  1. QUOTE(South Side Fireworks Man @ Mar 12, 2007 -> 06:01 PM) He's been talking about that sandwich since Saturday. Can it pitch every fifth day?
  2. Well, not when he was in Seattle, but as soon as he got here. Before he was "fixed."
  3. Anytime we can avoid a lefty like Lee I'm happy.
  4. Bad bad bad. Sisco should be starting in AAA. Aardsma should be there, with Logan as the other lefty. Podsednik should be on the DL. Perez should be on the team; Anderson too.
  5. I've always been a big fan of Matt Thornton.
  6. Well I do too, but it's always been that way, from Ball Four to Barry Bonds.
  7. I meant that most players don't rat each other out in situations like that because they think it's bad for the game, b, and they do things of the sort themselves, a.
  8. I really wish Haeger or Floyd would get it. I don't want to start Danks' arbitration clock.
  9. It's wrong from our perspective. It's not to most players. Same with steroids.
  10. He was on coke and heroin. I was posting about my support for him on another forum I frequent. Great story. Good luck to that boy. I hope he's clean and comes back beating the world.
  11. I don't necessarily think we should re-acquire him. I just wouldn't mind it, especially compared to Anderson who I don't think will ever be a good hitter.
  12. Sure. I was just pointing out that he was battling injuries for much of the second half. That Brian Anderson was tied offensively with a guy who'd been involved in collisions with teammates and walls, and who hadn't had a particularly impressive season since 2004, isn't very impressive to me.
  13. When discussing Rowand's post-ASB numbers, we should point out that he was dealing with injuries and their after-effects. Will BA be better than him? Perhaps. I'd take Rowand, though. I've never been high on BA. Good post Screw.
  14. I'd be amazed if Libby were pardoned. If I'm reading this Bush right, he just doesn't do that. If Libby is pardoned, it'll be at the very end. That's right. A lot of them are working for Baby Bush. But everyone pardons scummy people. My favorites? Reagan pardoning Watergate burglars. Jimmy Carter pardoning the men who tried to kill Harry Truman with machine guns and who almost broke into his home at the time (the White House was being renovated) because he said they were Puerto Rican nationalists in there as "political prisoners" instead of real ones. And he pardoned, if I recall correctly, the Puerto Rican nationalists who shot up the House of Representatives in the Fifties for the same reason. Wonder if Jimmy would've felt that way if someone had tried to gun him down in a small house his family was in, too.
  15. QUOTE(Texsox @ Mar 7, 2007 -> 09:52 AM) I'd like to offer Senator Ted Stevens of Alaska. I think he'd be a nice, solid pick. Except for being one of the sleazier men in government.
  16. In my opinion you draft for attrition -- to make sure they make it to the majors healthy and so you pick "safe picks." /green I think I agree with you.
  17. Being Pedro Martinez does not significantly impact your winning percentage. Besides, the Expos of Pedro's time were better than Javier's.
  18. QUOTE(Hideaway Lights @ Mar 6, 2007 -> 07:22 PM) Ok, let's discuss Pedro Martinez, for example. I wouldn't embarrass someone by comparing them to Pedro Martinez.
