. Ask a Dr. how many inaccuracies there are in films with medical situations, tons. Ask a cop or judge about crime movies. How about 'action movies'?.....their entire premise is ridiculous. Cowboy cops blowing things up left and right. How many times a year does the President get kidnapped in movies? How about sports movies?......Rocky took a beating in that film that would never have been allowed in the sport, it won an Oscar. Your problem with characters not behaving the way you think they would have is just that....the way YOU think they would have. Films in which they don't behave that way are far more interesting than when you can see their reaction coming from a mile away. They're called plot twists. You had a problem with the film's message. That doesn't make it a bad film. wow, you are so right... thank you for helping me understand I didn't have a problem with the message of the film. I had a problem with the hopelessness that Maggie's character was placed. She had the backing of the WBA plus god knows how much $ from a law suit that in real life would have happened...but all she got was a mediocre hospital that failed to check for bed sores leading to an amputation and poor security which led to her death. I didn't have a problem believing that she could actually get to the title fight, which was nearly impossible...I had a problem with the lack of realism in order to force the characters into a horrible decision, which if were made by actual living and breathing people wouldn't have had the same outcome. I REALLY enjoyed acts 1 and 2 of this movie. I did not like the contrived and manipulative ending. but what the hell do I know?? I voted for bush...and hate homos :headshake
