  1. I think we should all wear black Sox caps but write, "Talk" next to it in white chalk. It'll come off easy in the wash and it'll be a uniform of sorts.
  2. Fifth starter was decided a long time ago, IMO.
  3. Umm, I take back my support for this deal. Mack for Clark straight-up would be such a rip.
  4. You know, I really enjoy the bottom of the ninth in game three in Houston. El Duque, again. Not as good as his Boston outing, but still, amazing.
  5. I'd take Clark over Anderson, and if that means Mackowiak has to go, he has to go. I'd take Clark over any of our outfielders except Dye, actually.
  6. El Duque's ninth inning in Game Three of the 2005 World Series was incredible. Balls of steel.
  7. I don't think KW traded Rowand + Young away because he wanted to "clear the way" for BA -- he traded them because he wanted Vazquez and Thome. I'd bet KW would prefer either one of them to Brian Anderson.
  8. I personally thought that the Freddy Garcia trade would initially bank on how hard he was throwing in the spring. If he regained his velocity after a full offseason, big mistake; if not, then not. I'm really interested to see how he does in the NL.
  9. That was my impression too. &*^%$#%#%$^^&

  11. Yeah, sure, but people were on steroids for a long time before the late 1990s. I've always been under the impression that more people started because I know McGwire, for instance, was on in the late=80s, early-90s (see: FBI -- Operation Equine). First known steroid user was in the seventies. Forget his name. This game hasn't been clean for a long time and won't be, either.
  12. Steroids were going on long before the "late 1990s."
  13. I posted this in the Padres clubhouse section. Glad it's now getting the recognition it deserves. What's this about Moises Alou's pee hands? Oh, I see. Jorge Posada does it too.
  14. That was Ozzie's fault. BA is our best option in CF.
  15. Also: after reviewing his walk numbers and just watching him pitch. He's bad.
  16. Last week was the St. Patrick's Day parade in Mt. Greenwood. It's one of the most disgusting things I've ever seen. Children drink alcohol in front of adults and police officers. Thousands of people fill a neighborhood that isn't made for thousands of people, and then they go into random yards and piss all over their trees, bushes, side of the wall and all those things. Wonder how many people will be alcoholics when they grow up in part because they were taught that drinking heavily on St. Patty's Day when you're, say, fourteen years old is okay, which is something I particularly witnessed: a girl that age chugging shots while a policeman cheered her on. By all means, though. Celebrate your day, if this is something you're into.
  17. Not funny. Ozzie is a player's manager. Particularly a good player's manager. "I felt like he didn't protect me," Zito said. "I know a lot of managers do -- Paul Konerko told me that Ozzie Guillen would take a bullet for his players." Guillen would be like Lou II for Alex Rodriguez. 18. Ozzie Guillen would do wonders for Alex Rodriguez career.
