Daley: Chicago Would Be 'Ideal Site' For Olympics
there was an article about this 5 months ago. in the trib. about a 2nd nfl team, and Daley is seriously considering a bid for the 2016 Summer Games. A second NFL team would be a long shot. The league's top priority is to try to keep the New Orleans Saints in their hurricane-battered hometown. After that, Los Angeles, a city without an NFL team, is viewed as next in line for any franchise transplant or expansion. And any team that would consider Chicago most likely would have to pay a hefty fee to the Chicago Bears to compensate for moving into their territory. The idea of importing another football team hasn't reached the NFL, which on Thursday said it had heard nothing of it. A decision to move a team would require a favorable vote by 24 of 32 team owners. the link does not work any more, but i posted it in another forum i use and found it.

ESPN AM 1000: Programming Changes
QUOTE(Brian @ May 10, 2006 -> 11:08 AM) Despite all your complaining, it seems you are still listening. yep, and I will for a whole week before i will make my final decision. How can I have an opinion if I did not get to check the show out.

ESPN AM 1000: Programming Changes
And now they just called the KC royals, the KC chiefs. And they don’t know what beer is sold at the cell. This is a national show attempting to be local. i wonder if they know that cub and sox fans usually don’t get along.

ESPN AM 1000: Programming Changes
One of them called the Steelers, the Philadelphia Steelers. And today they kept on saying that Angelo should have take a good TE early in the draft. to bad he does not know that the bears use TE for blocking not catching. That’s like getting running shoes to Ron Santo for x-mass.

the whole "were the new black" is gay. Ill give them a week but I don’t like a lot of the opinions heard today.

ESPN AM 1000: Programming Changes
C&S had a nice show, but it was more like the conversation I have with my friends about sports. And I seldomly learned anything new from their show. I liked that they actually talked about the bulls. But I only listened to them cause I cant stand Mike north.

Chicago Cubs and Sox Fan
Also if people claim to be fan of both teams, ask them who would they root for in the World Series, then you will know who they really like. Most times I ask this ;cubs is the response I get, from people who said they like both teams.

Chicago Cubs and Sox Fan
Ok I hope I can express this in writing, But I look at this way, if you root for both teams, its like being bisexual, you just want to get laid and you don’t care witch teams it is. I have more respect for a gay guy IE cub fan, than a Bi guy, IE likes both teams. you cant truest the Bi guy.

McCarthy - Shades of Carrie Woods?
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 04:03 PM) It is also quite a bad idea to trade a pitcher just because you THINK he will have arm problems. What if he becomes a stud? Too bad, he might have shoulder problems. :rolly are you jim hendry?? I bet the cubs could have gotten a lot more for wood after the 20k game, than now. sell high buy low my friend.

McCarthy - Shades of Carrie Woods?
Bmac puts a lot of stress on his arm when he throws; he doe not use his legs much. After 2-5 good years I would like for us to trade him, because I don’t think he will have a long career. I think we will be able to get a lot for him. Just my humble opinion. His delivery reminds me a bid of black jack.

I was reading about the negro leagues on wikiP
another tid bit In 1944, Bill Veeck tried to buy the Philadelphia Phillies with the intention of signing black ballplayers immediately. When Judge Landis, Baseball Commissioner, commissioner of Major League Baseball, was informed of Veeck's plan, he had the National League buy the team and award it to William Cox.

on July 14, 1887, Cap Anson's Chicago White Stockings(cubs) were scheduled to play the Newark Giants of the International League, which had Walker and George Stovey on its roster. After Anson marched his team onto the field, military style as was his custom, he demanded that the blacks not play. Newark capitulated, and later that same day, league owners voted to refuse future contracts to blacks, citing the "hazards" imposed by such athletes. Link i found this kind of interesting

Brandon McCarthy
Juiced ball Aaron Likes Thome He is fine doing what the sox need. Whether its setup or closer. He does not care he just throws strikes. He feels more comfortable around the club house. Were in a though division. Talked about AJs championship belt

Comebacks for Sox Fans
im in a local fantasy league with cub and sox fans. i posted this 2 days ago. "I love it when the cubs get a hot start cause all the cub fans start chirping. The best part is that the cub fans now actually believe that they have a shot, which will make the collapse even better and more enjoyable. Last year the cubs were out of it, so making fun of cub fans was not as enjoyable. It’s a lot more fun to hunt a fox who thinks he can escape than to hunt a fox that just gives up and wants to get shot."

Smoking banned at US Cellular
I’m a smoker, and if there are TVs in the designated areas so I can keep on following the game then that should be fine. I will miss having a cigarette, on the concourse and watching the game live.

Hermanson -- retirement not an option
He can’t control how his back feels, but he can control his attitude, and that’s exactly what you want to hear.
