QUOTE(fathom @ Dec 20, 2007 -> 03:17 PM) If his master plan was to acquire Cabrera, then he should have used Garland to get more prospects that would interest the Marlins. Obviously, the Marlins wanted a catching prospect in the deal. Nice of KW to have no knowledge of that. He has no knowlege of anything pertaining to baseball operations

2 weeks ago Crisp was garbage and now some want him? What the hell is going on? Williams will overpay for this bum and people will not care because we have our outfielder and forget what a dolt Williams is for putting us in this position.

QUOTE(BearSox @ Dec 19, 2007 -> 08:51 PM) I'd consider this offseason a good one if KW finally concedes defeat and goes into rebuilding mode. And Williams goes to-

QUOTE(YASNY @ Dec 19, 2007 -> 10:54 AM) From what I've heard, the pitchers are dominating in that league. So Richar is not the only one with crappy numbers. Do they play day or night games there? cant imagine lighting very good if at nite.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Dec 15, 2007 -> 03:31 PM) Would you say that having Danks shut down in the 2nd half like last year taxed the bullpen? Because the White Sox's bullpen was one of the least used in baseball. And it has been every one of the last 4 years. No team's starters have thrown more innings than ours the last 4 years, no team's bullpen has thrown fewer innings than ours, entirely because of the way Ozzie uses his pitchers and the presence of this Buehrle dude. Whether the starters are great or suck, Ozzie gives his starters the innings and the remote chance to win games until they totally explode. Especially if we stick a 12 man bullpen out there, there is no reason why anyone would look at the White Sox's stats for the last few years and expect that the bullpen is going to be really taxed. None at all. You are right-but both Danks and or Floyd will be on the short leash, like Garland was early in Guillens term. So we will have a long reliever, probably the other of these two, that will need a couple of days between appearances. I see 12 pitchers-even at the start-but the need for good long relief is necessary

White Sox listening to offers....
klaus kinski replied to DaGame's topic in Sox Baseball Headquarters
I just love how they have so many people thinking like them- The words cost and cheap are used in many posts to justify them making personell moves. How about get whoever it takes to win while being smart? Cheap doesnt necessarily mean smart. And I would not trade Konerko out of a home run park like ours. -
Really appreciate those 2 after a year of Andy Gonzalez.

Most difficult out of our lifetimes

QUOTE(kwolf68 @ Dec 13, 2007 -> 09:55 AM) Why does this shock you? ...I think Williams is becomming somewhat of a joke. ... From his inability to properly gauge peek value of his aging vets to his absolutely ludicrous idea to shop players that completely suck/past their prime/not productive/overpaid at the deadline last year (Count) shows me the guy is becomming like that stooge in your fantasy football league who tries to trade you Cedric Benson for LaDainian Tomlinson. He became a joke last year-he has exceeded requirements this year

When Cameron hit those HR off Parque it was JUICE against JUICE

Knocking Clemens out in the World Series so much sweeter now. What a phoney piece of crap he has been.

QUOTE(buckweaver @ Dec 13, 2007 -> 07:25 AM) You are all a bunch of ingrates. The guy puts together the only Chicago baseball world championship in our lifetimes, goes after marquee names and is consistently putting a competitive product on the field. He's done so every year in his tenure. You don't think he's anguishing over the fact that his top moves got thwarted? And why did that happen...because every other general manager of a major league team is working his ass off to better his team, too. You want the days of Ron Scheuler, who was too afraid to make a move without someone wiping his ass? You want Larry Himes back? You want the times when, maybe, we rented a decent player or two for a season but couldn't afford to keep them? You wonder why the Chicago White Sox are considered a small market team playing in one of the three largest cities in the country...it's because of THAT crappy history of GMs. Kenny Williams is responsible for moving this organization into the league to compete with the big boys. I'd rather be a fan of a team that swings and misses than one who never steps to the plate. So why don't all you constant complainers move across the city...you'll fit right in. In truth, he had more to do with quickly dismantling a World Champion, than putting it together. This team had a long string of 90 win and competitive seasons under Ron Schueler than under Williams. Williams was busy ruining the farm system he was in charge of before being given the GM job over more qualified people. Larry Himes drafted and developed our star players of the early 90's. Know what you are talking about before calling me an ingrate.

QUOTE(The Beast @ Dec 12, 2007 -> 08:14 PM) Props to Kenny on the Andy Gonzalez move, here's to me hoping that they'll offer Crede arbitration. That was so obvious even Williams couldnt miss that one

I really didnt hear a plan there-other than the pipe dream before Thanksgiving He wont make a deal just to make a deal? Thats sure news

Really though, I dont mind this as much as we were led to believe we would have quality improvements, yet all we have is a rent a shortstop, another Luis Terrero, and 200 less innings in our rotation. Williams has failed in every aspect, except overpaying. And for that, Reinsdorf is forever grateful.

Hey Kenny-the Death Star is finished As are your 1 A-Z plans

Maybe the work harder was meant for Zen Williams

QUOTE(jasonxctf @ Dec 11, 2007 -> 09:50 PM) I can only think of 2 other big league OF's who came over... Ichiro and Matsui. Am I forget anyone who flopped? Didnt the Cardinals have one?

I cant believe anyone looks past the free agent signings and even brings up the HUGE Quentin acquistion as Major League. Just look at whats going on-everywhere but here. I'm mad for me, for Buehrle, and for Dye, who is probably sitting home getting madder by the minute. Williams is a disgrace
