Sox vs Cubs
I'm in absolute glory with this rain delay theater on 670 right now. If my power gets knocked out then I'm going into my car to listen to this.

Sox/Cubs series
This is so pure. Oh, and Gordon Wittenmeyer...take it easy. A keyboard can be a dangerous thing. Maybe try wearing safety mittens when you're typing your next article.

Sox vs Cubs game thread May 27, 2013
Heads up to everybody- Cub v. Sock post-game shows are typically something to behold and probably shouldn't be missed- especially if the Cub wins with a lopsided score.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
Glad to see Wise continue to make contributions. He wore three other jerseys in between stints with the Sox, but it's still kind of surprising to me that he's on the roster six seasons after his (Sox) debut.

Extra innings are just no good for your health in the long run.

2012-13 Music Thread
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 10, 2013 -> 07:46 AM) Paul McCartney is playing in Milwaukee and Indy, but not Chicago. Boooooooo I'm thinking about giving the Miller Park show a look-see. Wrigley in 2011 was excellent, but the venue was a big part of that. Miller Park won't have that going for it, unfortunately. I see he's playing Fenway this summer- if I didn't already have 5 other shows spoken for by my wallet, that would have been the one to attend. I was surprised that he's playing Bonnaroo. It just doesn't strike me as an event he would play.

2013 MLB Catch-All thread
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 22, 2013 -> 05:18 PM) This is just amazing Jon Morosi @jonmorosi 7m One more Mariano Rivera note: In 1379 innings, no player has hit more than 2 career HR against him. It's impressive to watch how dominant Rivera continues to be into his 40's. The first comparison that comes to mind is Barry Bonds. Roger Clemens is another one.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 21, 2013 -> 08:09 AM) Death toll jumps from 91 down to 24, not really sure how that happens. After some of the award winning coverage we've all been treated to in recent times, resurrections should surprise no one.

5/16 White Sox @ Angels
Quintana (2-1, 3.72 ERA) @ Williams (2-1, 3.06 ERA) Win tonight, and you will almost need two hands to count how many games in a row the Sox will have won! Some people don't even have that many hands!

Should White Sox Hold or Fold?
QUOTE (fathom @ May 13, 2013 -> 05:39 PM) It seems like there are less teams than usual that might be looking to sell. It must be the optimism about TV rights, etc. Teams like the Mets and Padres are talking about adding payroll despite losing records this year. Just an observation- it feels as if every year one hears about another 2 or 3 teams that acquire the license to print their own money via new Broadcast rights deals. At what point is everyone back to a level playing field? I know I read something a while back that had a pretty sizable group of teams (7 or 8 IIRC) on the verge of having their current deals expire by 2015 or so.
