  1. I wish Mark Cuban would buy the Pittsburgh Pirates.
  2. I don't even agree with that. Griffey is above him, IMO. No, actually, I take that back. I think Frank was a better all-around hitter.
  3. For some reason this reminds me of Newt Gingrich who ran off a long list of terrible things happening in our world and then said, "That's why you should vote Republican!" It was the first thing that came to mind.
  4. Kap: Yes. I was able to pitch a baseball last year, to be sure -- just not particularly well. It wasn't a matter of pain or anything -- just that my mechanics were thrown off from years of not throwing and I had no muscle mass or anything, so my fastball had no Fast, and since I throw a sinking fastball, it didn't...sink...at...the...right...time... But now I'm at full strength. Perhaps better than I've ever been, doing Thrower's Ten and lifting and practicing. It's the first time I've ever trained for a baseball season as it's my senior year and I want to Go. I'm looking good, and I'm feeling good, and now I'm just working on mehcanical things for that first-and-final full season of ball.
  5. In my opinion, Frank Thomas isn't even in Griffey's league. Great player, all the same, but Griffey...man.
  6. SF and SA: My shoulder is back at full strength from conditioning. I'm more than good to go. Just like with my baseball season this year. I do request that you decline from the shameless and unwarranted criticisms of my abilities which far exceed those of you both at any time at any place. ...ya pansies!
  7. What on Earth is wrong with the site's time right now? Is it just me? It has all sorts of crazy times and says all of today's posts were made yesterday.
  8. What the hell does that mean? Is it just me or does the bold conflict with the italics?
  9. QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 24, 2007 -> 11:16 PM) It is up to the courts to decide if he broke down the door and threatened the guy with a sword because he really thought someone was being raped, or he broke down the door, etc. because the TV was too loud or he was deranged. In 99.99% of the cases our system gets it right. The fact that both the porn watcher and the would be hero both are protected in this society by a fair and inpartial court system is a wonderful thing. I would say it's about eighty percent of the time, personally. I don't have much confidence in court-appointed attorneys for the poor, the judgement of a lot of juries or sanity in the appeals process.
  10. I thought it was humorous when I saw the picture of The Chief today in the paper and he looked so solemn.
  11. Read the first fifteen posts or so -- I was under the impression that the school got rid of this because they wanted to host something or other? Read that in the paper this morning. What's the story there?
  12. The story goes -- McVeigh had help building bombs from al-Qaeda in the Phillipines. I'm not sure I believe any of these theories. I don't disbelieve them. But I don't doubt that the plot itself and its motivation were McVeigh's for sure.
  13. Would you say that it is television's Liriano or is it its Broadway?
  14. I think that's a reference to the darkness of their hats. Personally, I want a Blue Jay jersey from the early 1990s.
  15. Iguchi struggled in the seventh spot last year in ST because he was trying different things with his bat. He was experimenting with different approaches to hitting -- a different stance and things of that sort -- and he struggled at the same time as he was in the seventh spot by coincidence. Iguchi could handle any spot in the order, and he knows how to swing a bat, ala Japan, so let's not pretend that somehow he'll fall apart if you put him at seven. I don't think it'll happen because we don't really have good options at second or first without him, but it wouldn't be bad at all.
  16. The title amuses me. I think I'd vote Santo in if I had a say/
  17. I'm glad someone debunked this already. Also: it's Hillary.
  18. Johan Santana will not be a Chicago White Sox player. Cabrera? Ichiro? Maybe, hopefully.
  19. http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/news/artic...sp&c_id=cws Good article on Tracey.
  20. I was shocked when I read this in the paper this morning. This is bananas!
