  5. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Nov 17, 2006 -> 12:33 PM) I hate to be a stick in the mud...or eye...but I agree about the work aspect. My first act as Soxtalk President would be to change the name of Sex, Lies, and Music Forum.
  6. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Nov 17, 2006 -> 10:30 AM) Anyone? Mr. Southsider2k5, I had something more written out, but I felt like being short and sweet. I think I would approach this subject with the humility to admit that I am by no means an expert on this subject. I am quite familiar with many alternative souces of energy, but I would try to build a non-partisan task force with the intention of solving this issue and building a timeline for change that includes immediate steps as well as long term goals. I would appoint members who have varying backgrounds in energy policy, i.e. green energy experts, oil industry experts, and economists, with the intention of understanding all sides of the issue. PA
  7. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Nov 17, 2006 -> 11:38 AM) Why is there a DJ? Do a lot of comics just decide to bust out a Rap often? it's to get "the kids" into the show.... :rollyeyes:
  8. I think it's time to change the name of this forum. This forum is much more than music....and sex and lies just doesn't look good if I'm on this at work. I suggest, in homage of NPR's kickassness, Soxtalk's "All Things Re-Considered" Forum Any supporters of that idea?
  9. QUOTE(Balance @ Nov 17, 2006 -> 10:50 AM) The definition used in the poll for Integrity is not correct. Integrity does not mean that a person is "the same person in all situations." It means "adherence to moral and ethical principles; soundness of moral character; honesty." (From Dictionary.com) also from Dictionary.com Integrity is being undivided or complete. If I am whole, I am not divided into different people, i.e. one person to someone and another person to someone else. Therefore, I am the same person in all situations. On a practical level, Ted Haggard acted one way at church and another way behind closed doors. Ted Haggard did not exhibit integrity. Hope that helps.
  10. QUOTE(Texsox @ Nov 17, 2006 -> 09:05 AM) That's pay for the pump . . . or...pay BEFORE the pump

  14. QUOTE(Texsox @ Nov 16, 2006 -> 03:17 PM) I would like to make a proposal. Since we have a plethora of candidates, why not have primaries and then have a Dem, a Rep, and a Ind for a ticket and run? We could use the platforms and these threads and vote by this weekend. Then run the main campaigns. That's a great idea. You must have a brilliant advisor

Soxtalk 2005 Hall of Fame Soxtalk 2004 Thread Starter of the Year First of all, I would like to recognize your acheivements here at soxtalk, but we must look to the future, Tex. I believe experience is a good thing, but at some point you lose touch with your constituents. So I ask again, what are your plans for soxtalk in the future? Secondly, this is your second personal attack on me. Is this something we can expect from you during your campaign or if you were elected?
