QUOTE(Reddy @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 11:59 AM) you mean in Cleveland and Minny where its JUST as cold... yeah... no i'm good with playing at home. Anywhere warm, or inside, so we use our home games when its nice out. To me, there is no such thing as home field advantage with weather like today.

White Sox vs. Indians, 4/4/07 (L)
Just got this off ABC News Chicago "The strong wind apparently caused part of a sound barrier wall at U.S. Cellular Field to come loose. Police closed down some streets around the ball park as a precaution. A repair crew is at the ballpark fixing the damaged wall. The city has also sent building inspectors to the park. A Sox's spokesperson says it will not affect the game this afternoon against the Cleveland Indians." This game would just suck to play in, I wish we played the first 6 on the road.

Does anyone know what channel Comcast is on Direct TV in the city? Trying to help my sister out who wants to watch the game today.

what place will the sox finish in?
Interest fact: During the period between 2000-2006 there have only been 5 teams who have not had a losing season; The Yankees, Red Sox, A's, Cardinals, and White Sox.

Opening Day Discussion thread
QUOTE(smalls2598 @ Mar 30, 2007 -> 01:58 PM) I thought the gates don't open until 11?? And will the girls be dressed as we see them in your avatars??? Gates for the stadium open at 11, parking lots at 10 on opening day. The rest of the games the parking lots open at 1030. About the girls, im not sure Rudylaws girl fits in that shirt anymore (she blew up a bit) so I think the one in mine is gonna have to hold it down.

QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Mar 29, 2007 -> 09:18 AM) ah so looks like it's just me and HeGone33. Will the chick in your avatar be accompanying you?? Ya know, I sure wish she was! I was hoping the girl I sold my extra tickets that are next to me would at least look like her, but that didn't work out so well. That girl is my wife, problem is she just doesn't know it yet.

Sox vs. D-Backs, 3:05 CDT, 3/28/07
QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 28, 2007 -> 03:04 PM) I've seen three articles, they all said bruise, or nothing at all. Where are people getting the broken arm bit? Do you have a source? Ok, I should have known better, I admit by source was Ed Farmer. Either way, I hope he isn't around on Monday.

Interesting News
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Mar 28, 2007 -> 12:27 PM) Is there a single positive for this team going into opening day? It seems every facet of the team is falling apart. Sure, that they don't have people from this board managing them and running the organization. I really hope they prove a lot of people wrong here.

BUMPED::::::Toby Hall Possibly out for the season
QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Mar 26, 2007 -> 03:33 PM) Minnesota Joe Mauer - is a god Mike Redmond - .443/.467/.543/1.010 vs LHP (yeah, that is 31 for 70 against LHP) Detroit IRod - .719 OPS vs RHP, .891 vs LHP Vance Wilson - .326/.356/.488/.844 vs LHP Cleveland Victor - .290/.373/.430/.803 vs LHP, .332/.402/.486/.888 vs RHP Kelly Shoppach - .314/.368/.629/.997 vs LHP (in like 35 PAs) Royals LaRue - sucked last year, but had a .720 OPS against LHP in limited playing time Buck - more homers against LHP than RHP in about half the PAs It's kind of important to have a good catching duo. Thanks for checking that out. Can't get to the sites with stats here at work. I don't feel any better now though.

BUMPED::::::Toby Hall Possibly out for the season
Can anyone list the backup catchers in our division and their numbers vs. righties and lefties? I'd feel a little better if we were on the same level as the other in the division with a potential Wiki backup. I still does suck though cause Hall probably would have been the best backup in the division and we lose that edge.

White Sox @ Giants, 3/26/07
My guess would be that Erstad is getting the time in CF to get the work in out there, as he will be the starting CF for the team.

Chris Widger was the backup when the Sox won the World Series. Enough Said.

3/23/06 Sox @ Rockies 3:05 CT
QUOTE(G&T @ Mar 23, 2007 -> 04:56 PM) I wonder what other teams were really thinking about Garcia's loss of velocity. The market may have been cooler than we think. They were saying on the radio this morning that maybe KW and the Sox knew something about Garcia that most didn't. This regarding his recent tricep situation and potential shoulder problem.

I really hope Danks can string together a couple starts like today and build up that confidence. Im excited about watching him pitch this year. He seems like a bada@@.

Sox v Mariners, at TEP, 3:05pm, 3/22/07
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 22, 2007 -> 05:13 PM) Um, does that make sense to anyone? I don't get it. Perhaps if you had seen him swing a week ago and fall on his tail

QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Mar 22, 2007 -> 05:07 PM) Truth be told, most of us don't care if Anderson makes or doesn't make the team as long as Erstad is grinding it to his maximum potential by hitting weak groundouts to the right side. I'd actually prefer watching BA grind himself into the ground at home plate while swinging.
