I love Aybar he reminds me alot of Omar Vizquel and to have him for 5 years in the 2 hole would be great. Crede has two years left. Personally to me i see Crede's value as 2 B level spects, if the angels throw in SS/2B Sean Rodriguez i'm sold. The angles have Kendrick and Wood as their future along with Orlando Cabrera, Maicer Izturis and Chone Figgins. Shea is horrid at 3B, id imagine hes going to see alot of time at 1B since McPhearson is always hurt and Kotchman hasn't lived up to the hype. Obviously i would love to see Reggie Willits coming back our way and to make that happen we would prolly have to add some LHP.

Chris Stewart Traded to Texas for RHP John Lujan

QUOTE(beck72 @ Jan 13, 2007 -> 05:16 AM) Getting a guy like Lujan [and harnessing his control] could potentially net the sox a position player. Yet Stewart wasn't going to play for the sox the next 2 yrs. Getting a guy who should outperform a back up C like Stewart is a good deal--no matter what position he plays on the field. BTW--don't discount Chris Getz at 2b. He should have been in high A instead of AA last yr. The sox have been high on him for yrs, drafting him out of high school and in 2005. 2007 should get him back to being a top 10 prospect I like Getz alot, he has an excellent glove and eye if he can bring that average and power up a bit(if hes at charlotte that should help some) he could be Iguchi's successor and maybe leadoff and if not possibly a utility inf. -

Nice move KW, loved Chris's D, but he wasn't going to hit his weight at the ML level and we have hall. JR Perdew work your magic. -

Sox like Dye, but at what cost?..... Goodbye Buerhle ?
beautox replied to spiderman's topic in Pale Hose Talk
i wouldn't be against keep JD here for 3-4 more years with an option on the 4th/5th but the way the market is i think he could get alot more years and alot more money, but if hes comfortable here then maybe he will make the commitment. I also wouldn't be against moving him to LF in 08 and letting Ryan take over in RF, and looking to SS for our lead off man. -

As of this moment im listening to Kurtis Blow's - The Breaks "these are the breaks, break it up, break it up, break down"

Anyone else think Konerko has a shot at the HOF he currently has 245HR at age 30, and to get to 500 he needs to average a lil over 25 for the next 10 years. I'd love to hear everyone's opinions on this.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jan 6, 2007 -> 01:11 PM) So he said if it came down to the Cardianals and Sox offering the same contract he'd pick this Sox? Talk about spin, I never expected the guy to sign with the Cardinals anyway, I expect him to sign with the highest bidder on the open market which in all likely hood would not be the Sox or Cards. If he came on and said he'd be willing to accept a contract similar to what the other starters on the team got then yeah this might be news but nothing has changed between yesterday and today. KW has already tried to re-sign him and failed, no one has to be the bad guy in a situation like this but both sides will be making statements trying to push the blame on the other guy. I'm willing to accept the fact that Mark is looking to cash in big time for his 'prime years' contract and that the asking price is just too much for the Sox. I don't see a need to blame either side. +1

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jan 5, 2007 -> 09:07 PM) And finally...Podsednik for Carillo and Blanks beau? If we're getting that much for garbage, why don't we just take Greene from them and keep Crede? And horrid platoon of Sledge and Cruz? Sledge has never really been a good player, but every season Cruz has been in the big leagues, he's had a respectable season. As an 8 hitter, he's worth hanging on to at like $650K or whatever ridiculously cheap salary he's at. Podsednik might not have alot of value in the eyes of sox fans, but i think two years of Podsednik at around 7mil total is a reasonable deal for a B lvl SP spec that has a checkered injury past and a 1B who hasn't moved above A. Scott would certainly be better than Terrmel Sledge & Jose Cruz in LF and hes cheap, how much more $ do the padres have left to pay on Petco? The marlins got 3 good arms for Pierre in his contract year.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jan 5, 2007 -> 09:50 PM) What else can you tell us about 'Short Bus'? It was very popular around here, I never got around to watching it. its basically a womens search for an orgasm. it reminds me of crash in the sense your introduced to alot of characters and they all revolve around one another and hang out at this sex den called "short bus". if your comfortable about you sexuality i would say give it a watch, its got a ton of sex scenes and it gets graphic at times for example: 3 men all getting down with each other, while one eats another's asshole out while singing if i recall correctly the star spangled banner. hope that helps

QUOTE(shoota @ Jan 5, 2007 -> 02:37 PM) Could be a blessing in disguise. I'm with you on this one, if he sits out 07, he gets bought out in 08 for 500k. This would also most likely be the precursor to Crede being moved since KW doesn't want to play Boras's game. i posted this over at SSS, and ill just repost. Send Crede to LAA I doubt we could get Wood; Kendrick and Wood look to be the angels future. Which would appear to make 2B Sean Rodriguez & SS Erick Aybar available maybe throw in Phillips or Logan and OF Reggie Willits becomes available since the angels have very little LHP depth. They just gave Brendan Donnelly away for AAAA Phil Seibel. Willits is a little old to wear the prospect tag(25), even though he has never repeated a lvl, and the angels outfield is very crowded hes not even a top 20 prospect in their system even though he led milb in OBP last year. I'd love to see all them on the south side and Josh holding down the hot corner. S Reggie Willits LF R Tadahito Iguchi 2B * L Jim Thome DH R Jermaine Dye RF R Paul Konerko 1B L A.J. Pierzynski C S Erick Aybar SS * R Brian Anderson CF R Josh Fields 3B I think during spring training Aybar and Iguchi could switch spots in the line up. Also that would spend Podsednik packing possibly to the Padres to replace that horrid platoon of Terrmel Sledge & Jose Cruz in LF. Cesar Carrillo + Kyle Blanks anyone? I'm all for bringing in ML ready talent(Fields/Aybar/Willits) and replacing two of our biggest holes last year with cheaper cost effective players that would have even better OBP and a push with defense. Willits has a very good glove and Aybar isn't on the lvl with Uribe, but he can at least be average if not above average. Crede > Fields, but at the same time i think Josh could be average at 3B next year. Throw in Rodriguez & Carrillo & Blanks, and were setting our self up for the future so we won't have to deal with a 100 loss season.

Best pitching stacked farm system in baseball? its good but not the best. Maybe left handed pitching spec's in baseball; but even then you have the dodgers with Clayton Kershaw & Scott Elbert. As for the best pitching stacked farmsystem in baseball and possibly best farm system overall after they deal the big unit imho its going to be the yankees, hate to say it but its true. Hughes, Sanchez, Chamberlain, Betances, Clippard, Kontos, Garcia, Kennedy, Norton, and then add in one or two of the following depending on how much $ the yankee's send to AZ Nippert/Owings/Ohlendorf Then add in Tabata and Montero and i'm not even mentioning Cox and Whelan. Stacked.
