QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Mar 13, 2007 -> 02:42 PM) A few months from now will determine whether Anderson is the better player? Wow, BA doesnt have much time at all Well it's just as screwed up for me to make that prediction as it was to say Brian would be twice the player, going off what? I'll leave it up to the Sox organization to decide about Brian, I think they know a thing or two more than us about players.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 13, 2007 -> 02:04 PM) I havent read the thread, but let me be one of the first if not the first to say this: f*** Aaron Rowand. Anderson will be twice the major leaguer than A-row will ever be. Im saving this one. I might just be able to bring it back in a few months and laugh. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Mar 13, 2007 -> 02:10 PM) What I wish this organization would consider is giving Anderson the full-time position for this season. Then, after 2007 concludes, decide whether he's your future centerfielder based on another year of maturation. If he's not -- pursue Rowand on the open market. He'll be there for the taking. If Anderson has made strides, we're better off remaining patient. Anderson certaintly won't be the deciding factor in our success. There are eight other players on the lineup, including the VAUNTED pitching staff, who should be held accountable before him. Ur right about Brian not being the deciding factor in our success, but him not doing well limits the amount of slack there can be with the rest of the lineup. I'd rather have someone in there who we KNOW can perform.

QUOTE(WhiteSoxFan1 @ Mar 13, 2007 -> 11:00 AM) Also I cant seem to rob any home runs. Whenever I try to climb the wall I end up taking a nosedive into it instead. I had the same problem but figured it out last night. As soon as you see the option by your player for "wall climb" you have to hit the right stick in the direction of the climb and it will sort of take over your player and he will climb. I kept running into the wall cause i would see the "wall climb" as I was approaching the wall but would wait to hit the right stick until I was at the wall. By then the "wall climb" option was already gone therefore the nosedive. 0-12, ouch. I was killing in pro then switched to all-star last night and won 10-9 vs. Cleveland. Much more realistic game but way to many homers between the two teams.

If you can get Aaron Rowand, GET HIM! Im tired of this back and forth stuff about him that goes on here all the time. Was anyone at the game last year when he game to get his ring? I was, and that place was going nuts for a reason. Now everyone seems to hate him, and why, cause BA is better? Cmon now. BA sucks, and go back and think about last year all the times he didn't do a damn thing at the plate and did nothing but give us stuff to write and complain about. I'll take Arow and knowing that he was the starting centerfielder for the World Series team over this ceiling that BA supposedly has. Everyone complained about trading Jeremy Reed, now where is he? Can't even make the mariners! Please everyone, where is the common sense? BA sucks! Im not about to get excited about his ST average of late and think we have greatness on our hands.

Anyone have any updates on the game?

QUOTE(CarlosMartinez @ Mar 12, 2007 -> 11:54 AM) For those having problems with the CPU making too many great defensive plays, adjust your sliders. I've turned the CPU outfielder speed down to 30 or 35 and have only had 1 ball robbed in about 8 games. I've only seen a few diving grabs too and it was against the Twinks so I figure that's pretty realistic. I also turned their outfield throwing speed down to 20 and now they are forced to hit the cutoff guy. Thome and Paulie are about the only 2 that can turn a routine double into a close play because of their lack of speed. I'm 21-12 in my franchise and currently riding a 9 game winning streak. Those came against 2 teams with losing records. Only 2 of those 9 wins were non-save situations, the last game I blew a 6 run lead with Buerhle and only won because JD drove in 2 in the 9th to give me the lead. I'm still 500 in the division as the Indians and Tigers have owned me. Thanks for the help, I was wondering why I keep getting robbed all over the field. I'll have to make those adjustments. Out of curiosity, what level are you playing on? Im on pro, started off 0-3 and have won 9 in a row to go to 9-3. Most of the games are close but, I keep hitting a ton of homers. I can adjust that too right? I'll have to take a look when I get home. Or should I move to the next level (from pro)?

QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Mar 11, 2007 -> 07:12 PM) I finally figured out that about the only way to strike someone out is a fastball at the top or above the strike zone. Also, the OF's have WAY to strong of arms. I have been thrown out by plays standing at the CF or RF wall too many times. I've had no problem striking batters out all around the zone. My problem is Javier and Gavin are averaging 10 SO's per game with 0.00 ERA through their first two starts. That's not too realistic.

