  1. We've been awful at home but maybe this changes things around. Pods has been great-what a rebirth
  2. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 16, 2009 -> 10:55 PM) We hit Dempster hard last year. Let's make it a White Sox Tradition. Yeah but that must have been luck because he has that devastating twisting his glove move
  3. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jun 15, 2009 -> 12:43 PM) In 4 at bats. Mark Buehrle and Clayton Richard have more home runs, doubles and r.b.i than Dewayne Wise. That is not good. This says it all
  4. They wont take Campbell's salary-and I see Cam Barker, though I dont like it, being the centerpiece of a trade package
  5. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 15, 2009 -> 08:34 AM) I know some out there might still be bitter over the whole Peavy situation. Well, he's out for the next 3 months, if not longer, his contract escalates, and we SHOULD get to watch Poreda get his first Major League start at some point soon. Sometimes, the best trades are the ones you don't make, and the poor Padres are really screwed given their ace who makes more than they can afford is out until mid-September at best. We havent been very lucky on the field, but we lucked out here for now. He'll be available about the time the Cubs sale is complete, and he'll still end up there
  6. Cristiano Ronaldo will be leaving Man U for Real Madrid. A record 80 million offer was accepted and deal should be finalized by end of June per Goal.com
  7. I think that Williams has learned from 2006 & 2007 with veterans, and the improvement in 2008 with Quentin Danks Floyd etc that giving the young players a chance is not necessarily punting the season. We will see guys like Allen sooner than we think
  8. I am glad to see this issue pointed out. This is my source for Sox info, as it likely is for others, as I refuse to listen to jaded old opinions heard on sports talk radio. And its sometimes difficult to get to updated info in a post because of the comedic negative comments made. I can get that stuff from the great Dan Bernstein if I wanted it. This is escape from him and those like him, and I thank the moderators for making the effort.
  9. So, he is not helpful in bringing along what young talent we have, and veterans with no trades dont want to come here. When is Guillen going to slide from the asset side to the liability side?
  10. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 12:01 PM) McCarver on Saturday said he doesn't think Frank will get into the HOF, is that the national perception of him? I thought with the steroid era he'd get in There's no legit Hall of Fame without Frank thomas
  11. We should get Alex Sinnellias to donate for every visitor HR because we are being out homered every series in our own park
  12. 2 manufactured runs we win by 2 I like it
  13. Next time someone is DL'd this may happen-they will be launching Corky off the 40, right?
  14. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 3, 2009 -> 09:26 AM) I agree completely. Dewayne Wise is not a major league player, I've said it before. I've also said before, and will continue to, that you can make a long list of outfielders just in the organization, that are better than Wise. He should be about the 8th OF, by my math. 8th is being generous
  15. QUOTE (danman31 @ May 28, 2009 -> 11:16 PM) Who cares? He is a professional basketball player. I don't care about Memphis and root for the Bulls. It has no standing on his NBA career. I'll forget about this in a couple months. This comment is everything thats wrong with the basketball system. Go to a school-screw the grades I 'm gonna be a millionaire. The hell with someone who wants to be in any other profession. One conversation with this guy and the school knew he was an idiot. They are all responsible, including the player. Maybe you will forget it in a couple of months, but someone with a kid in college, legitimatly paying for their more deserving kid to get a real education, should detest this and never forget it, or it keeps happening.
  16. Pods has helped more than anyone ever thought and has earned the right to stay on this team.
  17. He gets on base-and has hit both left & right handers He'd just more versatile with the bat than Wise could ever be
  18. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 24, 2009 -> 04:01 PM) He was in the top 6 in catchers in OPS in 2008 a typical season for him. He calls a good game, and the guy who doesn't ever shake off catchers, Mark Buerhle, is far and away the White Sox best performer on the mound since AJP has been a White Sox. He doesn't throw well, but nobody is going to throw out most of the basestealers against the White Sox. Floyd and Contreras do not hold guys on. Before him, we had to deal with guys like Ben Davis, Brook Fordyce, a 100 year old Sandy Alomar Jr., Mark Johnson. AJP has been a godsend. Its too bad a lot of people don't recognize that. Get rid of him and the Sox will spend the next 5 years looking for someone to take his place unless Flowers suddenly shows he can stop a ball. He is getting older, and he's close to the point a lot of catchers lose it. Trading him would be silly. Its yet another example of be careful what you wish for. Josh Fields all of a sudden doesn't look better than Joe Crede. He suddenly doesn't look better than Juan Uribe.
  19. I'd rather see Zambrano get shelled Peavy can get bit by a Shark at his San Diego beach tomorrow
  20. This is like that day/nite DH a few years ago when they did this twice in same day
  21. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
  22. Being one of those who heard the Air Raid sirens that great night in Sept 1959, I'd love to go
