  1. It's a minute read for a guy who reads as fast as I do and it's less than a minute to post about a woman I find to be interesting though idiotic. Why does she go out and make s*** up? Why does she go out and tell stories that have genuinely happened to her? What would compel someone to break their own hands for attention? Kind of interesting stuff even if she is a hack.
  2. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Sep 12, 2007 -> 03:51 PM) Your an old man, your not suppose to be posting stuff like this. Why is that in green?
  3. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Sep 12, 2007 -> 02:22 PM) First of all, what's with this "=/" you're sporting everywhere? "Not equal to" is written "!=" or "~=". Just saying. Second, I'm not saying he's Young's equal. But they are roughly the same age and had similar age 21 years in the same league. I'd rather take a chance on the potential than swap him for the next Mackowiak. I'm sorry I don't know the proper protocol for "not equal to," typed. The fact is, though, that Sweeney has never been projected to be half the player Young is and so saying, "Young didn't meet expectations right away" is true enough but not really.
  4. We've heard testimony on him before. He's a crooked man and he's got sleazy history with the SCOTUS and Bush v. Gore. There was no reason to nominate him except 1. Nobody else, literally nobody else, would take it. 2. Screw with the Democrats. It's both. There's no reason to bring in such a sleazy man who will only divide the Congress and follow the President's orders without question or integrity. But this is an administration that loves its incest policy like it loves tax cuts, and so they have to promote from within always. Maybe I'm selling them short, though, and they'd love to hire respectable, gap-bridging employees but those evil democrats and liberals and center right Republicans just won't join because they're mean to the President because they're elitists and jerks.
  5. and keep her secrets to herself lest the world think her...bad.
  6. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 12, 2007 -> 05:16 PM) Johnson and Johnson actually make an ouchless liquid that is easy on said cells. With that said, im nervous for the readers of Pratt's paper. Haha, I'm no fascist. I am unwilling to change anyone's content beyond making the headlines better and the writing better, but the message will always be intact, whatever the author wants that to be.
  7. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Sep 12, 2007 -> 05:17 PM) "don't forget about me. i need news coverage too" Well, that's actually not THAT bad an example, but I'm not going to have that discussion with you.
  8. I, for one, am happy that Jim Thome has gone on a huge tear during the garbage time of this season. Good for him. Oh, it's quite the achievement when he hits it, but I'm so disappointed by the timing of it.
  9. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 12, 2007 -> 04:25 PM) I think right now, any of us would listen to those type of deals, because I don't think there are many of us who have a huge amount of confidence in any of the guys you mention (although I'll still say we desperately need 1 of Anderson and Sweeney to be ready to start for us in 09). Here's the other side question; what do you do if they demand Garland instead of Jose? The bold won't happen. Sweeney probably won't, either. And if they demand Garland for Weeks? Shiiiit. Wish we had better quality pitching depth. But hey, I don't think Garland's that hot and he might be worth it.
  10. QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Sep 12, 2007 -> 04:35 PM) Lots of people in metropolitan areas who are sick of 90 minute commutes that should only take 30 minutes? You don't say! I was affirming the point I pretended to belittle! Who cares about public transportation when Michael Vick is out there?
  11. I'm being sarcastic. I don't care about this, though. I'm sure plenty of teams do it, which doesn't make it right but the Jets would have a realer complaint if they'd been beat by, say, a few points rather than being absolutely annihilated.
  12. Why would they discuss it? Who the hell wants to hear about that?
  13. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 12, 2007 -> 12:40 PM) You are correct and I'd never make that deal. And at least Podsednik has a little pop in his bat, usually has a higher OBP than Pierre and has a stronger arm. On the contrary, Pierre stays healthy. Podsednik is made of glass and damaged ligaments/muscle/tissues. Of course, I want neither, but I'd count on Pierre to be productive over Scott Podsednik, who can't even run anymore.
  14. I've never really taken them serious with regard to this. They won't carry it out because they know it's suicide and they know that the state will give them something eventually. Blackmail might be a better term. Whatever you call it, it's not what they'd like you to think. Oh, and I found out that no, contrary to knolls' assertion, they don't get lifetime health insurance for everyone in their family. Sorry. It was a good criticism while it lasted. By the way, CTA is crooked and incompetent. So's the state. This is just a grand clusterf*** of small visions and terrible governance.
  15. QUOTE(Cknolls @ Sep 12, 2007 -> 10:50 AM) Real reform would include reforming the cushy union contracts and pensions that are not only ruining the CTA but also the state budget and county budget. These people should have to pay for their healthcare like everyone else. Retired CTA workers get 100% healthcare for their entire families for life. Major problem. If that is true -- I've asked around -- that is remarkable and bad,.
  16. When I travel, I take my head on the road
  17. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Sep 12, 2007 -> 11:09 AM) I have no idea what that means...but if you're NIFOTC right now, I'm gonna puke. LOL, well-played!
  18. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Sep 12, 2007 -> 11:04 AM) stop looking at porn? that might help. yer kyoot, and I'll take your advice into consideration after daddy finishes his reading, okay?
  19. I am a rocketing rabbit! -- http://www.exploratorium.edu/baseball/reactiontime.html try that
  20. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Sep 12, 2007 -> 10:43 AM) yeah, it's just like recycling.... He'll be here all day, folks!
  21. Beyond the snark, that's actually a fair enough point. At least it just scorches the Earth, and not the air or the water beyond habitation.
