  1. Of all the teams that made moves in the last two weeks, I think the most threatening to the White Sox chances at the post season was what the Yankees did. I still think the Tigers can be caught and passed by the White Sox. If we even make it a race, the wild card should be ours for the taking. But this team needs to get hungry real soon. Everyone in the locker room now knows they are staying with a contender. It is time to step it up a notch and play hard.
  2. QUOTE(AWhiteSoxinNJ @ Jul 31, 2006 -> 02:00 PM) Rowand was just pulled from the game....it is 9-1 Marlins. Utley got a hit before being pulled as well. 32 now.
  3. I don't get this one... especially the second part of it. Shelton fell off the face of the earth in June but rebounded with a .289 avg. in July. Not the numbers he was putting up early but certainly survivable on most clubs. I guess it is not so much that they wanted to add a bat but that the guy was just sent down. I thought he was a bigger part of this club than that. Guess not.
  4. Pitch speeds for Bobby. Hernandez ?, 99, 99, 98, 99, 98, 99 - Ground out to first. Lopez 99, 92, 85 (hook), 84 (nasty hook) - Struck out looking silly. Markakis ?, 97, 98, 99 - Ground out to SS.
  5. QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 08:52 PM) I'm currently spotting wood for Gload. How do you spot wood?
  6. It will be nice to see Bobby pitch when it counts again.
  7. How did Paulie leave the game? Did it have anything to do with the foul off his knee?
  8. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 08:45 PM) If we pull this out this could be a huge turning point. THE turning point.
  9. QUOTE(My Dixie Normus @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 08:43 PM) Damn BA would have doubled.
  10. QUOTE(My Dixie Normus @ Jul 28, 2006 -> 08:41 PM) Let BA hit. Damn
  11. Brian Anderson is hitting .308 in July. He added 31 points to his average this month. Not spectacular season totals but he continues to improve and gain confidence in the box. Defensively, he is a huge improvement over Pods. A few years from now we will look back and he will be a .260-.280 career hitter. That will be fine. This "liability" tag is crap.
  12. I have never liked playoff teams that had to go through a great run and come from behind to get into the playoffs. They run out of steam. I don't want that to be the White Sox this year. It shouldn't be, thats for sure.
  13. I hope it was over creative differences on the A-Rod thing.
  14. ESPN fired Harold Reynolds with very little to say about why. It smells like an ethical issue of some type but I wouldn't want to jump to that conclusion. I always thought he was one of the best out there. Whatever it is, I hope it is not so serious that it keeps him out of baseball. I would love to see him manage a team sometime. I think he is a pretty sharp guy.
  15. BA is hitting .333 since the ASG with 2-doubles and now a HR last night. I know it is only 8 games but still... His hitting started to improve a great deal before the break when he ran pitch counts up even if he didn't get on base. His bat is currently not the liability it was in April, May and June. There is no reason to move him out of CF right now. If they deal for Sariono, Pods is the odd man out. He will not move to center field. I think he gets moved to another team for bullpen help. Maybe to the Cubs for Eyre.
  16. I would be fine with BMac or Pods but not both and not either with Fields. Too much to give up for 3 months. But this teams needs a shake up for sure.
  17. If McCarthy is going to ever be a starting pitcher you have to let him pitch to batters from both sides of the plate. With two outs and a six run lead, this would have been a pretty good spot to let him refresh his memory that baseball is played from both sides. I am sick of seeing this guy yanked too early.
