QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Mar 31, 2006 -> 08:26 AM) Personally I hope you never achieve any of your goals in life. Well, thank you. Actually, I was pondering this earlier this week while going through old Sports Illustrateds, and I retract. I do hope he gets to Five Hundred. I thought what I'd said was dumb and reactionary. ::shrug:: Call me John Kerry.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Mar 30, 2006 -> 10:16 PM) Wow. And I thought I was injury prone. Keep at it and get a better workout regimen, that will help you avoid those tiny nagging injuries. No, no, hahaha. I'm not injury prone. These were all freak accidents. A shard of glass ripped my ankle up when I made a diving catch. A boy kicked me! My shoulder has always been screwed up, but it isn't much of a problem. My groin was not pulled -- I was wrong. Went to a Doctor today, and he said I had a minor bruise in my muscle from something, but that I'd be good to go. I hope my Coach lets me play an inning or two tomorrow. -
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 31, 2006 -> 02:35 PM) As far as I know, this is the first official confirmation I've seen that Rowand and El Duque will be @ the ring ceremony. Folks, make sure they feel welcome. Why? What'd they ever do for this team?! THEY SUCKED, and THAT is why they were traded. Harumph!

I'm saddened by my baseball season. I've never played sports in school before, and on my first few days of practice -- I joined hte team late, at that, too late for fundamentals training -- I had a gash across the back of my right ankle, making all running hard. When that healed, a boy thought it a good idea to boot me in the left thigh and bruise me badly, making movement hard. Further, I have a weak throwing arm, relatively weak, because of a shoulder injury (I need surgery to repair my shoulder) and now that all my lower body was getting better, I pulled my groin. Needless to say, on the bases I've absolutely sucked trying to run and trying to field balls. Plus my glove is old and broken, with two of the fingers ripped. Our opener is Saturday, and I'm not likely to even see playing time -- in fact, I haven't had more than two at-bats, not even during practice! Everytime I go out there I feel like, oh, Joe Borchard. -

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 30, 2006 -> 04:02 PM) Spring Training results matter when a guy who usually throws 99 MPH is only touching 96 and hasn't been finding the strike zone up until today. Give it a rest. Yep, that's it. Everyone here thinks that I'm an Indians fan. You got me pegged. I think you're an Indians fan. That Boone Logan SOB, man. He's a Tribester. Or something. -
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Mar 29, 2006 -> 09:32 PM) Thome at full strength makes me happy....in the pants. Me too.

I feel so bad for Hermanson. Pierzynski never fails to make me smile.

QUOTE(G&T @ Mar 28, 2006 -> 05:25 PM) Hasn't even talked to Rowand yet because he doesn't have the courage. Really likes Rowand and can't wait to give him his ring. (They keep saying final question yet the interview keeps going) Doesn't care about the media, just accepts that he's always wrong. Ozzie is the boss, and if you don't like it on his team, call your agent and get out. Confused as to why people didn't like ending the game yesterday in a tie. Only had Lopez in the pen and he was getting sent down. "Blame it on me." Cubs usually don't bring a competitive lineup to Tucson and had to send a letter to MLB to make them bring a better one. Doesn't get why anyone is mad. Last year he was so sad about the collapse that he really did want to quit. All the criticism wasn't fair to the club because they were trying so hard. He's not here for money and didn't want to bother with all that. Bobby Cox is not good looking, but he's a smart man. Good interview by B&B He should quit being a pussy and call Rowand up.

QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Mar 27, 2006 -> 02:49 PM) Rowand being MVP is a strech... But the rest sounds just right... Except for that whole, Boone Logan making the Team part. -
QUOTE(The Human Borch @ Mar 27, 2006 -> 11:08 PM) Wow, thats a pretty bold prediction. So are you thinking that Iguchi is going to have a disappointing year like Shingo did last year? If you think about it, it would be a similar situation having Cintron step in like Hermanson did last year at closer. I highly doubt it.

QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Mar 27, 2006 -> 02:59 PM) So I hold out some hope that it won't turn into Wrigley South. God forbid we sell out and have people at our games! QUOTE(chitownsportsfan @ Mar 27, 2006 -> 03:28 PM) Well, I seem to recall having this debate about bandwagoners (for or against) about 10 times over the offseason, but I'll offer my argument again. Bangwagon fans mean more revenue which means more payroll. Payroll helps support winning teams. It's a good cycle. I really don't care about bandwagon fans, let me put it this way: why should I be offended, or my enjoyment of the Sox be lessened--because someone else now enjoys them? It isn't like my enjoyment goes down relative to everyone elses going up--there is no big "Sox enjoyment" pie in the sky that everyone gets a piece from. I'm happy that the bangwagoners daughters and sons will now be "hardcore" Sox fans. I was lucky enough to have a hardcore Sox and baseball in general fan as a father. Otherwise, I'd probably be rooting for the Tigers, just like most everyone else here in MI. Ditto. -

QUOTE(retro1983hat @ Mar 27, 2006 -> 01:43 PM) Wonder if Mark will joke with Maddux about accusing him of cheating last year. Oh, I didn't hear about this. What happened? Buehrle is throwing well today. It's very heartening. -

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Mar 27, 2006 -> 12:19 PM) Pretty solid matchup for a spring game. I heard on the way to class that Crede and Uribe are the only ones not with the team today. I hope they are.