Anyone know why Freddie Garcia hasn't pitched yet this spring?

LMAO! The Zambrano/A.J. McDonald's Commercial

QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Mar 10, 2007 -> 05:50 PM) Zambrano is sleeping in his bed and A.J. sneaks in and scotch-tapes one of his eyebrows off. LOL! The tagline was something like "LET THE RIVALRY BEGIN!" Actually, I think he apply's wax to it, then rips it off. Nevertheless, hilarious! -
I would have like to see Michael Barrett punch ARow and see what would have happened.

Well I started the topic on what Phillips said so it's only fitting to start the one with Ozzie's response. TUCSON, Ariz. -- White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen said Thursday he hopes ESPN baseball analyst Steve Phillips' latest statement about him is correct. Because as far as Guillen is concerned, if Phillips is right about his speculation on Guillen's job security, it would be the first time. Phillips said on the air Wednesday that Guillen is the manager most on the hot seat this season. It wasn't the first time the former New York Mets general manager has been critical of Guillen. That has left the Sox' skipper to think it is personal. ''Every time I talk to him, he tries to be nice to me,'' Guillen said. ''If I'm in that position [on the hot seat], then I'm in great shape because I have two more years on my contract. And I guarantee him if I'm done with the White Sox, I can go to my house or get another job. ''I have a better record than his manager [bobby Valentine] did with the Mets. I have a better record as a manager than [Phillips] when he was the Mets' general manager. We pick better players than he did back then. He forgot about when I was with Atlanta and he was the general manager [of the Mets] and we beat him. He forgot I was the guy who hit the base hit to right field to win the game.'' Added Guillen: ''One thing I like to do is prove people wrong.'' I LOVE OZZIE!!!

QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Mar 8, 2007 -> 07:20 PM) If Steve Phillips said it then it must be true Im not saying I agree with the man at all. He is an idiot!

Is anyone else pumped about our pitching staff?
HeGone33 replied to striker's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Detroit still worries me, that being said, as we all know, there are so many factors that come into play during the season. Overall about the pitching staff, I'm really excited. It sucks in November when you hear of the trades and really have nothing to judge, but getting a look at some of these guys in ST really has made me feel alot better about the whole situation. I think any time we play Detriot every player should bunt, that might solve some problems. -
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Mar 8, 2007 -> 05:55 PM) The only thing that would put Ozzie on the managerial hotseat is his mouth. So in a way I agree with Phillips, Ozzie is always one outrageous comment from looking for work. It would take just too much baseball-wise to go wrong for him to get canned otherwise. That isn't going to happen. Well thats the thing, Phillips said he would lose his job if the team didn't perform, and said they didn't perform last year. He didn't say he would lose it because of his mouth.

Talk about loving the White Sox, all of us wathcing a live box score for a spring training game. I do it all the time as im at work during the day.

While asked on Sportscenter what MLB Managers are on the Hot Seat, Phillips stated Ozzie Guillen is due to the disappointing season they had in 2006. Said if he doesn't get the team to perform this year he could be out. Now im not to fond of Steve as it is and I definitly was disappointed with the results of last year, but the fact remains the Sox did win 90 games. While Ozzie had his bad moves that might have cost them some games, im not ready to say if we don't make the playoffs this year that Ozzie should be gone, nor should he have to worry about being gone. The Ozzie debate is an endless one here on Soxtalk, but I pose the question, if not Ozzie, who at this point would be better? All I have to do is pull out my 2005 White Sox DVD and listen to all the players praise Ozzie to be assured that I want him running that dugout. Thoughts?

Can someone copy it for those of us at work who have ESPN blocked?

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Mar 4, 2007 -> 03:52 PM) I hear the franchise mode is awful this season, with a bunch of glitches. Whats the deal? What have you heard about it being aweful? I think its pretty solid so far. Other than having those fake names.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Mar 4, 2007 -> 03:51 PM) Real quick delivery, he was doing a very nice job of jamming Jones high and inside with those fastballs. I gotta say the ball looks a lot harder coming out of his hand than 89-90 MPH. Exactly, and he seems to work pretty quickly like Mark B. Gotta say it "He Gone" -
