I was under the impression that she was on the back of the bus, not the front.

Hold 'em, Rockies!

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Oct 14, 2007 -> 06:05 PM) They've been looking to unload Burrell for ANYTHING the past few seasons. No, not "anything." They need a live body and until Joe Crede shown himself healthy, he's not it.

The Bears just aren't a good team. The Defense can be pretty good but the offense is, and always will be, abysmal with a ceiling of below-average, and without Hester we'd never score more than ten points.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Oct 14, 2007 -> 03:08 PM) WOW. How exactly did they ask that question? What what his reply? We were talking about The King of Kong and that turned into a conversation about Johnny Depp which turned into a conversation about Hunter Thompson movies which turned into a conversation about his book which turned into her saying, "Didn't he kill a girl in his basement?" and I said, "I'm pretty sure he didn't -- I've never heard it" and she said, "That's a long rumor" I said, "Hmm. I'll check it out when I get home" and from there we started talking about Ted Kennedy and from there we talked about anti-war activists and the criticism I've receieved from them and the controversies that arise when you copy edit something and from there there was no more Hunter Thompson but yeah, Thompson didn't kill anyone to the best of my knowledge and research this morning.

Brian Grise is much better than Rex Grossman. That's not necessarily in response to this last play.

Damn, Anthony Adams is one fat dude.

QUOTE(YASNY @ Oct 13, 2007 -> 08:59 PM) Considering that they won the division by one game, it's not a stretch at all to say the Phils would have fallen short had they not acquired Iguchi. If they hadn't acquired Iguchi they'd have gotten someone else, I'm sure, but their production out of second base had little to do with it, compared to their pitching and the hitting and the Mets collapsing, more than anything. Besides that, the point -- "That Iguchi deal worked out well for them" -- re: Crede/"They won't trade for an injury from the White Sox again" is weak because the Iguchi deal was more than likely a big makeup deal and because Tadahito Iguchi doesn't have half the issues Freddy Garcia and Crede do. Pat Gillick would deserve to lose his job if he traded anything significant for Joe Crede, especially Burrell.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Oct 14, 2007 -> 10:17 AM) Nobody in their right mind likes the drum guy, even many indians fans i spoke with at the Jake said its damn annoying. I think he's a top two fan in all of baseball. -- I just think that Drum Fan's dedication is praise-worthy. He's been doing it since 1971 and has only missed ten games, if I recall correctly. Besides that, I'm not in the business of deriding individualism and dedication and creativity and fan support.
-
I love the drum guy. Oh, he's crazy as hell, but I love him.
-
So no truth, no Thompson? I thought so.

I attended a few parties last night and at one of them, Hunter Thompson came up and someone said they'd heard a long rumor about him killing a girl in his basement but they didn't know the rest of the details. I, being quite familiar with Thompson although I'm more familiar with his work than his life, don't believe I've ever heard that before. In fact, I'm almost sure that I haven't heard that before, and it isn't just because of the aftereffects of a night out. So tell me, is there anything to the rumor? Does the rumor exist? What is it?

Aaron Rowand's a funny guy.
-
Yeah, I know, but I do as I please.
-
Diamondbacks, come on, what kind of baserunning is that?
-
With Young up, stealing, one out, bottom of the ninth, this should be interesting.

THE DIAMONDBACKS PLAYED IT AGAIN
-
Oh my God, after Willy T. caught the second out in the bottom of the fourth, the Diamondbacks were playing Eminem's Mosh. "What you interpret it as/ I say (take?) [sic] the fight we gonna whip someone's ass." It was bizarre. And, I think, somewhat inappropriate.

It all comes down to James Polk's Manifest Destiny.

Way to respond to bulls*** with bulls***, and I eagerly anticipate the next bulls*** -- "Well, George W. Bush is more responsible!"

Come on Rockies. Don't let the curse of the black jersey change hurt you.

So do the Rockies.

QUOTE(max power @ Oct 12, 2007 -> 07:03 PM) And for the record, I was deeply offended by this post. Reducing my statement to that ignorant comment almost made me cry. Oh, that's rich.
