QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Nov 10, 2006 -> 02:02 AM) I was at an event with Dusty Baker tonight. Rumor has it the Padres want him. Espn.com MLB page this will only be funny for the next few hours....but if you follow this link to the MLB page on ESPN.com, you'll be very confused by the above rumor... Padres hired their coach...announce his race instead of name???

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Nov 9, 2006 -> 09:42 PM) http://www.reneeolstead.com/ Wow...just...wow...she's 16, with a voice like this...and singing this music. Wow. Shivers down the spine man, shivers. doesn't hurt to have David Foster running your ship. she sounds good. Bethany Dillon is great too.

QUOTE(CrimsonWeltall @ Nov 9, 2006 -> 07:18 PM) Whichever one speaks out more against porn. If Jas doesn't consider viewing porn to be a bad thing, he wouldn't be a hypocrite at all. if you consider porn an "ok" thing... your hypocrisy isn't the thing we should be worried about. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Nov 9, 2006 -> 06:04 PM) Fixed. The thing I don't like about standard religion is the things people do in the NAME of it. Crusades, jihads, etc. Believe what you want to believe and apply it to yourself. If there is a judgment, don't judge me, someone of a much higher power will. Also, people who won't acknowledge that there COULD be another religion out there that MAY be right. Uch, that drives me crazy. To me, religion is ethereal and subject to interpretation, otherwise there wouldn't be this many different religions and sub-religions. BTW, I'm Jewish, just so's ya'll know. so i'm guessing Kinky was your man?

I've never felt so violated as I watched two naked pale hairy guys do what they did.... I've never laughed so much either.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Nov 9, 2006 -> 07:37 AM) Some would argue that it is inspired by God and not so "man made". PA, that is a great line about hypocrites. Of course there are hypocrites in all areas of life. And it is far easier to spot a hypocrite that professes to a higher standard, regardless of belief. Not to pick on Jas and PA, but I will because they have been brave enough to post their beliefs here and elsewhere. First off, shall we use this definition? hypocrite: a person whose actions contradict their stated or internal beliefs. On one hand we have Jas, who wishes to be kind, nice, and basically a "good" person. PA, seemingly, by his stated adherence to a formal religious doctrine, has a higher standard to keep. If they both act like good humans, with an occasional shortcoming, who is more likely to be branded a hypocrite for picking up that porn? It will be PA who is trying to hit a higher standard and Americans love to chop the legs out from someone who is trying to hit that higher standard. weird font. great point.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Nov 8, 2006 -> 10:57 AM) No, I'm sold on a little University in Austin Texas You may have herd of it . . . BTW, Hampshire will require a lifetime of debt on his part, $40,000 per year + + + Perhaps you've heard of a better school just up highway 6? WHOOOP!

hold the phone.... he was only there for a year or so....does that even count?

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Nov 8, 2006 -> 11:54 PM) Jason's right, and you're right too, PA. Religion is a man made situation, and therefore, imperfect. Church, however, should not be considered as such, and there's a big, big difference. I was merely making a point. I watched "Borat" tonight and laughed my butt off at the Pentacostal church he invades. They're speaking jibberish and dancing around for the "Lord". It just makes me scoff at everything around me "Christian" or Agnostic or Atheist or Otherwise.
-
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Nov 8, 2006 -> 08:13 PM) Nope, you will not catch me in a church. I've had too many dealings with hypocrites involved with organized religion so I do things my way. that's ironic, I go to church because I've had too many dealings with hypocrites NOT involved with organized religion. do your thing, though. QUOTE(Texsox @ Nov 8, 2006 -> 08:32 PM) I've had to start some research as well. There is a young man I want to hire for my Boy Scout High Adventure Sea Base, but as a Jehovah's Witness, he does not say the Pledge of Allegiance. They place their only Pledge to God. Likewise, a couple friends of mine are JW. They don't celebrate birthdays or holidays. Their religion was started to more or less finance a magazine published by the founder of JWs... curious, huh?

I his name would have been "smooches galore"

QUOTE(maggliopipe @ Nov 8, 2006 -> 06:33 PM) Maybe this was already mentioned, but David Loebsack (in his first attempt running for public office) took Iowa's second district over 15 term incumbent Jim Leach. He's a political scientist professor at my alma mater, Cornell College in Mt Vernon, a school of ~1000 students. Pretty sweet and considered quite an upset. I don't know if this was mentioned...but his last name is Loebsack....

try and tell me this guy didn't have the world handed to him. Nice resume.

that's what happens when you focus too much on one piece of scripture and make it the flagship of your doctrine. for the family and friends.

America Votes for Change! -gets 4 quarters for a dollar bill. What last night was = A wake up call for repubs and most incumbents (teddy ain't gettin bounced in the north and trent lott ain't gettin bounced in the south) your jobs are safe if you practice smart balanced politics...they're not when you align yourself so heavily on your party rather than your constituents. what last night wasn't = a mandate for democratic politics. It was what it was. America said, we don't like the direction we're going in, so someone (anyone) change it. If it were really about democrats, this would have been far more one sided. I'm glad to see what happened happen. I think GWB needs to see that America is paying attention and the GOP will be left in the dust if it continues to act so arrogant. I voted for santorum because some of his politics are close to mine...the hating gays part isn't mine, but I couldn't vote for Casey. He won anyway. This was another lets vote for the other guy who's not santorum, and that's Rick's fault. He overplayed his politics and tried to be a southern republican in a moderate rublican state. That's why spectre has been around so long. anyway. Let's just hope we can get America back on track.....but who am I kidding?
-
QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Nov 8, 2006 -> 02:22 AM) This is a great night to be a democrat! or perhaps a great night to be anything other than an incumbent republican...

Great Job Mike. We're all behind you at soxtalk! But just think....now you can concentrate on making more babies and posting on soxtalk. -
QUOTE(AbeFroman @ Nov 7, 2006 -> 10:50 PM) I'm pretty happy that right-wing nut Santorum is out.... That's Pennsylvania for you though... The politics here are so effed up it doesn't make sense. It's so bandwagon it hurts....but imagine that in the state of The Phillies, Eagles, Sixers, Flyers, Steelers, Pirates and Penguins... Losers all over the place. Hooray Texas!

I'm laughing at the democrats who are saying "we've really come together and organized our party and that's what you're seeing tonight" people hate GWB, they're voting for the opposite of him...it could be the duck party whose platform is bikini waxing for the elderly and the results would be the same. "Taking back America" is a joke. More people voted for Bush in 04 and it showed the make up of America. In two years people are just mad at the lack of vision (as they have a right to be) by the current leadership. by no means does this indicate a change in the way our nation thinks or the 50/50 polictical makeup. In two years if dems dont get their act together, it'll be the other way around.

Hey Rex, How was your night working the polls? They called the PA senate race.... that's the biggest story of the night, imo. Santorum was untouchable 2 years ago.
