  1. That is incredible. Pete Rose and Ty Cobb would have been fined for every game they ever played in. Who the hell is Bob Watson anyway? Did he ever play baseball?
  2. You don't run Alex for Konerko or Thome here? Thome, ok but break up the DP puhleese.
  3. Why do I get the feeling that there are people in NY snickering that the player Ozzie put in to save the ASG is now in facing that same manager three days later to win a game against him? Ozzie should have put in Jenks and AJP in the 9th of the ASG.
  4. CBS has Crede still at third. no? Pablo in for Joe? That might explain the change for Pods in left after the AB but why is Joe out in a tied ball game? I don't get that move at all. Unless.... they are shoping Pablo for trade material.
  5. QUOTE(Felix @ Jul 14, 2006 -> 08:10 PM) Randy Johnson isn't a RHP. Farnsworth is. The last AB for Ozuna should have been Pods in a tight ball game.
  6. 4 days off, right hander, Pods is sitting? Is there a message being sent here?
  7. BA is up to .196. Nice. C'mon, BA get over .200 of Randy Johnson.
  8. Pods, Fields and Vaz for Carl Crowford would work for me.
  9. QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 12, 2006 -> 06:31 PM) We sat in a tent on the 17th green - thank God it was not in the sun - and had a blast also. Got there at 7 and sat all the way to the end. Ran over to watch Immelman birdie 18 then raced home to see the rest of the game. The way I understand it the Western will be back next year then start the tour. Is that not correct? Also, it will be lucky to get back here every 3 years, and they are moving it to the fall. It's totally going to suck I agree. We've gone every year the past 7 years. It will be back next year as the BMW Championship, not the Western Open.
  10. I went to the Western for the final round on Sunday. Thanks to the Sox for hanging in there till I got home. As for the golf, wow. I played the red/white/blue course that they carve out of courses one and three in the morning. The put together 3 nines and we started about 5:30 AM. I shot a 43, 48, 40. Then it was off to see the Pros play. I planted my self at the 12th tee. For those unfamiliar with Cog Hill, the 12 tee and the 14th green are right next to each other. You can sit on top of the hill to the left of the 12 tee and watch both holes. They are par 3s starting on an elevated tee to well protected greens. The 12th is a kidney shaped green with a deeeeep bunker in front and the Sunday pin was set just above the front bunker at the narrowest point of the green. It is only about 20-25 feet deep there. To the right of the green is a large oak and OB. Behind the green is OB. We watched as the PGA pros put shot after shot in the bunker, over or out. The smart play seemed to be hitting the fat part of the green and playing for par. No one had attacked the pin successfully... until Tiger came to the tee. He hit a ball with in 18" and stopped it dead on the stick. It was a tap in for bird. Just nuts. On 14, he landed on the from of the green and played the break perfectly as the ball rolled to with in 10'. He knocked it down for another bird. So then he cracks a huge drive down the 15th fairway, a short par 5. He shanked his approach shot into the trees. He actually yelled fore... like anyone in the county didn't have their eyes on him. He made a 5 but that was giving one back to the field as the 15th surrendered birdies all day. He ended up falling one shy of the leader until he birdie 18 to make the final a two stroke win. Hot day but worth it. These guys are just incredible. Damn shame that the Western Open will be no more. I have been there several times. I will miss it even if it is here every other year. There will be a big gapping hole in July now. To bad.
  11. Ozzie Plan doesn't allow you to purchase playoff tickets, does it?
  12. You have seen a picture posted. I have seen her My Space... Doesn't mean is it is not a 40 yr ol dude putttin it up.
  13. Anyone starting to get the feeling that these posts are authored by a 43 year old dude? In a dress?
  14. QUOTE(Jake @ Jul 9, 2006 -> 09:16 PM) Our bullpen is really very good without Cliff in it. He did well today. It is a start.
  15. Smolinski = pissed. Fan - Didn't you play for the... Smolinski - Yes. Fan - What happened to you? Smolinski - I got traded to Chicago. Fan - Ohhh, sorry.
  16. Great win. Does not get over the fact that we lost two.... almost three games to a post season team. Have fun, enjoy the break. We get to see the 50-36 Yankees next. They are gunning for the World Champs. When play resumes, be ready to give it all you got. It doesn't get any easier from here.
  17. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 12:12 PM) Brian Anderson is hitting .267 this month. Keep it up kid. He has a two game hitting streak on the line tonight too. Gooo BA.
  18. It seems to me, every time Farmer starts talking about a HR, it happens. I can't remember how many times he has done it but he will say something along the lines of "Boy, a long one here would put the Sox right back in it." And then his next line is "And there is a deep shot to right....". It seems they call the shot pretty often.
  19. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Jul 6, 2006 -> 11:19 PM) I'm glad to see BA getting a couple hits in today's game! :headband You took the post right out of my key board. Nice job today for BA. He continues to climb out of the cellar. He hit .193 in June. The way he approaching ABs these days, it would not surprise me to see him over .250 for July. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jul 6, 2006 -> 11:31 PM) Just got back. Great to see AJ after we won it for him. He was able to get on a mic and thank us all before the game. What did he say?
