QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Nov 24, 2006 -> 05:58 PM) Well, I'm sure you're well aware that it was a PRADA bag. Which is just one letter away from PRAVDA, the news organ of the Soviet Union. I think we all know what that means.... And sewn within the bag there may have been evidence linking the Bilderbergs to an Illuminati that the world has never seen..... the first rule of illuminati is talking about illuminati.... it's the anti-fight club.

QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Nov 24, 2006 -> 01:07 PM) Flashin the yellowcard here. If this gets personal, we can all move along and talk about something else. Thanks. I heard Southsider2k5 eats cheese and peanut butter sandwhiches in his underwear on sundays....

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Nov 24, 2006 -> 11:47 AM) Yeah, but there are lessons to be learned: namely, that civil wars can't be stopped by the bombs of other countries. Especially not Civil Holy War which is exactly what this is. If england would have followed through in helping the south...I have a feeling the Civil War could have turned out a little differently, so I don't agree with your assessment.

QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Nov 24, 2006 -> 11:43 AM) Had JFK not died, he probably would have been defeated by a GOP candidate other than Goldwater in 64. I'm not sure what you're point is with that comment? That JFK alive has no effect on history because he loses in '64? Your comment was just vague, sorry not being a jerk. Sub question... I wonder if Ted Kennedy has ever had information shown to him regarding his brother's assassination and kept it quiet because it would rock the democratic party as well as the nation?

QUOTE(Texsox @ Nov 23, 2006 -> 09:20 AM) Sad day, yet a great testimony to our system of self government. We had an orderly transition. I wonder when historians will finally consider it a coup?

QUOTE(Texsox @ Nov 23, 2006 -> 07:50 AM) I friend of mine has a Boston Terrier named Paco. I doubt it's named for the middle infielder, this Paco can catch anything. Every once in a while I will go to a random page in this thread, funny stuff. To borrow a page from PA, whomever thought of this thread is a genius and should be elected President. Second fiddle Tex...

QUOTE(Leonard Zelig @ Nov 23, 2006 -> 12:23 AM) How so? I have no idea. I just said that because no one from admin has said anything yet. That's what we get when we depend upon a fascist regime...we need a democratic state of elected officials. Vote for PA for President of Soxtalk

c'mon...it's just too easy.

Suggestions for Debate Questions/Topics
sox4lifeinPA replied to NorthSideSox72's topic in The Filibuster
I would like to discuss the merits of Yuengling Lager. -
did anyone follow these people home to figure out if perhaps their "problems" affected much more than their voting?

QUOTE(3 BeWareTheNewSox 5 @ Nov 22, 2006 -> 01:14 AM) I love fatwallet.com, just got a DVD burner under $15 for Staples Just installed it, it's both DVD+ and - R, is there a better one? Will DVD players play either one? DVD+ is supposed to be better because it came out after -. They'll play on most DVD players. I have used both for burning....uh...completely legal movies.... and never had a problem.

QUOTE(Iwritecode @ Nov 22, 2006 -> 11:56 AM) Definitely. Next week's episode looks like it will be even better. So is the nuclear explosion (or the prevention of it) going to happen at the end of the season or will they use that as a cliff-hanger to season 2? it's hard to say. Even though they're messing with the future, i.e. seeing the paintings and trying to change what happens in them, the pictures still come true. It'll be interesting to see how Peter gets out of police custody. I think the cop who can hear things will be making his way towards texas. Hiro's story should be good too. All in all, I think there aren't a lot of likeable characters on this show, but I'll still watch it just to see what happens.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Nov 22, 2006 -> 07:50 AM) I don't think you can have it both ways. You can't one one hand say the kid didn't deserve it *and* say you don't blame the police. The kid was tased; if he deserved it, he was wrong. If he didn't deserve it, the cop was wrong. We are talking shades of right and wrong here because of school rules regarding the taser. I believe, at the minimum, it was excessive and would take action along those lines. The cop has to have the sense to know what is appropriate use of force, and this was a not one, but a couple steps past appropriate. No one was in danger except the person the cop put in danger. sure i can. I don't think the kid should have been tased because it shouldn't be an option. They could have had that kids face to the floor and drug out in handcuffs. However, because it was an option and the kid was non complying to the officer's request, they hit him with the taser. So I can in fact have my cake and eat it too. the student was inciting other students to join his resistance...that's enough for me. That's what I would hit this kid with from a legal standpoint. Inciting a riot, resisting arrest, failure to comply with police requests, etc. the kid is a douche, end of story.

it's all based on perception and how you weigh evidence as an individual. I perceive a situation where 4 other cops PLUS a supervisor are present as something that if Duren acted improperly there was sufficient backup to step in and do so. Tex, you can be as cynical as you want. I'm not saying this kid deserved it, but I would say I don't blame them for taking this route.

best episode of the season, imo.

QUOTE(bmags @ Nov 21, 2006 -> 02:54 PM) how did we bend far backwards for 'islamic law'? They were removed from the plane. that has yet to be determined by lawsuits I would imagine.

QUOTE(SnB @ Nov 21, 2006 -> 02:34 PM) I'm an awful person for having this stuck in my head. http://www.borat-son.com/2006/11/15/in-my-...-down-the-well/ warning: pretty offensive, but then again it is borat, so it's kinda expected. La-La-La You will never get this….. and then one day Bellow break out of his cage and get it.

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Nov 21, 2006 -> 01:51 PM) My question here is why should we bend so far backwards to accomodate Islamic Law? This is another example of how these people think their religon is the be all / end all of existence and that nothing else matters. What was stopping these guys from doing their prayers before takeoff? Before they came to the airport? They totally should have been bounced from that flight cause they thumbed their nose at the rules. Maybe if Muslims were more tolerant and accomodating of American Culture ( which still is for the most part tolerant of their culture being a guest in our country ) they would find less hostility to them. Nuke will you be my VP?
